Paul underestimates his strength when he finds himself surrounded by homophobes, whereas Viv is unsupportive when Bob wants to regain contact with his children.

Episode 4248 (Mon 2nd Jan 2006)

Paul gets annoyed with Ivan's desire to keep their relationship quiet. Viv looks for ways to reward Bob, and Val gives her a few good ideas. Matthew drowns in self-pity and shuts Edna out.

Viv is aghast when Barbara reveals that Bob has one more daughter. Meanwhile, Ivan is furious with Paul when Thelma Louise makes an appearance.

Episode 4250 (Wed 4th Jan 2006)

Betty is troubled by last night's mystery caller and decides to call the number back. She discovers it is in fact the Salvation Army in Hull. Worried Betty tells Alan. She reminds him that if he doesn’t act now he will always wonder ‘what if?’, and so the two of them head off to Hull. Terence covers his shame at living in a hostel by angrily having a go at Alan for turning up unannounced.

Episode 4251 (Thu 5th Jan 2006)

Alan goes to see Terence again in Hull. They go for a drink. At the pub an edgy Terence insists on sticking to a soft drink. Taking their seats, it's awkward and stilted between the two men as they make small talk, trying to reconnect after so many years apart. When talk turns to Terence's living arrangements, Alan confesses he recognises the signs that Terence has a drink problem.

Episode 4252 (Fri 6th Jan 2006)

Alan admits to a stunned Steph that he's seen Terence. Anxious, Alan explains that Terence has fallen on hard times and he would like to invite him to the village to re-establish their relationship. Steph argues against it and asks her father not to bring him here. She eventually walks out. Later, Betty questions Steph's reluctance at a reunion with her brother and probes Alan.

Episode 4253 (Sun 8th Jan 2006)

Terence arrives in Emmerdale. After Tricia's tree planting Alan reveals to Steph that Terence is waiting in the pub and asks her to join them for a drink, Steph is thrown but agrees. Composing herself, Steph prepares to face her brother. When Terence sees Steph entering he greets his long lost sister.

Episode 4254 (Mon 9th Jan 2006)

As Donna and Kelly look through wedding magazines, Donna confides about Viv’s warnings that she’ll look like Tricia in her choice of wedding dress. Up in Marlon’s bedroom they are shocked to stumble across Tricia's wedding gown.

Episode 4255 (Tue 10th Jan 2006)

After a heart to heart with Diane, Marlon asks Donna to meet him and she arrives to find the lounge full of heart shaped balloons. He apologises for the way he has been acting over Tricia and reveals that he has been having dreams about her.

Episode 4256 (Wed 11th Jan 2006)

After Alice’s scan is assessed, she is informed that the baby is in distress and she will need a caesarean section. Aware of the risks of caesarean birth, a frightened Alice urges Lisa to contact Sam. Alice is fetched to go to theatre but with no sign of Sam she spills her heart to Lisa, telling her that if something should happen to her she has to tell Sam how much she loves him and that he must be strong for their son.

Episode 4257 (Thu 12th Jan 2006)

Sam and Alice watch as their baby is delivered and the umbilical cord is cut and clamped. The pair are worried when the baby is taken away but a nurse explains he is fine, he just needs help with his breathing and has been taken to an incubator.

Episode 4258 (Fri 13th Jan 2006)

Finally allowed to see her baby Sam explains he's called their son Samson, Alice, getting the double meaning, loves the name. Alice is enjoying seeing her baby properly for the first time when an alarm goes off on Samson's incubator, Alice worries but Sam, having been shown how to deal with it, takes it in his stride.

Episode 4259 (Sun 15th Jan 2006)

A dejected Danny goes to Connelton View and drunkenly shouts his love for Dawn, insisting Scott is no good for her. Dawn goes to the door and tells him to stop making a fool of himself but when a smug Scott appears, Danny goads him until he's wound-up enough to land a punch. Dawn is appalled by Scott's behaviour and tells him that she wants him out of the house.

Episode 4260 (Mon 16th Jan 2006)

Alice and Sam are distraught as they learn that Alice's Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma is very aggressive and has spread to her central nervous system. The doctor tells Alice that she’ll need to start an intrusive form of chemotherapy as soon possible. Sam is taken aback by Alice's negative attitude and tells her that she’ll have to take her medicine and get better. A terrified Alice insists that she doesn’t have to do anything. Over at Connelton View, Dawn remains adamant that she wants Scott out. He nastily asserts that she won’t be able to pay the mortgage without him and she is left worrying about her financial situation. Terry later offers to lend Dawn £50,000 to buy Scott out.

Episode 4261 (Tue 17th Jan 2006)

Sam tries his hardest to boost a gloomy Alice but nothing seems to lift the shadow that is looming over her. Sam takes her to see Samson but she insists that it's all pointless as she is going to die anyway. Sam is stunned by her brutal words but his attention is soon diverted when Samson's alarm goes off. Sam and Alice stand by feeling hopeless as the nurses resuscitate their tiny baby.

Episode 4262 (Wed 18th Jan 2006)

Sam finds Alice talking through her first chemo treatment with the doctors and wanting no more secrets between them, Alice makes sure Sam understands what will happen. As Alice has her first lumbar puncture, Sam can only cling on to her hand. With Alice in pain afterwards, Sam tries to take her mind off things.

Episode 4263 (Thu 19th Jan 2006)

An angry Dawn tells Jo that she’ll have to find somewhere else to live, but when she later calms down she realises that she can’t afford to lose any more friends and offers an apology. Scott sees the two girls in The Woolpack and he tries to stir up trouble between them. He is left humiliated as they publicly tease him and he decides that he wants revenge. Scott makes a vicious phone call.

Episode 4264 (Fri 20th Jan 2006)

Alice is slightly taken aback to witness another cancer patient's hair come out in clumps. She decides to take control of her own destiny and starts to hack at her hair with a pair of scissors. Later, Sam is taken aback to see Alice with no hair, but she breaks the silence by asking him if he loves her as an egghead. Sam is terrified as the seriousness of Alice's illness hits home.

Episode 4265 (Sun 22nd Jan 2006)

In The Woolpack at Betty’s birthday party, Steph is left feeling second best when Terence gets on well with everyone and even takes to the piano to sing Happy Birthday. Alone with Adam, an upset Steph wonders if her childhood admiration of Terence initiated or prolonged the abuse. Dismayed, Adam tries to assure Steph that victims often feel like they’re to blame but it's unjustified.

Episode 4266 (Mon 23rd Jan 2006)

When Ashley breaks the news to Jasmine that her parents are not returning, Jasmine asks if she can stay and go to school locally. When Ashley hesitates, unsure, Jasmine assumes he doesn’t want her either and feeling upset, she leaves to be alone. Laurel is aghast at Ashley's insensitivity and insists that she is happy to be a guardian to Jasmine. Meanwhile, Sam returns home from hospital with Alice. Lisa tells Sam and Alice about preparations the Dingles will need to make in the house for Samson’s homecoming.

Episode 4267 (Tue 24th Jan 2006)

Nicola reveals to Simon that all she wants is the man she fell in love with and hands over a cheque from Rodney signed to him for £25,000. A confused Simon is stunned. Nicola knows that Simon has refused Rodney's cash before but given their recent arguments over money, hopes that he will accept the cheque for the state of their relationship. Meanwhile, Jasmine tells Debbie that Ashley has changed his mind and agreed to let her stay at the vicarage and attend Hotten Comprehensive. Debbie feels a pang of envy, knowing she's ruined her own academic opportunities and realising how different she is to Jasmine.

