Episode 1

KEUNG meets LIK in Pak Lok Mun. He tells LIK that he is going to leave Shanghai. However KEUNG is lurked at the entrance, he is gunned down by assassins. All happened seven years ago... KEUNG and HOI arrive at Shanghai. HOI comes to save his master KWAN. KEUNG comes across LIK and LIK provides with him accommodation. KEUNG finds WAN, who has become a famous hired dancer in Shanghai. WAN introduces KEUNG to work in a cinema. YIU's subordinates chase after KWAN and YAU. They take refuge in HAU's godown. HOI goes to save KWAN. Before he dies, KWAN tells HOI that he was had been framed and tricked by YIU and he lost his casino. HOI swears to assist YAU to “avenge KWAN's death. HAU refuses to take HOI's compensation as HAU does not want to make YIU unhappy. KEUNG's talent is appreciated by his boss LI. PING is discontented and he hires LIK to kill KEUNG. The work is in vain and LIK is hurt seriously……

Episode 2

KEUNG finds LIK in his house. As LIK is seriously injured, KEUNG sends him to hospital immediately. KEUNG takes no action against PING. The duel between YIU and HOI is approaching. Everyone is nervous. YAU has no confident in HOI. CHO and KIT are angry and scold YAU. YIU uses tricks but HOI manages to divert YIU's attention. LI becomes the victim. The French Ambassador suggests the postpone the duel. YIU visits LI and instructs PING to deal with HOI for him. KEUNG worries. PING attacks HOI in the cinema but KEUNG manages to divert his attack to LI. In chaos, both LI and PING die. LI's subordinates support KEUNG to be the new boss. KEUNG is excited. HOI goes to the cinema again where he meets WA. He is shocked. HOI is lurked and fortunately he is saved by NG. HOI's eyes are hurt. With HAU's assistance, he arrives at the casino in time. KEUNG also gives him a hand secretly.

Episode 3

HOI appoints YAU as his assistant. Thinking that HOI is blind, YIU looks down upon him. HOI wins the first game. In the second game, YIU instructs his henchmen to make noise to distract HOI but his trick does not work. However HOI is shocked by WA and he loses the second game. In the third game, HOI recalls his promise made in front of KWAN. He concentrates his mind and at last wins the game. He gets the casino Xanado back. He begs WA to forgive him as he did not turn up to elope with her. However WA ignores him. YIU goes to the railway station to meet CHING who has finished her study. WING wants to kill YIU and he takes CHING as the hostage. KEUNG is also there as he goes to see WAN off. Chivalry drives KEUNG to save CHING. He drives WING and CHING away and before WING leaves, he gives him some money. CHING is safe. CHING is attracted by KEUNG. No one dares to work for HOI because of YIU's threat……

Episode 4

In order to flatter YAU. KAM kidnaps KWAN. NGOR comes to get KWAN back. KEUNG releases her and accompanies her home. On the way, KWAN tells KEUNG her unpleasant experience in the past. KEUNG calms her down. In order to threaten HOI, NGOR beats KWAN up. KWAN does not want to deceive HOI. NGOR dismisses her. KEUNG gives KWAN a job in Xanado. YIU sends his men to rob customers of Xanado. HOI's business in seriously affected. YAU goes to question YIU. YAU is arrested. HOI has to beg LIN to settle the deal. LAM cannot get into the military academy, thus he joins the police force. However he does not want to be bribed. He is not accepted by his colleagues. YAU entangles KWAN. He even kills KWAN's husband PO, who is mentally ill. NG is discontented but he does not tell the others. HOI invests in KEUNG's cinema. CHING approaches and flatters KEUNG but KEUNG is not touched.

