Their performance was made all the more impressive considering the club's recent managerial difficulties, a Uefa touchline ban for caretaker-boss David O'Leary and the second-half sending off of midfielder Bruno Ribeiro. A similar display will be needed to reverse the deficit against Roma's multi-national squad.