Episode 4268 (Wed 25th Jan 2006)

Simon receives a surprise visit from his old flame Natasha Abbott. Later, Simon reveals to Lesley that Tash is in a position to pay him back the £3,000 that she owes him and has also insisted that he accept an additional £2,000 as a thank you. Thinking the money will ease their relationship problems, Lesley urges Simon to tell Nicola. Meanwhile, Terence has been offered a job with the Kings and ponders where to live. Alan feels that he may have outstayed his welcome at Betty’s and reveals that he's considering buying Tug Ghyll, inviting Terence to live with him.

Episode 4269 (Thu 26th Jan 2006)

After a run-in with Terence, Steph lashes out at Adam. She claims that Adam's responsible for dragging up the abuse she had fought to keep hidden. Adam is angry and tells her that he is sick of her mood swings. Stunned, Steph suspects that Adam is doubting her story and orders him out. Elsewhere, Simon admits to Lesley that Nicola’s materialism is getting to him and he wishes they just had a relationship based on love, rather than money. Lesley urges him to face his problems and not give up on his wife-to- be. Meanwhile, Owen tells Len and Pearl that he is desperate to know more about his dad and would like to visit his grave. Pearl is stunned that Owen thinks his father is dead.

Episode 4270 (Fri 27th Jan 2006)

Betty manages to stop Steph from leaving the village for good when she tentatively states that if there is any truth in her abuse claim, Terence will have won if she runs. Sensing Betty has some doubts about Terence, Steph gains strength and tracks Terence down. Refusing to allow him to control her life, Steph threatens to tell the village what he did to her as a child unless he leaves. Claiming that Terence's charm is already wearing thin, Steph believes Betty has seen through him and others will too.

Episode 4271 (Sun 29th Jan 2006)

Betty voices her concerns about Terence, who approaches a nervous Steph in the shop and Steph is shocked when a smiling Terence whispers a threat to her. Viv clocks the tension and later makes a remark to Alan about why Steph and Terence don't get on. Alan questions Viv's comments with Terence who sees an opportunity to cause friction for Betty and so gives the impression that it's Betty that can't be trusted to keep quiet, not Steph.

Episode 4272 (Mon 30th Jan 2006)

Adam is worried for Betty after she discovers Alan and Terence are moving out, but she insists she wants to be left alone. Later, Adam is convinced that something is going on with Steph but initially she refuses to admit she is being threatened by Terence. Meanwhile, at a palm reading evening, Nicola is miffed when she's told her love life may be in trouble. When Simon returns from the pub, Nicola showers Simon with affection but an argument ensues. Also, Tom discovers his visitors are arriving a day earlier than expected and asks Pearl whether Nicola is still providing silver service catering. Pearl spots an opportunity to raise cash to fund her trip to Hong Kong and she tells Tom she has taken over that side of the business and agrees to provide staff for the night. Pearl is chuffed until Len reminds her she's yet to find the man power.

Episode 4273 (Tue 31st Jan 2006)

Nicola flicks through Simon’s phone and is horrified to discover several texts and phone calls to and from Tash. Nicola is convinced that Simon is having an affair but Lesley explains about the money Tash has paid back, forcing her to confront Simon. He explains that he was testing her abilities to live without lots of money and believes she's more in love with the lifestyle they used to have. Furious at being tested, Nicola takes off her engagement ring.

Episode 4274 (Wed 1st Feb 2006)

Lesley and Ivan force Simon and Nicola together for a head to head to sort out their differences. Simon traces their problems back to when he lost the business and is adamant that Nicola only wanted Simon the entrepreneur, not Simon the man. Nicola is hurt and claims the problem is that he has lost his drive and ambition.

Episode 4275 (Thu 2nd Feb 2006)

van offers Nicola some support over her break up and she finds herself falling for him even more. As he offers a shoulder to cry on, Nicola mistakes his concern for attraction and finds herself staring at him adoringly. Ivan's perturbed by Nicola's affection and can’t help but wonder if she's trying to make a pass at him. Paul apologises to Ivan for going through his phone and to prove his trust asks Rodney if he can give Ivan a key to the house.

Episode 4276 (Fri 3rd Feb 2006)

Having been invited for dinner at Mill Cottage, Nicola makes a special effort and dresses to kill. Later, having had too much to drink Nicola makes a pass at Ivan. Feeling bitter about being rejected, Nicola takes Rodney aside and expresses her concern that Paul will end up heartbroken as she doesn’t think Ivan is really gay. Rodney starts to worry for Paul and Nicola is satisfied that she's made him suspicious

Episode 4277 (Sun 5th Feb 2006)

Belle lets slip to a horrified Debbie that Cain is bringing baby Sarah back to the village. Debbie makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with her daughter, and as she packs her bags, she tells her family she is going to London to find Charity. Lisa loses her temper, but Debbie becomes increasingly stubborn, insisting that if Sarah comes back she will have her adopted. Meanwhile, news of Sarah's possible return spreads like wildfire, and Andy can’t wait to have his daughter back in his arms. Elsewhere, Chas tries to spend quality time with her son but she is disappointed when he tells her that he’d rather be with Shadrach than his mother. To make matters worse, Gordon asks if Aaron can stay a little longer and, the young boy makes his feelings crystal clear as he stomps to his room in protest.

Episode 4278 (Mon 6th Feb 2006)

Debbie finds herself all set to become Charity mark two. As the Dingles discuss Sarah's possible return, Debbie decides to give them the message that she doesn't want Sarah back and tips her old cot down the stairs. Lisa tries to stay calm as Debbie tries to get a rise out her but Debbie can see that she is getting to Lisa.

Episode 4279 (Tue 7th Feb 2006)

Debbie goes to look at a hostel, but after seeing the living conditions she swallows her pride and heads back to the Dingles, telling them that she has decided that she wants Sarah back. Their shock turns to anger when she admits that she wants her baby so that she will be able to get her name on the council housing list. Cain tells his daughter that she is poison and she is blanked by the entire family.

Episode 4280 (Wed 8th Feb 2006)

Chas sends Aaron packing when he hits her where it hurts Aaron plays up when Chas won't let him visit Shadrach and Del. Angry that she won't let him do as he likes, he tells her what he heard about Carl and Del sleeping together. Chas storms over to confront Del at the factory and Val quickly calls Carl for back-up.

Episode 4281 (Thu 9th Feb 2006)

Carl desperately tries to reason with Chas, aware that if he can’t talk her around she’ll be heading back to the army. When Carl fails, Del decides to give her cousin a few home truths and she tells Chas that what she had with Carl meant nothing and that Chas would be stupid to let him go. Over at the café, Bob’s ex-wife Barbara turns up with Josh and Carly, telling Viv and Val that she felt guilty about denying Bob time with his kids. Bob realises that he's going to have to act like a blind man, but in order to spare him, Viv and Val decide to tell Barbara that he has been cured.

Episode 4282 (Fri 10th Feb 2006)

Viv is horrified to find that Donna has booked their hen party at an outward bound centre, and is mortified to see that Jean has joined them. Things go from bad to worse as the brides-to-be fall out, and during an argument, Donna blurts out that she wishes she wasn’t getting married. Meanwhile, Jean can’t help but let slip that she has married Bob twice and Viv feels flat, knowing that she is the last in a long line of Bob's conquests. Meanwhile, Dawn goes to see Bob and insists they are going to Derbyshire to attempt to make things up with Josh, Carly and Barbara. Bob apologises to Josh for lying to him about going blind, and tries to convince his son that he's always cared about him. Bob is gutted when Josh refuses to forgive him and returns home convinced he's the worst dad in the world.

