Episode 1

CHUN MAN HIN' s father died during his childhood. He was brought up by his mother, YUK HO. After his graduation, he gets married with SUET YEE. They have a happy family, MAN HIN's elder sister, MAN KUEN, married with a property agent, WONG CHAN SHING when she was young. Their daughter. CHING LING likes MAN HIN very much and regards him as her idol. MAN HIN teaches in a secondary school in the New Territories. He takes up teaching as his major responsibility and teaches students in accordance with their aptitude. His students like him but his colleagues dislike him. . HALL CHE KEI is a bad student. The principal and other teachers want to force CHE KEI to leave the school because of his misbehaviour. MAN HIN tries to help him and also visits his family in order to understand his family background. CHE KEI' s mother died during his early childhood. Since no one takes care of him, he is very naughty. The only one that he respects and fears is his elder brother, CHE HO. CHE KEI mistakes that MAN HIN tells his father all his misbehaviour. The gap between them is thus further widened. CHE KEI goes with sane black sheep and is beaten up in the street. Fortunately y he is saved by MAN HIN. CHE KEI is impressed. The relationship between them becomes better. CHE KEI wants to have a date with KA YAN although he is refused by her. Since the crime rate increases, the police asks CHUNG YEE' s daughter, FONG TUNG, to go out at night in order to lure the suspect into a trap. FONG 'IUNG meets the sex maniac and is almost raped……

CHE KEI intentionally cheats MAN HIN. However his act if witnessed by the others , KA YAN is discontented and makes keen criticiser of him. This sows seeds of hatred in his heart. CHE KEI makes the classroom into a mess and thus he is dismissed by the school authority. CHE HO is angry with CHE KEI's behaviour and he argues with him. CHE KEI thinks that CHE HO is instructed by MAN HIN and he ' hates him much. As his financial situation improves, MAN HIN wants to find new flat for his wife and baby. KA YAN dreams of being MAN HIN' s lover. She wants to approach him and she claims that her family life is unhappy one. Therefore MAN HIN has a meeting with her. CHE KEI feels ashamed and angry as KA YAN neglects his presence. He hits her, making her faint in the roof and her clothes tom. He only wants to make' her embarrassed. However she is raped by a sex maniac who witnessed everything. MAN HIN arrives and sees KA YAN' 5 condition……

MAN HIN is arrested by the police. He confronts 'being accused. CHUNG YEE cares across MAN HIN and recalls his former unpleasant experience. This makes him lose his calmness in judgement. He collects' all evidences to prove MAN HIN guilty. On the other hand, CHE KEI knows that he is in trouble and seeks help from CHE HO. CHE HO does not want CHE KEI to be involved, so he shirks all responsibilities to MAN HIN. CHING LING trusts MAN HIN being innocent. She goes to question KA YAN but she accuses MAN HIN. This shakes her faith. She finds her ideal image vanish and she turns her back to MAN HIN. SUET YEE is under great pressure as the others always discuss her husband's case. She is confused. YUK HO worries about MAN HIN. She wants to defend him in front of YAN's mother but is rejected, She is embarrassed.

MAN HIN loses his career as well as his fame. However he doesn6t give up. He determines to struggle for his future. FONG TUNG judges MANHIN being falsely accused from her sense of chivalry. She promises to find out the truth for him. CHING LING is shocked and isolated herself from the others. She becomes rebellious. MAN HIN wants to persuade her to repent but he is scolded. As she is depressed, she meets a hawker, YUEN CHUNG TAI She is impressed by his strong will and self-determined character. CHE HO wants to stop FONG TUNG from investigating the case. This widens the gap between them, endangering their love. MAN HIN meets KA YAN in the street and wants to make his explanation. KA YAN ignores him. She even complains that he threatens her.

CHAN SHING does not help MAN HIN but he fears that he will be responsible for taking care of YUK HO if MAN HIN is sent to prison. He always sneer atman HIN. MAN HIN is sent to prison for one and a half year. CHE KEI feels guilty. CHINS LING gives ~p herself because of the loss of an idol. CHAN SEING tries to restrain her but in vain. CHING LING even leaves home. SUET YEE is disappointed with MAN HIN. She devotes with MAN HIN and leaves for U.S .A. This grieves MAN HIN. YUK HO is ill and needs to have expensive medical treatment. CHAN SHING is unhappy with the great expenditure.