CHING dates KEUNG but KEUNG does not turn up. CHING is disappointed. LIK is unhappy. LAM tricks the others and makes a big trouble. Luckily he is saved by KEUNG. He makes apologies as he accepts KEUNG's advice. TSANG lusts for WAN's charm. He threatens her with KEUNG's safety. For KEUNG, WAN is willing to sacrifice herself. KEUNG and LIK lead their people to save WAN. They kill TSANG and his men. NG indulges in gambling. YAU gives him money to pay the debt. NG is not contented. He threatens YAU. YAU is unhappy and he kills NG. HAU finds HOI's pen beside NG's corpse. In the ball, YIU arranges WA to dance with HOI. WA hates HOI and HOI is in deep grief. CHO and HEI nag at him.

Episode 6

HAU goes to kill HOI for NG. HOI asks HAU to give him three days to find the real killer. Three days later, HOI is still unable to find the killer. CHIU and CHUNG are unhappy as HAU does not take immediate action. They lead people to attack HOI's places. TUNG finds them and advise them to stop. He even hurts his thigh. CHIU and CHUNG are touched and agree to stop. They go to work for HAU again. HAU thanks TUNG. KEUNG buys KWAN's freedom back and provides with her accommodation. LIK is discontented with his intimacy to KWAN. YAU refuses to admit what he has done though there is a witness. CHO claims that they have found KAM. YAU goes to kill KAM but is trapped. HOI is sad to see what YAU has done. YAU pretends that he feels guilty.

Episode 7

HOI does not tell HAU what YAU has done so as to protect him. CHING sees KEUNG and KWAN in a book store. She is jealous as KEUNG is so good to KWAN. PAU is discovered by the police. YAU takes a faster step to catch PAU. He forces PAU to lie to HAU. HAU is told that NG and FU killed each other as they had a quarrel when they were gambling. HOI regards it as the most suitable arrangement. However YAU kills PAU for his own sake. WAI asks HAU to lend him money for his business. HAU begs HOI to help her. CHO tells HAU that WAI has indulged in gambling. HAU questions WAI but WAI manages to convince her. He even begs HAU to marry him. HAU agrees to marry him. KEUNG does not want KWAN to misunderstand him. He tells her that he regards her as his sister only. KWAN is shocked and leaves KEUNG’s house. She is found by YAU and YAU rapes her. She hurts YAU. For KWAN, KEUNG argues with YAU……

Episode 8

In the bazaar, CHING is angry to see LIK wearing the tie she has given to KEUNG. She scolds KEUNG but KEUNG makes no defense. KEUNG cannot get the license of his cinema from MAN. He and LIK take a photograph of his wife and her secret lover to blackmail MAN. MAN has to be cooperative. YIU sends people to kidnap FONG to spoil the opening ceremony of KEUNG's cinema. KWAI discovers YIU’s plan and informs KEUNG. FONG is saved and the ceremony can be held as scheduled. HOI waits for WA outside her house though it is snowing as he wants her to forgive him. He is sick but WA ignores him. WAI is in serious debt. He wants to set his godown on fire to get compensation. Incidentally HAU and TUNG are there. However WAI does not change his mind.

Episode 9

TUNG wakes up and when he is aware of their dangerous situation, he risks his life to save HAU. HAU is saved but TUNG has been hurt seriously. HAU is sad and she takes good care of TUNG. With her courage, TUNG recovers gradually. The bank urges HAU to pay WAI's debt. HOI assists her by arranging her to win money in the casino. HAU hires FU to kill WAI but FU tries to rape her. Luckily HOI has been following them and he saves HAU. KWAN decides to go to Guangzhou and KEUNG does not ask her to stay. KWAN tells CHING that KEUNG regards her as his sister only. CHING is excited. LIK comes across YI YAN. They fall in love soon and KEUNG warns LIK to be more careful. KEUNG and HOI want to run a water work factory. YIU is also interested in the project. YIU gambles with HOI again and he wins as HOI's attention is diverted by WA. YAU quarrels with WING, who is the son of a warlord. LIK is also involved and arrested. KEUNG goes to save them alone.