Episode 4283 (Mon 13th Feb 2006)

The big snip means that Viv'll never be a mother again. The miserable hen party return to the village and Viv is horrified when the reporter turns up and informs her that the readers have lost interest in Buffy and that they won't be doing a feature on the wedding. Viv swears to make the wedding more appealing to the press and sacks Belle as ring bearer, passing on the role to the rabbit. Bob is furious that Viv could be so cruel and noting Belle's disappointed face, he berates Viv's behaviour.

Episode 4284 (Tue 14th Feb 2006)

The men go to a casino for Marlon and Bob’s stag do. They all watch in amazement as Bob's number comes up. After collecting his money, Bob disappears into the night saying that there is something that he has to do. The other stags are left confused. On the way home from the stag do, Marlon explains to Paddy that he is having doubts about the wedding. Paddy decides to call Donna as Marlon should be bearing his soul to her. Donna catches up with Marlon at Smithy Cottage. Meanwhile, Sam approaches the Kings to sponsor Alice’s wing walk. Tom is impressed and gives generously. Tom thinks back to his wife's struggle with cancer and tells Carl that Sam will need all the help he can get with Alice. Tom later finds Sam and gives him a video camera so that he can film the wing walk.

Episode 4285 (Wed 15th Feb 2006)

The men return to the village and feel terrible as they are forced to tell Viv that Bob has gone missing. Viv is fraught with worry that her wanting a baby has forced Bob away. Meanwhile, when the reception venue cancels at the last minute, Donna is left to try and find a replacement. After some thought, she comes up with the idea of having the reception at The Woolpack. Marlon, however, doesn’t agree but will he be able to find an alternative in such a short space of time. Sam and Alice are told that Samson can go home on Friday. On returning to the Dingles, Alice airs her doubts that Samson is ready to come home. She gets upset and the family worry that everything is getting to her.

Episode 4286/4287 (Thu 16th Feb 2006)

It is the morning of the double wedding and whilst Viv panics that Bob has gone forever, Donna worries that she hasn’t been completely honest with Marlon about Max and she heads off to the Dingles’. Once with Marlon, Donna reveals that she has had wobbles since day one and tells him that she was in love with Max. Marlon is taken aback. Meanwhile, Jean turns up at a hotel to pick Bob up, telling him she has come to take him to the wedding. In the car, when Bob points out that she has driven past the turning for Emmerdale, she slams on her brakes and begs Bob to give their relationship another chance.

Episode 4288 (Fri 17th Feb 2006)

At the Dingles', everyone celebrates Samson’s homecoming. Alice, however, is clearly uneasy and unable to rest as she is worried that Samson will stop breathing. Also, Dawn is stunned when she discovers her mum, Jean, in bed with Terry. She goes to open up the café and ropes Jamie in to help. He is highly amused by last night's shenanigans but Dawn is less than impressed. Betty and Adam are skeptical of the money Terence is borrowing from Alan for his ex-wife. When Betty calls his ex-wife, she hangs up at first mention of his name. Viv, not wanting to see Donna move out to be with new husband Marlon convinces them to remain with her in order to save money.

Episode 4289 (Sun 19th Feb 2006)

Alice is exhausted having stayed up all night with the baby. Sam tells her that she should have woken him, but she says that she was happy to be with her son. Alice tries to change Samson's nappy but struggles as she starts to feel queasy. She explains it's a side effect from the chemo. Alice wants time alone with the baby and sends Sam out. Alice panics when she hears Samson making strange noises and rushes straight to hospital with Del.

Episode 4290 (Mon 20th Feb 2006)

Betty tells Steph that they should go to the police now that they know about Terence's court order to stay away from his wife. Steph tells Betty that it's no good and refuses to involve the police. Meanwhile, Alan questions Terence on the injunction. Terence explains he never hit Janice he was simply fighting her off.

Episode 4291 (Tue 21st Feb 2006)

Terence goes home to find Alan preparing the evening meal. The doorbell goes and Terence is shocked to see it is two officers from the child protection unit. The officers question Terence but he insists that the accusations Steph has made are untrue. After the officers have left, Alan vents his frustration. He is completely supportive of Terence, but states that he is going to the B&B to have it out with Steph and Adam.

Episode 4292 (Wed 22nd Feb 2006)

After yesterday's events, Terence wakes with a sore head and packs his bag. Terence hides his things as Alan arrives and wanting to give him good news, Alan reports that his cheque should have cleared by now and that he'll have a bankers draft made out to Terence for £20,000 later today.

Episode 4293 (Thu 23rd Feb 2006)

Alan is taken to hospital and explains to Steph about Terence's confession and begs for her forgiveness. Steph can't believe that it has taken this to persuade him that she is truthful. Alan feels a failure as a father, not only because of not realising that the abuse was going on, but also because he raised two such troubled children. Steph questions how Alan could have failed to notice that there was a problem.

Episode 4294 (Fri 24th Feb 2006)

Hari discovers that the Sugden's water has been contaminated with antifreeze. Hari assures Andy and Jack that there will be a thorough investigation of how their water came to be contaminated. He says that they'll be looking upstream. Jack suspiciously notes that the Kings' development is upstream, but they decide to leave the officials to investigate.

Episode 4295 (Sun 26th Feb 2006)

Jack's angry when the Kings come up smelling of roses and is convinced the Kings have dumped the antifreeze and along with Andy he shows the environmental officer around. Meanwhile, Daz is subdued convinced he has blown their chance to nail the Kings. Jasmine convinces Daz to tell Andy the truth. Later that day, at the Kings development, the environmental officer questions an aggrieved Matthew and Jimmy. Matthew, a picture of injured innocence, gives the officer the run of the site.

Episode 4296 (Mon 27th Feb 2006)

Andy and Daz take revenge on the Kings. As payback for getting away scot-free yesterday Andy and Daz break into the Kings' development site office and set to work at destroying everything. Later when Jimmy sees the site office devastation he vows that the Sugdens won't get away with their latest reprisal. However Matthew reminds him that whatever he touches gets messed up and states that he will deal with it. Later that day finding Jack, Matthew congratulates the Sugden clan on having the last laugh by trashing the office. News to him, Jack is genuinely baffled, but Matthew warns that they're quits now.

Episode 4297 (Tue 28th Feb 2006)

After a night spent at Katie's bedside the nurse assures Andy that Katie's chances of survival are good. The nurse suggests he chats with Katie, sure that a familiar voice will be soothing to her. Once alone Andy tries speaking but doesn't know what to say. Meanwhile, at Butler's Farm, Jack fills Daz in about Katie. Alarmed, Daz agrees it is terrible news but wonders what it's got to do with Andy.

Episode 4298 (Wed 1st March 2006)

Tom inveigles Carl to keep Matthew away from Sadie. Carl wanting to take his kids horse riding is miffed when Edna regrets all the horses are booked. When Carl suggests using Cossack, Edna awkwardly refuses and suggests he speak to Tom for a reason. When Carl questions Tom, firm that he doesn't tell Matthew, he reveals that Sadie is coming to collect Cossack tomorrow.

Episode 4299 (Thu 2nd March 2006)

Carl discovers that Sadie is coming to collect her horse Cossack tomorrow, and although he feels uneasy about keeping Matthew in the dark, Tom convinces him that it is for the best. Worried about a chance meeting between Sadie and Matthew, Tom invites Matthew and Carl to a golf tournament the following day.

