Behlül and Elif's decision to marry comes as a surprise to the whole family. Besir witnesses a long-haired woman, whom he mistakes for Nihal, and Behlül kissing on the balcony. Only Deniz realizes that Behlül and Bihter were kissing each other in the middle of the night. Besir openly confronts Behlül with what he saw. Peyker, on the other hand, confronts Bihter with her suspicion. However, she believes that the attraction is one-sided, namely that Behlül alone is interested in her sister.

Mademoiselle, who realizes that Bihter is the shadow that Beşir thinks is Nihal in the dark, is shaken by the reality she faces.