Episode 10

WING has to release them as KEUNG has tied some dynamite on his body. In the gun fight, many are hurt. KEUNG is angry and he urges HOI to hand in YAU. HOI refuses and this breaks up the relationship between KEUNG and HOI. YIU holds a party. CHING is jealous to see KEUNG dancing with WAN. YIU is assassinated and he is saved by KEUNG. He appreciates KEUNG's talent. CHO finds WAI and gives him to HOI. HOI leaves the decision to HAU. HAU finds that WAI is a man with no self—prestige. She lets him go. KAN gives LIK a good trouncing as YAN is his lover. YAN suffers from hideous disfigurement. LIK is angry and he kills KAM. This arouses the anger of different gangs. KEUNG and LIK have no way to run. YIU takes the chance to invite KEUNG to work for him. However KEUNG refuses to accept his suggestion. LIK cuts his arm to thank KEUNG. KEUNG is touched. He changes his mind and decides to stay in Shanghai.

LIK is impressed by YIU's sincere attitude towards them but KEUNG still does not trust YIU. LIK goes to HAU's office to collect protection fee. TUNG is discontented and argues with him. CHING admires KEUNG but KEUNG pays no attention to her intentionally. CHING learns from HON that KEUNG loves opera and is a patriot. CHING knows that KEUNG is a kind man as she sees him visiting orphans in an orphanage. HAU's goods are spoiled and LIK comes to collect money again. HAU has no choice but go to Xanado, hoping to win money from the casino. HAU is defeated by HOI. HOI gives HAU courage and invites HAU to work in the casino. YAU is not happy, so he tricks HAU. YIU wants to deal with HOI but he cannot get SHIU's support. Thus he sends people to kill SHIU. KEUNG suggests YIU to participate in the voting.

Episode 12

In order to protect his casino, HOI has to compete with YIU in the voting. HOI gives information relating to real property to SHI, who is the British Ambassador. SHI is attracted by WA’s charm. KEUNG bribes the Japanese Ambassador for YIU. LIK is angry as he is not informed of the plan in advance. YIU flatters him. TUNG is jealous as HAU's working attitude is appreciated by HOI. The press spreads scandal relating to YIU. CHING questions KEUNG but KEUNG seals the secret. YIU wants to bribe the journalists. PAK is angry and he resigns. He distribute leaflets in the street to draw the attention of the public. YIU hates him and sends people to kill him. KEUNG is sad to see his friend being killed. He talks with WAN. KEUNG tries to make CHING angry so as to make her give up. CHING is so disappointed that she decides to go to France to continue her study. KEUNG feels lonely and he goes to the orphanage again. There he finds CHING……

Episode 13

YIU gives a bungalow to PI, who is the French Ambassador, as a give to bribe him. He also wants to flatter MOR, who is the British Ambassador. HOI and CHO go to find the jade vase wanted by MOR. From TUNG, HAU learns that it is owned by KO. However KO refuses to sell it. TUNG gets the vase for HAU. HAU gives it to HOI. HOI thanks HAU and goes to dine with her. TUNG is jealous and HAU is attracted by HOI. HAU asks CHO to bridge HOI and WA. HOI gives PI two flats as presents. HAU prepares some sweet bird nests for PI. YAU tries to frame HAU but the trick is spoiled by TUNG. PI returns the bungalow to YIU as he wants to support HOI. However he is threatened by KEUNG. Meanwhile SHI is trapped by WA and is unable to attend the meeting. At last YIU wins the voting. HOI is disappointed.

Episode 14

YAU is not satisfied with the result of the voting. YIU sends KEUNG as his representative to get shares of Xanado. HOI refuses to accept the terms. LIK is unhappy as CHING has been attracted by KEUNG. TUNG is also discontented as HAU trusts HOI so much. He goes to a brothel to release his stress. There he learns from a prostitute that PAU ran away from his boss. TUNG suspects that HOI is the actual killer. HAU thinks that TUNG wants to frame HOI. YAU wants to kill TUNG to keep the secret. Luckily HOI has sent bodyguards to protect him and escort him to leave Shanghai. HEI arranges a meeting between HOI and WA but WA refuses to forgive HOI. HOI figures out a plan. He makes the place where Xanado is becomes part of the French sphere of influence. HAU talks with HOI and knows that WA still loves HOI.