Episode 4300 (Fri 3rd March 2006)

Sadie is clear to Matthew that she and Alasdair are serious. At Oakwell Hall, Matthew and Jimmy arrive for dinner as guests of the Sinclair-Hydes. Both are shocked to see that Sadie has been invited too. During the dinner it is clear Matthew is wounded by the closeness between Sadie and Alasdair. Perdita notes with interest as Sadie and Matthew leave the room.

Episode 4301 (Sun 5th March 2006)

After finding a cryptic poem, Chas heads out to the woods where she is bemused to find a box containing a camcorder. Pressing play, Chas watches in astonishment as Carl romantically proposes. Touched, Chas looks round to see Carl standing nearby, bearing a ring and waiting for an answer. Chas is delighted by the wonderful proposal. Elsewhere, Matthew looks for information about Alasdair. He is disappointed when he finds out he is a multi–millionaire and knows he cannot compete. Later, when Tom confronts Matthew, telling him he knows Sadie was at the dinner, Matthew insists the pair are history. Meanwhile, with Sam’s worries ringing in her ears, Alice starts to have doubts about the wing walk. But when a journalist reveals she has fan mail the pressure mounts.

Episode 4302 (Mon 6th March 2006)

On the day of the wing walk there is no sign of Carl and Chas is certain that he can’t overcome his genuine phobia. However, as Alice’s plane takes off, Chas is amazed to see a petrified Carl following in tandem. Upon landing, Carl looks worse for wear and can barely form a sentence. However, despite being breathless, Carl manages to declare his love for Chas and once again asks her to marry him. Meanwhile, Paul reveals to Ivan that he knows about his aunt's wedding. Ivan reveals that as they have not been together long he doesn’t want to come out to his family. Upset Paul leaves. Angry that Paul has to turn everything into a drama; Ivan turns to Nicola for support. Meanwhile, Alice is still having second thoughts, wondering if the wing walk is a foolish risk.

Episode 4303 (Tue 7th March 2006)

Sure Ivan's ripe for the picking, Nicola goes in for the kill. Having calmed down from yesterday, Paul apologises to Ivan for getting angry but admits he was hurt. Accepting Paul's apology, Ivan and Paul tentatively start making up. Receiving a call from an upset Nicola, Ivan cites that she needs support and heads off. As Nicola tries to apologise to Ivan he cruelly blasts her. Later, Lesley, convinced Nicola and Ivan are having an affair, demands an explanation from Nicola. Still hurting from their earlier conversation, Nicola doesn’t deny the accusation. Disgusted Lesley threatens to tell Paul unless she hands over Mulberry Cottage to Simon. However, refusing to be blackmailed, Nicola tells her to go ahead and tell anyone she wants.

Rodney informs Paul of Ivan’s infidelity, and when a livid Paul confronts Ivan, he is quick to deny the accusations. Annoyed that Paul won’t believe him, Ivan seeks out Nicola. In The Woolpack, Ivan confronts Nicola in front of everyone, insisting she tell the truth. Feigning hurt, Nicola lambastes Ivan for denying that they’ve been together. An angry Rodney intervenes and sends off Ivan as he comforts Nicola. Laurel aware of Nicola's crush on Ivan asks her what is going on. Nicola once again lies and tells her she and Ivan slept together. Rodney continues to comfort Nicola, much to Paul's annoyance. Meanwhile, having misread the signals, Toni is angry when Hari rejects her. However, back at home, her anger turns to upset and she seeks comfort from Paddy.

Rodney realises it takes two to tango and confronts Nicola. Paul arrives at Mill Cottage to see Rodney, but is confronted by Nicola. Initially apologetic, Nicola, provoked by Paul's anger, finds herself telling Paul that she and Ivan were having an ongoing affair. Rodney and Kelly arrive and Paul is saddened that Rodney continues to defend his daughter, even though she is in the wrong. Later Kelly informs Rodney that Nicola is now saying it was an affair with Ivan - Rodney is confused as to why Nicola would lie and resolves to confront her.

A vicious little bitch until the end, Nicola is run out of town. Laurel lets it slip to Ivan that Nicola has admitted she lied. Ivan goes to confront Nicola who is unrepentant and says she will do as she pleases. Later, Laurel challenges her friend again and insists she tell the truth. They have a row, culminating with Laurel throwing Nicola out of Mill Brook Cottage. Nicola really has no-one left.

Jamie arrives back in the village unexpectedly. Bob's delighted to see him, and is encouraged by his son's tales of a successful business venture back in Spain. Enthusiastic, Jamie reveals his new company are looking for investors and urges Bob to chip in with a couple of thousand pounds. Thinking of Viv, Bob's not so sure but, chuffed and proud to see Jamie making a go of it, agrees to the cash.

Bob's gutted when Jamie chooses to leave Emmerdale. Once his dad has handed him the cash Jamie hurriedly packs his bags and sneaks out of the Hopes'. Bob however catches his son mid-flit and is gutted by Jamie's deceit. After trying out some more lies on his father Jamie is finally forced to admit the truth although he warns Bob it's going to sound ridiculous.

Back at home after seeing Jamie leave for the station with Pearl, Viv gives Dawn an earful for not telling her that Jamie had stayed the night. As Dawn tries to defend herself, Viv's clear that there's no time for all that now as they have to get to the station and stop him.

It's celebrations all round at The Woolpack when Dawn passes her driving test. When Jo arrives to join the party she hands Dawn a couple of letters. The celebration becomes even more worthwhile when a letter from Hotten College tells Dawn that she's been accepted on her course.

Viv is convinced that Kelly is the snitch and fills Rodney in. Rodney can't believe that Kelly would sink so low and confronts her. Crushed that Rodney believes the gossips Kelly reveals to Rodney that Scott is the grass. Later Dawn approaches Kelly and Rodney, wanting to finish off what she started yesterday. A chivalrous Rodney steps in and puts Scott in the frame as the grass.

Katie has been given the all clear and is free to leave tomorrow. Although her mother is confident that Katie will love her new life over in Greece, Andy sees that Katie doesn't share her mum's confidence. Later when Chas visits, with Caroline away, Chas twigs the reason for Katie's reticence is because she still has feelings for Andy.

When Daz quizzes Andy about Katie's progress, he informs them that she's leaving hospital with her mum today. Daz is chuffed that they'll be seeing the back of her. Katie tells Chas that she turned down Andy's offer to stay at Butler's Farm but she looks uncertain about the decision she's made. Andy asks Carl if he'll pass on a card to Katie. Seeing Andy is subdued, Carl advises Andy that if you really care for someone you should fight for them.

Jimmy invites Ion, one of the King's new builders to The Woolpack for a congratulatory drink, for all the workforce's hard work. Martin clocks this, over-hears Ion's foreign accent, and wonders to Louise what the Kings are up to. This gives Louise an idea to find out more information for Martin. Whilst collecting glasses later, she quizzes Ion, with detailed questioning. Jimmy notices this and warns Ion that her boyfriend is a copper. Ion's reaction to this news confirms the worst for Jimmy.

Matthew is brooding on Sadie's invitation when Tom interrupts him, and later at Pear Tree Cottage he can't concentrate on work. Meanwhile, Sadie is in a hotel room preparing for her wedding. Rosemary Sinclair helps her future daughter-in-law into the wedding gown. She sarcastically remarks that it's a shame that none of her daughter-in-law's family are able to attend, and attempts to buy Sadie out of the marriage. Sadie turns her down flat.

Sadie marries Alasdair but then goes off with Matthew. Matthew is desperately trying to find the church but is lost. Meanwhile, Tom, Jimmy and Carl speed their way there. With Matthew a no show, Sadie steels herself. There is a noise at the back of the church - it's Tom, Jimmy and Carl. Tom is confident that it's now too late for Matthew.