MAN HIN tries his very best to apply to go out to visit YUK HO. Unfortu?nately, YUK HO dies before his - arrival. He is very sad. CHINS LING always wanders in the street and eventually becomes a 'problem I girl. CHING LING meets CHING always goes out with CHUNG TAI. CHUNG TAI mistakes this. CHAN SHING has financial problem. He asks MAN KUEN to persuade MAN BIN to give all his assets to him, Finally, MAN HIN agrees. CHING TAI does not want CHING LING getting with the black sheep. Thus he tries to embridge her and her family. CHE HO is lured by money and works for the boss of a triad society, FAN PUI SUN. One day, PUI SUN's gang fights with another triad society of AH B. CHE HO makes use of his authority to help PUI SUN to dissolve AH B' s gang. CHE HO's brave is appreciated by his boss. He begs FONG TUNG to marry him. FONG TUNG agrees.

MAN HIN is bullied by other prisoners when he is sent to prison. For?tunately, YUEN SZE takes care of him. Thus, they become good friends. One day, YUEN SZE is attacked by his rivals. MAN HIN saves him but is serious1y hunted. YUEN SZE is very impressed. Different gangs try to have MAN HIN as its member and lure him with money. However, MAN HIN refuses. MAN HIN is affected by YUEN SZE and his aptitude changes. PUI SUN uses CRE HO's official power to force AH B's subordinates, AH TAK and others, to be under him. AH TAK and others refuse and try to take revenge on CHE HO. CHEUNG CHUNG PAK, an officer of I .C.A.C., receives a complaint on CHE HO and PUI SUN. CHE HO investigates the illegal business run by PUI SUN in order to divert others' attention. FONG TUNG suspects CHE HO. CHUNG PAK inspects CRE HO and his sources of wealth. This delays CHI HO's promotion. CHE HO recognizes that he will have no prospect in the police force……

FONG TUNG is misled by CHE HO. She thinks that he resigns because he wants to run his own business. She, taking his advice, decides to resign before their marriage. CRE KEI arouses some gangs' enmity. CHE HO helps him to get rid of them. PUI SUN runs some bars and film companies in order to deceive his illegal business. He appreciates CHE HO's intelligence. He appoints him to manage part of his business. CHE KEI envies CHE HO and wants to work under him. CHE HO doesn't want him to do any illegal business. Thus, he arranges him to be a bar-tender in his bar. CHUNG TAI introduces CHING LING to work. as waitress in the bar. CHING LING and CHE KEI always, argue with each other. Once, CHE KEI helps CHING LING to get away from a "sex maniac. The gap between them disappears. When FONG TUNG is preparing the wedding, she discovers that CHE HO is doing some illegal businesses. She asks him not to do so but in vain. She feels disappointed……

When MAN HIN returns home, CHAN SHING and CHING LING treat him badly. This makes very happy. MAN HIN, although disliked by his relatives and friends, does not turn down. He tries to prove his innocence. However, since the case happened a few years ago, he cannot find evidences. He is disappointed. MAN HIN is looked clown on by his relatives, friends and neighbours. He loses all his hopes. Fortunately, FONG TUNG encourages him and helps him to have a new life. Accidentally, MAN HIN meets HEUNG BAK and CHUNG TAI. With their help, MAN HIN moves to live in a wooden hut at the top of a building. Their friend?ship makes him feel warmth. CHE HO still loves FONG TUNG. He tells her that he will not run any illegal businesses any more when he takes the position of PUI SUN. However, FONG TUNG has given him up. MAN HIN finds a job as cleaner……