Episode 15

As YIU cannot get the casino, he suspects KEUNG’s loyalty to him. HOI claims that he is willing to surrender everything to win over WA’s heart. WA is impressed. HOI decides to leave Shanghai. YAU is excited. YAU humiliates KEUNG and LIK. LIK is angry and he blows up YAU's car. WA rushes to see if HOI has got hurt. HOI knows that WA still loves him. WA decides to leave with HOI. However HOI does not turn up as he has gone to save HAU for YAU wants to kill HAU. WA goes home in deep grief. HAU wants to explain but it only worsens the situation. YIU announces that he will marry WA. HOI is shocked and YIU decides to kill HOI. He sends KEUNG to convince HOI to leave Shanghai. WA suspects YIU's intention and she follows the car. She is shocked to see HOI's car being destroyed in an explosion.

Episode 16

WA cannot find HOI after the explosion. HAU does not give up. She uses all her money to buy a ship so as to search for HOI. KEUNG questions YIU why YIU used him to get rid of HOI. As CHING still trusts YIU, a gap is found between KEUNG and CHING. WA is depressed and she tries to kill herself. YIU is discontented as WA's act proves that she still loves HOI. He wants to leave her alone. Luckily HEI convinces YIU to send WA to hospital. When KEUNG knows that HOI was killed by LIK, he goes to trounce LIK. Knowing that LIK was forced by YIU, KEUNG forgives LIK. As KEUNG hates YIU, he stays away from CHING. YAU comes across LING. LING encourages YAU to polish himself up. YAU is touched and appoints her to help him. WA goes to the beach to commit suicide. Luckily HAU is also there and saves her. HAU's efforts are paid. She finds HOI who is on the brink of death.

Episode 17

HAU and HOI claim to be a couple so as to seek accommodation in a farm house. HOI’s situation worsens. HAU brings WA to him. However WA pretends that she still hates HOI so as to make him forget her. CHING buys a ticket of a football match for KEUNG to flatter him. However KEUNG refuses her kind act. CHING's heart is broken. KEUNG knows it but he can do nothing. KEUNG secretly follows HAU. He meets HOI and explains to him. HOI sends a message to JO but it is taken by YAU. As YAU does not want HOI to return, he destroys the message. LING is astonished when she knows that HOI is still alive. For HOI's safety, WA agrees to marry YIU. YIU overhears the conversation between WA and HEI and is angry to learn that HOI is still alive. He sends LIK to kill HOI.

Episode 18

HOI and HAU escape. LIK cannot finish his duty as KEUNG brings the French Ambassador to stop him. LIK has to let go of them but before they leave, LIK reminds KEUNG that he should not betray YIU. HOI suspects LING’s real identity and intention. When LING is peeping at the floor plan of Xanado, JO sees her. LING frames JO having taken the money of the casino. YAU is deceived by her. HOI sends JO to Guangzhou to investigate LING’s background. HOI leaves a bomb in YIU’s car to threaten him. Thinking that CHING will be hurt, KEUNG rushes to save her. He feels relieved when he finds CHING all right. He decides to overcome all his burden and discloses his love of her in front of CHING. YAN delivers a speech in Shanghai so as to ask for financial support. TUNG kills him but he is also slightly hurt. Meanwhile HAU enters the hotel.

Episode 19

HAU helps TUNG so that he can escape. She suggests that he should give up his career. HOI is suspected as the one who killed YAN by the members of Ching Mu Sect. HOI is not affected and his attitude is appreciated by CHIU. They become friends. LING convinces YAU to renovate the casino. HOI finds that there is a cave in the basement. As HOI sees LING contacting the Japanese, she decides to kill him. YAU is deceived by LING and he believes that HOI lusts for LING's charm. They break up.