Sadie is furious when Tom reveals to her and Matthew that Jimmy has been made MD of King & Sons. Matthew demands a settlement and an argument ensues. Jimmy finally agrees to talk to Matthew and offers Holdgate as a goodwill gesture while the lawyers thrash out everything else. Will Matthew accept?

Andy is concerned when Katie's ex-boyfriend announces he is coming to town, but conceals his feelings - leaving her thinking he doesn't care about her after all. When she tries to tell him how she feels, he assumes she's trying to tell him she doesn't want him, and asks her to leave the farm. Jimmy tries to buy Matthew out of the company, and Jasmine accuses Debbie of using her to wind up Cain. Laurel is very reluctantly roped into reviving the choir by Bishop George. George and Ashley visit Wishing Well Cottage to give Alice and Sam money for their fundraiser. Sam tells Alice that since Samson is alright, that must mean Alice will be too.

Having stayed the night at Chas's, Katie tells her that she hoped that she and Andy had a chance of getting back together but says that his behaviour towards her the previous day implied that he's not interested. Jasmine sees Daz, and guilty about neglecting him before, she invites him to talk. Jasmine wishes that he and Debbie would be friends again so that they can all hang out together. Debbie turns up and persuades Jasmine to hang out with her before school. Daz feels uncomfortable in Debbie's presence and refuses to join them. Debbie and Jasmine run into Katie and Andy in the café.

Following Rosemary's arrival with the annulment documents and Sadie refusing to sign, Rosemary is confident today that since the marriage was never consummated, her prenuptial agreement is worthless. However Sadie had planned for this and gets out Sam's video tape from the previous day, with footage of them in the background, that reveals she and Alasdair have been alone since the wedding day. Rosemary watches the footage of Alasdair begging Sadie to take him back, then disappearing into Holdgate Farm with her.

Horsing around, Rosemary gets the last laugh with Sadie. Matthew insists that he should accompany Sadie to the Sinclairs' as he is certain that they won't hand over the settlement without a fight. When they arrive, Rosemary is very cool and she invites them to sample her new French chef's cuisine. After the meal, Rosemary's conducts the handover. As Sadie reads the document Rosemary smugly notes that though the company was worth a million on Friday, it is now worth nothing.

Matthew wants to leave the village with Sadie as soon as possible, but she insists that they can't leave until they've sold Victoria Cottage. Matthew is sure that Tom will buy it, however, when asked, Tom doesn't want to know. Out of the blue, Tom gets a call from his old rival Don Clough.

Rodney decides that now is the time to help Paul out and at The Woolpack’s 70's disco night announces that it's clear Paul still loves Ivan and they should try again. It is evident Paul has moved on from Ivan but there's a flicker of thought from Ivan when Paul moves away. Elsewhere, to make room for shooting parties lodging at the B&B, Steph surprises Adam by moving all his belongings into her room.

Paul apologises to Ivan for his dad's behaviour the previous night and Paul is shocked when Ivan reveals he wants them to start again as lovers. Paul doesn’t feel the same way and tells Ivan they don’t work as a couple and doesn’t think they can be friends either. Ivan decides to leave town for a while. Meanwhile, Nurse Grace tells Adam that she has taken a call from an elderly man asking for details about him.

Steph’s confidence is knocked when Adam’s bright and breezy ex-wife Isla turns up at the B&B to off load more of his belongings. Adam's mood is much better as the caller turned out to be a hypochondriac checking out local doctors. Steph, unaware of this, mistakes Adam's mood change as being solely about Isla. When Isla has gone, Steph is spoiling for a fight.

Steph fears the consequences of what she has told Adam. She tells him that she accepts that their relationship is over, but is terrified that he will report her to the police as it would destroy Alan. Still shocked by the revelation, Adam tells her that he needs time to think. Elsewhere, in desperate need of funds, Lesley and Simon look for a new lodger to replace Ivan.

As Lesley bags up Rodney’s clothes for jumble she comes across his credit card. Although initially she intends to return it, when she finds the millionaire lavishing an expensive gift on Kelly she has a change of heart. Lesley uses the card to pay her phone bill, but as she battles with her conscience she cuts up the card to avoid further temptation. Lesley confides some of her fears in Pearl who is struggling with the loss of beauty treatments and other luxuries as she scrimps for travel fare to see her grandson.

Dawn receives a repayment letter and is devastated by how much she owes. Jamie suggests she asks for a loan from Bob or Jean, but Dawn knows her father is broke and doesn’t want her mother involved. Scott and Dawn argue when Scott is upset about Viv not letting him know sooner that Zoe sent pictures of Jean.

Episode 4333 (Tue 11th April 2006)

Dawn realises Scott has carried out his threat when a policewoman arrives to question her. Dawn's about to confess but Viv comes to her aid by providing an alibi. Later on, Jean arrives to reunite Jamie with his dog, Snoop, and tells Dawn that she intends to sort her out. Her first act is to evict Jo and pay Dawn's debts. Adam panics when Terence comments to Steph about the doctor's past. Luckily for Adam, Steph is preoccupied with her upset over Terence's reappearance and Adam takes the opportunity to suggest they start a new life abroad. Hari and Paddy meet Oakwell Hall’s residents, Grayson and Perdy, in the hope of securing new business.

Episode 4334 (Wed 12th April 2006)

Having taken out a loan to pay off Terence, Adam hopes he’ll soon be rid of him for good. However, Terence demands more money and aggressively insists this is just one of many payments. Frightened by Terence's behaviour, Adam decides the only way to control him is to use some drugs to put him to sleep. Adam panics when he gets a call from Steph saying that she's on her way home, and drags Terence's body down into the cellar. He tries to act normally when Steph gets home but, just as he's convincing her that everything is fine, there's a loud crash from the cellar door – Terence has woken up. Dawn begins to feel suffocated by her mother when she starts picking out potential jobs for her in the paper. Dawn voices her desire to do a childcare course but Jean is dismissive, insisting earning a wage is more important.

Episode 4335 (Thu 13th April 2006)

Full of shock, Steph and Adam have to fight Terence off. Adam hits Terence over the head with a stool but that doesn't stop him. They try escape, but they forgot they locked the door. As Terence chases Steph up the stairs Adam is already up there. Terence begs "Mary" not to leave him, and tries to convince her that she's better off with him. Adam picks up a fire extinguisher and hits Terence over the head with it. Terence falls down the stairs as Steph screams, and he dies with a violent comeuppance. Jack asks Marlon to do the buffet for the young farmers do in May. Marlon makes a comment about farming that offends Jack.

Episode 4336 (Fri 14th April 2006)

When Steph turns down Alan’s lunch invitation, Adam tells her that they must keep up appearances to avoid suspicion and insists they go. During lunch Steph does her best to hide her turmoil but eventually breaks down. Adam manages to get her out of the pub, leaving Jack and Alan concerned. Toni is devastated to learn that Jimmy has given the job to Chas. Seeing her upset, Paddy gives her a comforting hug before bracing himself and admitting that he loves her. Toni gratefully replies that she loves her best mate too.

Various villagers attend church for Easter Sunday. Ashley gives a brief sermon and then announces an Easter Egg competition hosted by Laurel. Lisa and Belle are eager to make an egg; Victoria only becomes interested when she learns there's a prize. She likes an egg until she learns Daz designed it. With Hari's prodding, Paddy buys the biggest egg he can find and begins to pipe icing on intending it to read ‘Toni will you go out with me?’