MAN HIN celebrates birthday for CHUNG TAI. CHING LING is very angry when she sees MAN HIN. She insults him and then leaves. CHUMG TAI tries to explain for MAN HIN. 86th CHE KEI and CHING LING have an unconventional and unrestrained life. They becomes lovers. One night, NAN HIN meets a girl working in a night club, MOK WING SUEN. She was threated by some blacksheep. MAN HIN helps her to escape. WING SUEN feels deeply grateful and thus tells MAN HIN her family background. MAN HIN sympathizes her and takes her as a good friend. Years ago, WING SUEN's father, MOK SUM, was an drug addict. His wife couldn't stand him any more and left the family. The financial condition of the family became worse. So, WING SUEN has to work in the night club to support the family. In spite of his compunction, MOK SUM still asks for money frequently since he is addicted to drugs. MAN KUEN takes pity on MAN HIN and always helps him secretly……

CHE HO doesn't want CHE KEI involved in illegal business. CHE KEI doesn't understand CHE HO and tries to show off his braveness in front of PUI SUN. CRE KEI is appreciated by PUI SUN and becomes his subordinate. CHE HO still loves FONG TUNG. He is angry with MAN HIN since he cannot win FING TUNG's heart again . He sets on fire to threat MAN HIN. MAN HIN does not want FONG TUNG having misunderstanding with CHE HO. He asks FONG TUNG to explain to CHE HO. FONG TUNG tells him that the love affair between her and CHE HO has already ended. This makes MAN HIN feel easy. In fact, FONG TUNG has fallen in love with MAN HIN unconsciously. How?ever, MAN HIN does not take cl further step. She is very disappointed. A few years ago, WING SUEN prepared to get married with a sailor. Unfortunately, the sailor died as the ship was attacked by a bomb. MAN CHING steals the video secretly. When she is escaping, she meets MAN HIN who helps her. WING SUEN asks the boss of a triad society, BRO'I'HER CHIU, to help CHING MAN. However, CHE HO doesn't fear BROTHER CHIU and even asks his subordinates to kill him. CHE KEI is angry with MAN HIN and asks people to kill him. Fortunately, MAN HIN is saved by CHUNG TAI. CHUNG TAI misleads others that he is dead but arranges MAN HIN and WING SUEN to hide in a remote area. MAN HIN is seriously hunted by the subordinates of CHE HO. WING SUEN takes care of him. Thus, love blossoms between them.

CHE HO finds MAN HIN and tries to kill him with his subordinates . Fortunately, MAN HIN meets YUEN SZE who saves him. YUEN SZE asks PUI SUN to persuade CHE HO to let MAN HIN go. CHE HO does so unwillingly. When CHE KEI is pursued by the police, he meets CHING LING. CHING LING swollen the drugs in order to save him. CHE KEI is impressed. CHING LING is confined by CHE HO because they have a quarrel about money. Knowing CHING LING being treated badly, CHE KEI argues with CHE HO. CHE HO is angry and hurts CHE KEI. CHE KEI recognizes CHE HO's true face and realizes his own false.

CHE HO wants to kill PUI SUN so as to take his position but in vain. When he is escaping, he meets MAN HIN. He shows repentance and tells the truth to him. MAN HIN wants to have a fair judgement. CHING LING knowing the truth regrets deeply. The gap between MAN HIN and her disappears When CHUNG YI knows that MAN HIN is innocent, he feels regret. He gives apology to MAN HIN and tries to bring CHE HO to justice. Since FONG TUNG recognizes the intimate relationship between MAN HIN and WING SUEN, she does not show her love of MAN HIN. CHE HO Iays a trap.MAK SUM is dead. WING SUEN is very grieved.

TSUI HONG dislikes CHE HO, CHUNG TAI asks him to steal CHE HO's computer disc which records all the evidences of illegal business of CHE HO. However" this is discovered by CHE HO. He forces. MAN HIN to return the disc to him but in vain. Thus, he takesWING SUEN as a hostage. CHE HO asks MAN HIN come out and then attacks MAN HIN. FONG TUNG arrives with the policeman on time. However, CHE HO guns FONG TUNG down. WING SUEN wants to leave to let MAN HIN and FONG TUNG together.ONG TONG understands that love cannot be transferred. She thus gives up. Finally, WING SUEN makes up her mind and accept MAN HIN's love. CHE KEI decides to get married with CHING LING. On their wedding , CHE HO attacks MAN HIN suddenly. CHING LING is hurted and dies after she is sent to the hospital. MAN HIN decides to fight violence with force. He wants to bring CHE HO to justice by himself……