Episode 20

YIU is happy as he knows that he can control KEUNG after he has married CHING. LIK is depressed as he loves CHING. JO discovers LING's real identity but HOI does not disclose it as he wants to know her real intention. KEUNG follows HOI's instruction and he goes to the warehouse. There he finds a lot of firearms. HOI accuses LING as a Japanese spy. He proves her identity by brining YAU to the cave where bombs and bullets are stored. As YAU loves LING, he knocks HOI down so as to free LING. KEUNG replaces the firearms with goods and trades with LING. LING and LONG are surprised as there are no firearms. They are surrounded by the members of Ching Mu Sect. KEUNG refuses to accept LING's bribery. He kills LING and escapes. LIK is instructed to kill KEUNG. LIK only chops off his little finger. Moreover he gives KEUNG a train ticket and LAM sends KEUNG to the railway station.

Episode 21

KEUNG has to impersonate a dead man to leave YIU's sphere of influence. CHING worries about KEUNG. HEI is happy as WA has a happy life. In fact WA still misses HOI. HAU is unhappy as HOI refuses her love. TUNG calms her. NAM invites TUNG to work with him. TUNG is trapped in the dilemma. CHAT provides with KEUNG accommodation. When CHAT knows KEUNG's talent, he asks KEUNG to accompany him to meet NGOR. KEUNG refuses as he wants to stay away from gang affairs. NGOR arranges a banquet for him before he leaves. In fact NGOR has asked FU to come. KEUNG has to fight his way out.

KEUNG is hurt and faints in the street. He is saved by CHOI who is KWAN's grandfather. KEUNG is excited as he meets KWAN again. KWAN is entangled by the customers in the restaurant. KEUNG is angry and he asks her to resign. In order to get deposit for KEUNG so as to find him a job, KWAN works as a maid in a brothel. KEUNG forces her to resign again. KEUNG begs the boss of the restaurant to hire them again. His request is accepted as the boss knows that he is an industrious man. CHING worries about KEUNG. LAM tells her that KEUNG is in Hong Kong. YIU regards LIK as his henchman. YIU ignores WA and WA feels humiliated. HOI still loves WA and knows her situation. In order to thank NAM who has saved him once, TUNG decides to work for NAM.

Episode 23

General LAN comes to Shanghai to organize anti-Japanese activities. From HAU, TUNG learns where LAN is. TUNG and NAM go to assassinate LAN. LAN is killed but TUNG leaves his button beside LAN’s corpse. YIU stirs the students to strike in front of Xanado. The French Ambassador suggests HOI to stop his business until the killer is found. CHAT's subordinate TO knows that YIU wants to find KEUNG. Thus he bribes people to find KEUNG. KEUNG meets SHUN and with his assistance, he finds a job of proofreading. KEUNG and his family move to Stanley. He and SHUN trick TO, making him believe that KEUNG has been killed by the fire. YIU is excited to learn the news.

Episode 24

TUNG is arrested and HAU begs HOI to release him. HOI lets go of him as HAU has saved him several times. YAU is discontented. In order to open the casino again, YAU hires two men who admit to be the killers. HOI is unhappy with YAU's dirty trick. After all the difficulties, KEUNG is impressed by KWAN. He asks KWAN to marry him. In order to flatter CHING, LIK spends time on literature and drama. CHING knows his intention and she asks him to give up. LIK tells her that KEUNG is dead. CHING refuses to accept the fact. She wants to set off to Hong Kong to find KEUNG. LAM accompanies her. CHING tells YIU that she wants to visit Tienjin. YIU sends his men to follow her. KEUNG is promoted and KWAN is pregnant. However the happiness is driven away by a piece of news. From the newspaper, KEUNG knows that LAM has arrived.