Val spots Eric in the back of a van and seizes the opportunity to confess her true feelings. She jumps in and closes the door behind her, insisting they need to talk. Val convinces Eric that she doesn’t want to play any more games and wants him back. Unfortunately, as they get passionate in the back of the van, the brake goes off and they careen down the hill, crashing into the Easter Egg competition being held by Laurel and destroying all of the eggs, along with the prize. Hotten Courier reporter McNally tells Eric to expect quite a writeup in the next day's edition.

Wanting to scupper her own chances of getting elected, Val delivers an outlandish manifesto based entirely on the truth about her life. She is convinced her plan has worked and is glad to see Eric happy again. Her plan backfires when McNally tells her in order to drive up newspaper circulation, he's going to help increase her support by painting her as honest and gutsy.

Daz is worried that Jasmine will get sent back to boarding school and tries to talk her out of stealing the alcohol. Jasmine however, insists she’ll be fine. As Louise takes a delivery, Jasmine nervously steals a crate of spirits but as she makes her getaway, is caught by Cain. Jasmine is left confused when Cain promises he won’t tell anyone. Kayleigh has to be helped out after getting so drunk she can barely walk.

Episode 4342 (Fri 21st April 2006)

Diane, Jack and Andy berate Daz for his behaviour and refuse to believe his explanation that he merely took the blame for Jasmine. Later that day Daz tries to comfort Jasmine after an argument with Debbie. He explains why he stuck up for her and attempts to kiss her just as Debbie comes back downstairs. An argument ensues and in a moment of anger a smashed bottle of vodka sends the vicarage up in flames. Debbie frantically tries to escape the fire. Sick and feeling dreadful, Kayleigh gets no sympathy from Martin who is still furious with her. Louise thinks Kayleigh has learnt her lesson through her hangover.

Discovering that the fire was started by a bottle of vodka, Debbie decides to take the rap to protect Daz. After leaving the hospital, Debbie storms out in search of Jasmine after a row with Cain. Ashley tries to keep them apart but Jasmine runs to Debbie telling her how much she misses her. Ashley arrives and tells Jack that Debbie has admitted to starting the fire. Jack is confused after Daz's previous confession. Later, Daz asks Jasmine and Debbie why they protected him and is grateful for the second chance. Meanwhile, at Alice’s hen night, the girls are enjoying tequila slammers before a stripper arrives. Alice is taken aback but Chas and Del are protective and encouraging. Alice is hurt when she realises Del told Chas that her cancer was terminal, but decides to enjoy the night.

Meanwhile, Jimmy outlines his plan to get the show home at the new development completed in double quick time, but Carl worries the schedule is unachievable. Eric promises to call in some favours on the condition that Jimmy allows him to do a photo shoot for publicity at the development.

Val and Eric are delighted to see the newspaper showing her staged kicking of Bolan the dog. Tom tries to take Jean’s mind off Dawn and invites her for a drink. Terry is left disgruntled as he watches the two get to know one another. Later, alone with Jean, Terry reveals his jealousy. Meanwhile, Hari is on a job at Oakwell Hall and is captivated by Perdy’s flirting. When her husband Grayson arrives he is oblivious to his wife's attraction and invites Hari and Paddy to join him at a golf tournament on Tuesday.

Terry and Jean finally admit their feelings for one another. However they both know Dawn will react badly to their relationship and so decide to keep it quiet until she comes out of prison. Later, Jean visits Dawn in prison and she asks after Terry. Meanwhile, Hari bumps into Perdy and the chemistry between them fizzes. To find dirt on Irvin Ward, Eric pulls in a favour from local PI, Colin Matthews. Later, Jimmy recognises him as the detective that Sadie used and tells Kelly. She then informs Rodney.

Convinced he has a source of information on Irvin Ward, Eric heads off to meet Shirley Walsh in a local layby. Eric questions Shirley about Irvin but is taken aback when she gets increasingly frisky. All of this is caught on camera by the Hotten Courier photographer. After telling Paddy that his mum is ill and so he can’t attend the golf tournament Hari meets Perdy in the surgery. Meanwhile, Jean comes up with a plan for her and Terry to stay together and remain a secret. The plan involves using Tom’s affection as a cover up.

A pragmatic Eric tells Val that he has neglected her and promises to spend more time with her. Later Eric learns that his rival, Irvin has gone AWOL and may pull out of the election. Meanwhile, Louise finds Kayleigh writing a letter to her mum. When Kayleigh asks her to check the letter, Louise is shocked to discover that Kayleigh is writing to tell her mum about Louise and how she is happy with her new ‘mum’. Simon is surprised to see Ivan back in the village. They soon ease back into their old ways and their friendship warms over a pint.

It's the day of the election and Eric, Rodney and Val gather to hear the results. Val is not surprised to be revealed as last, but Eric is disappointed not to have done much better. Rodney, however, is delighted that Irvin has won. Elsewhere, whilst searching for the savings book, Len finds an old premium bond and realises he's won £1500. Meanwhile, Kayleigh tells Louise that she overheard her talking to Diane about not wanting to be her mum.

When he catches her at his computer, a desperate and fraught Pearl is forced to admit to Eric what she has been up to. Eric is intrigued and helps Pearl try to access the site, only to reveal that it no longer exists and that Pearl has been a victim of a scam. Pearl is devastated and begs Eric not to tell anyone. Meanwhile, knowing that Rodney is standing for election, Jimmy asks him to look favourably on the Kings if he's elected. Elsewhere, Lesley dolls herself up in the hope that she’ll see her old flame Bobby-John Downes. When she finally sees Bobby-John, she tries to seductively head over to him but doesn’t see The Woolpack trap door has been left open and ends up head over heels on the cellar floor!

Pearl learns that the police have been unable to retrieve the money she lost on the internet scam, and is forced to borrow from Eric. Simon voices his disapproval of Lesley's relationship with Bobby-John, and Rodney tries to use Paul as a means to curry political favour.

Pearl confesses to a furious Len about borrowing money from Pollard, and he insists she tell her friends the truth. Lesley is devastated when she sees Bobby-John flirting with Del and Val, and Simon responds by throwing him out of the house. Paul and Kelly plan to go into business together.

Deciding that he has to clean up Pearl’s mess, Len goes to Eric to pay off the loan and get the ring back. However, when Eric taunts him over the poor quality of the ring, Len snaps and punches him. Later, a furious Eric tells Pearl that their contract states that she must pay him an additional £500 early payment fee. Pearl refuses, but Eric insists that either she pay up or he’ll tell the police that Len assaulted him. Elsewhere, Bobby-John is determined to make things up to Lesley, so he decides to re-create the night he stood her up and arrives in an ill-fitting seventies suit with a motorbike and sidecar! Lesley is clearly charmed. Meanwhile, Rodney surprises Paul and Kelly with the chance to create their own spa and leisure resort.

Lesley and Bobby-John decide to spend a night together at a hotel, but in order to pay for it, Lesley resorts to using Kelly’s credit card. On discovering what his mother has done, Simon rushes to the hotel and confronts Lesley. She is shamed and humiliated as Bobby decides he doesn’t want anything to do with a fraudster. Elsewhere, Jasmine accepts a lift to college from a fast driving Cain. Meanwhile, it's Tom’s birthday and he's expecting a quiet meal at a fancy restaurant. However, much to his horror, he's taken to Dingle homestead to share his birthday with Alice. Having had enough, the Kings and Chas return home, where Tom and Jimmy receive a chastising from Chas. Regretting his behaviour, Tom decides to return to the party.

Lesley decides that she will come clean to Rodney about the credit card. She goes to find him but Bobby-John stops her, telling her they’ll find a way to sort this out together. As they sit in the pub thinking of ways to get out of Lesley's pickle, Rodney starts to accuse Kelly of having an affair. Lesley realises that Kelly is getting the blame for the spending on the card and is forced to confess. Elsewhere, Daz suspects that Jasmine has a boyfriend. He decides to follow her to find out who the boy is, but gets a shock when he spots Jasmine getting amorous with Debbie! Meanwhile, Katie returns from her father's inquest and despite the fact that the coroner's verdict was one of unlawful killing, Katie still feels responsible. She tearfully tells Andy that she and Brian were arguing at the time of the accident.

Debbie sees Daz in the café and tells him that she hopes he isn’t going to get all jealous and ruin things for her and Jasmine. He argues that he could have outed them if he wanted to, and as they bicker, a row escalates and Debbie inadvertently outs herself and Jasmine to the stunned locals. Jasmine is horrified when she hears what has happened and blames Debbie entirely. Later that day, Cain finds an upset and confused Jasmine. He tells her that she can’t know if she's a lesbian as she hasn’t had a man. He moves towards her, as if he is going to kiss her. Elsewhere, Simon finally gives his approval and a love struck Lesley heads off into the sunset with Bobby-John.

Jasmine is desperate to sort out the confusion in her head and she dares Cain to show her what a man can give her that a woman can’t. They kiss and Cain suggests taking things to the bedroom. Later, Debbie finds a distressed Jasmine and has another go at patching things up. Meanwhile, Paddy examines Jonas and tells Andy and Katie that it looks as though he has navicular disease and may need to be put down. That evening, Paddy seems genuinely down as he tells Toni about Jonas and she is moved by Paddy's sensitivity. Also, Steph and Adam return to the village and announce that they got married. The villagers are stunned, particularly Alan, who hints to Adam that he is worried that he's taken on a lot. Adam outlines his happiness and Steph, picking up on her dad's concern, assures him that Adam is her rock.

Steph wakes up full of energy, but after eating the breakfast that Adam prepared for her, she is soon visibly more relaxed. Laurel is the opposite – very groggy and tired. Adam realises Laurel has taken the drugged drink meant for Steph and covers saying it must be a bug. Adam is clearly unnerved by Laurel and Ashley’s presence and later breaks the boiler so they have no option but to move out. Later on, Steph catches Adam adding a pill to her dinner. Shocked, Steph questions him and he explains that the pill calms her down. Elsewhere, Hari tells Katie that certain drugs could prolong Jonas’ life. Paddy fumes that it is unethical to keep a horse alive when you know that it is going to die. However, Hari explains that whereas Paddy sees people as friends, he sees them as customers.

Marlon finds Steph at the B&B in such a deep sleep that he can’t wake her. She begins to stir and tells Marlon that Adam administers her pills. Marlon informs Alan that he is concerned about Steph and Alan's worry grows over Adam's involvement with Steph. Meanwhile, Steph asks Adam if she can stop taking the pills but, with a menacing tone, he refuses. Elsewhere, Paddy tells Katie and Andy that it's not in Jonas’ best interests to be kept alive and the horse is put down. Paddy thanks Toni for her support over the last few days and tells her that he's glad to have a mate like her. Meanwhile, TJ sees Jean and Terry kissing. Terry is asked to work for Tom on his day off and has to take TJ in with him. TJ is drawing a picture when Edna notices that he has drawn a picture of a couple kissing. Jean quickly snatches the picture, arousing Edna's suspicions.

Alan, Marlon and Betty arrive at the B&B for a surprise belated wedding party for Steph and Adam. Steph is clearly on edge and struggles to maintain her composure. She has a flashback to the night Adam murdered Terence and freaks. Adam manages to calm her and puts her to bed but Alan's concern increases. After the guests have left Steph declares that she can’t cope with the lies and plans to confess. Panicked, Adam reminds her that they could go to prison. Seeing Adam panicked, Steph says that she is prepared to shoulder the blame as she loves him so much. Elsewhere, Jean flirts with Tom. Tom later confesses to Terry that he's thinking about asking Jean out. Terry tells Jean about Tom's plan and is alarmed when Jean says that she will accept. Jean promises that it is only to divert people away from their relationship, but Terry worries about Dawn finding out as she comes out of prison the following day.

Adam tries one last time to persuade Steph not to confess to Terence’s murder but to no avail. Steph and Adam go round to see Alan and she blurts out that she killed Terence. Steph leads Alan to where Terence's body is buried, but as they approach the woodlands a chilling shock awaits them. Elsewhere, Jean enjoys her date with Tom, but makes an excuse to cut the night short. Jean tells Terry that she misunderstood Dawn’s point of view and that she would be hurt if they were together. However, they end up in bed and when a flushed Jean returns to Connelton View, Dawn assumes that Tom put a smile on her face.

Episode 4366 (Fri 19th May 2006)

Steph hasn’t slept overnight and Adam suggests to Alan that psychiatric help is needed. Steph loses control after seeing Adam's face and lashes out, striking him. Alan realises Adam is right. The psychiatrist confirms Adam's diagnosis of Steph and explains that she needs to stay in hospital under careful observation. As Alan and Adam go to leave, Steph begs her father to stay with her. It wrenches Alan to leave his sobbing daughter. As the realisation of what he has done starts to hit him, Adam begins to break down. Also, Ivan complains to Matthew about working for the Kings, saying that he feels undervalued and in a rut. Ivan suggests he’d be happy to take a job with Matthew, and annoy Carl into the bargain.

Steph manages to pass her psychiatric assessment and is due to be released. However, Adam panics that his past may catch up with him and he quickly drugs his wife. Steph begins to hallucinate, and out of control, she lashes out, hitting a doctor who is trying to restrain her. As her behaviour suggests that she is far from sane, will Steph be able to prove her sanity? Meanwhile, Dawn tells Jamie and Jean that she is thinking about moving back to Spain. Worried that Dawn is serious Jean and Bob decide they need to make her feel wanted and decide to throw her a surprise party. Will seeing all her family and friends together be enough to persuade Dawn to stay in the village?

Debbie is disappointed when Jasmine tells her that she can’t spend the day with her due to her revision. Later on, when Debbie hears Perdy asking Ashley if the church would be interested in helping collect books and toys for an orphanage in Bosnia, Debbie volunteers their services, hoping that it will give her and Jasmine an opportunity to spend time together. Elsewhere, Steph realises she has to play at being ‘normal’ to be let out of the hospital. Meanwhile, Chas tells Carl the only way to hurt Matthew is through his wallet. Determined to get revenge, Carl is thoughtful about Chas's idea.

When visiting Steph, Alan begins to believe the sincerity of her pleas. Later, Alan quizzes Adam on why he thinks Steph has suddenly turned on him. Suspecting that Alan may believe Steph, Adam acts hurt that Alan could imagine he is capable of murder. Elsewhere, Matthew and Sadie are horrified to find the tyres on their trucks have been slashed. Matthew immediately accuses Carl of the vandalism, but when Chas provides him an alibi Sadie decides that the only way to get to the bottom of the matter is by hiring a security guard.

Episode 4370 (Wed 24th May 2006)

Seeking further revenge, Carl and Chas return to the haulage yard in balaclavas. The pair set about causing destruction but when Carl spots Cain acting as a security guard, the pair leg it. Cain hears the disturbance and follows in hot pursuit. Without Carl realising Chas stumbles on her bad knee and is caught by Cain. As Cain approaches with a crowbar determined to make the intruder pay, Chas screams out and pulls the hat off to reveal her identity. Meanwhile, Jasmine returns a book to Cain and is surprised to find he knows the book in depth. Later, Jasmine is at home with Debbie and finds a parcel. It is the book back from Cain with a note asking her to meet him the following night. Jasmine is left feeling apprehensive but excited by Cain's interest. Meanwhile, Jean keeps pretending to Dawn that she is interested in Tom.