Thinking that WA humiliates him intentionally, YIU drives WA away and makes WA live in his bungalow alone. WA is being supervised closely by YIU's men. YIU ignores WA and does not visit her. WA is frustrated and depressed. She indulges in taking opium. YAU has conflicts with some Japanese merchants. YIU sends CHEUNG to assist him. YAU is flattered and he thanks YIU. CHING does not give up. LAM does not want to see her torturing herself. He tells CHING where KEUNG is. CHING meets KEUNG but she is shocked by KEUNG who tells her that he has married KWAN. CHING has to return to Shanghai. YIU gets wind of where KEUNG is. He wants to use YAU to get rid of KEUNG by telling YAU KEUNG's address.

YAU and KAM go to Hong Kong to kill KEUNG. As KEUNG is still at work, they kill CHOI, KWAN and HAK in his home. As there are some soldiers approaching, YAU and KAM escape. KEUNG is shocked by the scene as KWAN and the others were killed. Meanwhile, YIU's men also arrive and they shoot KEUNG. KEUNG is hurt and falls into the sea. LIK tries to flatter CHING so as to approach her. CHING does not like him. However her attitude changes as she discovers that LIK is also a kind man who is willing to spend time on visiting orphans frequently. LONG forces TUNG to accept the task by endangering HAU's life. When TUNG knows that HAU loves HOI, he changes his mind and protects HOI. LONG wants to kill HOI. HAU uses her body to protect him. She is shot and hurt.

HOI is impressed. HAU is sent to hospital. She is saved as both HOI and TUNG are willing to donate blood to her. HOI accepts HAU's love. TUNG wants to leave but HOI asks him to stay. TUNG agrees to assist HOI. KEUNG swears to avenge KWAN's death. He joins WAN and contacts Ching Mu Sect to challenge YIU. HEI tells HOI that WA has become a drug addict. HOI visits her and WA regains her self-prestige. WA wants to go to Guangzhou. She asks HOI to go with her. HOI does not know how to turn her down. TUNG tells WA the present situation between HOI and HAU. WA is shocked and decides to withdraw from the triangular entanglement.

WA wants to commit suicide but she is saved by YUK. YIU is angry with her. WA goes to a bar and she is entangled by JEAN, who is the younger brother of the French Ambassador. HOI knows JEAN's filthy intention and he keeps an eye on him. JEAN wants to rape WA and in chaos WA kills him with a gun. HOI comes and they bury the dead body. YIU wants to frame HOI. He manages to convince YAU to help him. JEAN's corpse is found and beside it HOI's chain-bag is discovered. HOI wants to protect WA and he does not tell the truth. He claims that he is the killer. HAU persuades HOI to disclose the fact but in vain. WA is locked up by YIU. HAU goes to the French Ambassador and claims that she is the killer. However KI knows that she was not in Shanghai when the murder was committed. HAU is released.

Episode 29

WA bribes KUEN to collect news for her. When she knows what has happened to HOI, she escapes. WA finds HAU and they go to meet the French Ambassador. However YIU knows their plan and catches WA. WA leaves her handbag inside which HAU finds JEAN's badge and two letters stating what happened. WA humiliates YIU and YIU is driven crazy by her. He kills WA. The French Ambassador go to YIU’s house to question WA. When he knows WA is dead, he sets HOI free. HOI is angry as YIU has killed WA. KEUNG invites HOI to challenge YIU together. KEUNG convinces some students to strike against YIU who has business with YIU. YIU's business is greatly affected.

Episode 30

LIK and KEUNG meet but they are certain that they are enemies instead of friends. YAU is discontented with HOI as HOI supports KEUNG. HAU worries about HOI. TUNG knows her feeling and he reminds HOI how deep HAU's love is. HOI feels that he has the responsibility and he begs HAU to marry him. KEUNG ignores CHING. CHING is depressed. CHING feels guilty when KEUNG tells her that YIU killed KWAN, CHOI and HAK. CHING goes home and questions YIU. She begs YIU to withdraw from his work. KEUNG holds a banquet for businessmen in Shanghai. KEUNG also holds a gathering for schoolmates. YIU's banquet is spoiled. KEUNG tries to kill YIU. YIU escapes from the trap. CHING begs KEUNG to leave Shanghai with her. KEUNG refuses to take her suggestion.

CHING feels lonely as KI and LAM are going to get married. At the same time, CHING cannot accept LIK. KEUNG bribes journalists to criticize YIU. YIU bribes the official to cancel the unfavourable articles. KEUNG knows his plan and he bribes and forces the official to work for him. YIU sends men to lurk the journalists. Luckily JO is not hurt. As HEI is pregnant, HOI urges JO and HEI to leave Shanghai. HAU goes to purchase stuffs for her wedding. When she knows that PAK has sold her necklace given by NG, she is aware that NG's death is related to KAM and PAK. YAU kills KAM and PAK to seal his secret. HAU asks HOI the fact. To protect YAU, HOI refuses to tell her the truth. HAU leaves in grief.

Episode 32

HAU wants to kill YAU to avenge NG's death. HOI protects YAU for he has promised KWAN. HAU leaves in deep grief. Knowing that he is no longer trusted by HOI, YAU decides to seek protection from YIU. KONG is caught and his attempt to assassinate YIU is in vain. MING wants to kidnap CHING but he is stopped by KEUNG. LIK represents YIU to attend a party. After it he accompanies CHING to go home. CHING is shot and LIK protects her with his body. He is seriously hurt. CHING is deeply impressed by his act. She promises to marry LIK. Ching Mu Sect is instructed by the government to close. He nags at YAU in front of other people to make him discontented. Then he asks LIK to bait YAU to work against him. YAU is tricked and he wants to kill YIU but his plan is a failure. YAU has no option by run away. KEUNG finds him and kills him. KEUNG questions LIK about LAM's death. KI and CHING overhear their conversation and CHING is disappointed. She decides to leave LIK. HAU finds HOI in Tienjin but he has become a mentally ill man. HAU is depressed.

HAU gathers two thousand dollars after selling her property. She buys HOI back from the circus. JO, TUNG and KIT bring a doctor to give HOI treatment but it is not certain whether HOI can recover or not. HAU does not want others to be involved. She persuades them to return to Shanghai. HOI walks in the street and finds a gambling stall. He is interested in gambling. HAU worries about him. LAM regains his consciousness. YIU sends LIK to kill him. As they cannot find LAM, YIU sends his people to chase after him. LAM and KI go to get the evidence proving YIU guilty of killing LAM’s father. YIU’s people arrive and kill LAM. Though LIK wants to stop the tragedy but he is late. CHING misunderstands LIK, thinking that he has killed LAM. LIK is unable to make CHING believe him. YIU is so cunning that he announces LIK as the one who killed LAM. KEUNG warns LIK that he should be more careful.

Thinking that HAU has died, HOI jumps down the cliff. YIU bribes CHAN, who is the commissioner sent by the central government. YIU’s dirty tricks are disclosed by CHAN. YIU blames LIK and shirks the accusation to him.

With KEUNG's assistant, HOI gets the name list from Ching Mu Sect. As HAU does not want HOI to betray his country, she commits suicide with poison. H01 is in deep grief.

Suddenly KEUNG and LIK come and YIU is killed. CHING is shocked and sad. CHING cannot forgive KEUNG who has killed her father. She decides to go to France alone. The French Ambassador is discontented with KEUNG and LIK whose influence has become so great in Shanghai. He tries to stir the troubled water between them. However they are not affected as they trust each other. HAU prays day after day and takes care of HOI. Finally HOI recovers. They decide to leave Shanghai and go to Northeast China. HOI warns KEUNG that it is better for him to quit and leave Shanghai. However KEUNG finds that he has no choice but stay in Shanghai, struggling with his opponents.