Episode 4371 (Thu 25th May 2006)

Jasmine heads to the haulage yard to meet a smug Cain. He jokes that he knew she would turn up, but Jasmine insists she only came to tell him to back off and states she knows he's only interested in her to try and hurt Debbie. Skilful, Cain charms her, insisting there's far more between them and he knows she's not gay. Jasmine confesses to all of her confusion and Cain insists that the only way to find out her true sexuality is to try other options. Flattered by his attention, Jasmine gives in to her desire. Later, Cain tells Matthew that he saw off the intruders but as it involved violence he has wiped the security tape as he doesn’t want a counter charge on his hands. Cain later tries to blackmail Carl with the tape. Elsewhere, Dawn decides to match make Tom and her mother, so she tells Mr King that Jean is keen. When Tom asks her out, Jean is forced to accept, much to Terry’s horror!

Jasmine breaks down in front of Laurel and blurts out that she has had sex with a boy from school. She admits she is worried she might be pregnant. Laurel is mortified and insists she goes to get the morning after pill. Jasmine assures her that she will and Laurel promises not to tell Ashley. Later, Jasmine is at the bus stop when Cain drives up and demands she get in. Jasmine hesitates but gives in before she accuses Cain of using her. He promises he isn’t and tries to convince her with a passionate kiss. Thrilled but trying to remain cool, Jasmine asks Cain to run her into Hotten to get the morning after pill. Jasmine arrives home and tells Laurel she has taken the appropriate action. Relieved Laurel urges Jasmine to confide in Debbie, oblivious to the fact that she has slept with her girlfriend's father. Elsewhere, after being forced to tell Tom she isn’t interested. Jean is driven home by Terry.

Tom sees Terry and Jean leaving the police station and they are forced to admit to him that they have been dating for ages. Tom is outraged and states he can no longer work with either of them and fires them. Dawn finds out after Tom tells Edna what had happened and is furious, telling Jean that she and Terry will no longer see TJ as long as they are together. Meanwhile, while with Debbie, Jasmine receives a text from Cain asking her to meet him the next day. Elsewhere, Toni is forced to listen to a drunken Paddy wax lyrical about Del.

Del desperately tries to teach Titch some tricks but the pup runs away. She searches for the runaway dog as Chas comes out of The Woolpack. Still angry with Del, Chas starts an argument. As a furious Chas jumps in her car and speeds away, Titch comes bounding round the side of the pub. Del screams but it is too late as Chas hits the dog. Del rushes Titch to Paddy who performs an emergency operation. Elsewhere, worried that Cain will blow their secret, Jasmine heads off to find the devious Dingle. However, when she discovers him alone with Samson she sees the bad boy in a new light. Meanwhile, Dawn decides she is taking TJ on holiday to Cornwall. Terry, however, is left worried she may not return with his son.

Paddy confesses to Del that Titch may not get better. Del admits she knew he was lying so as not to hurt her feelings and the pair share a kiss. Meanwhile, at Butler's Farm, Jamie and Katie are deep in conversation. Jo makes a remark to Andy that it seems Jamie fancies Katie. Desperate to pay back Eric, Pearl decides to partake in a home-working scheme making silk flowers.

At his BBQ, Andy gets more and more jealous of Jamie and Katie spending time talking. Later, Katie finds Andy drunk and he admits he cannot bear to see her fawning all over Jamie. The couple argue and Andy angrily brings up Katie's past misdemeanours. Shocked by Andy’s outburst, Katie reminds him she has apologised for her past mistakes and she cannot stop other men flirting with her. She informs him that if he cannot let go of the past, there may not be a future for them. Also at the BBQ, Toni plays the concerned friend and she warns Del that Paddy is on the rebound, revealing all about Paddy confessing his love to her. Furious Del confronts Paddy. Elsewhere, Pearl has to work through the night to complete the silk flowers.

Episode 4377 (Thu 1st June 2006)

Determined to finish the silk flower order, and with Eric out of the factory, Pearl continues to make them. When Eric catches her, he fires her on the spot as well as demanding all his money back by 5pm the next day. Pearl starts to despair. Meanwhile, Daz’s mum Denise returns to the village after Victoria calls her. A reluctant Daz finally gives his mother a chance but tells her he is going back to live at Butler's Farm with Andy and Katie and therefore will not be leaving with her. Jack and Andy are angry with Victoria and she is grounded. After Andy tells her what it is like to have a mother like Denise, she snaps and storms upstairs. She later apologises. Diane confronts Jack and tells him to put her and Victoria first instead of focusing his worry on Andy, Daz and the farm. Elsewhere, Toni realises she messed up with Paddy and tries to patch things up.

Pearl shares her woes with Edna who urges her to be honest with Len. Later, Val asks for information on the investment scheme. Knowing that Eric needs paying that day, Pearl takes Val's money pretending to invest it. Hating herself, Pearl repays Eric but he is clearly suspicious. Looking for some common ground between herself and Daz, Diane hits on the idea of offering him a job glass collecting at the pub. However Jack is not happy with the idea and confronts Diane. Meanwhile, at the night café Shadrach turns up expecting a freebie from Donna. Donna, however, warns him off.

Donna works hard to make the night café a success and is furious when the Dingles come in demanding that as they are family they should eat for free. Donna insists that she is pressing charges against Shadrach and a horrified Marlon urges her to reconsider. She refuses to back down and Zak tells her that she must stand before the Dingle court. She storms out telling Marlon that he must choose – his family or her. Over in the Woolpack, Daz works as a glass collector but he cheekily drinks the dregs from the glasses

Victoria is fed up of the arguments between Jack and Diane and she cruelly implies to Daz that they are getting divorced. An upset Daz runs off to Seth's hide and Jack later finds him. At an all-time low, Daz tells Jack that he plans to put himself back into care. Jack insists that Daz has a home with him and Diane, and suggests that they make it official.

Episode 4382 (Wed 7th June 2006)

Diane is furious to hear from Victoria that Jack has told Daz that they are going to adopt him. It's the last thing Diane wants to do, but she can’t bear to break the young lads heart. Sensing that Diane doesn’t want to be his guardian, he goes to see her and thanks her for everything, saying that he would rather she was his friend than his mother and that he has decided to move back in with Andy and Katie. Diane is moved to tears and Daz hugs her before heading off.

Rodney is horrified when a story appears in the Hotten Courier stating that his son is a transvestite and his girlfriend is a porn star. Kelly and Paul are hurt, feeling that Rodney has let them down. A photographer suggests Eric and Rodney pose for a picture together but when Eric makes a cutting remark about Kelly, Rodney lamps him and the whole thing is caught on camera. Elsewhere, Marlon prepares Del and Paddy an aphrodisiac meal and then leaves them to it. They are about to head upstairs when a jealous Toni interrupts them and, knowing exactly what she is doing, hangs around as long as possible. Meanwhile, Alan finally decides to go and see Steph and, he cuts to the chase, asking her outright if she killed Terence. She sticks to her story that Adam killed Terence.

Viv is sure that she has pregnancy symptoms so announces she is expecting during a family lunch. The stunned family are unconvinced, so Viv rushes to see the doctor for confirmation. Bob is devastated when Adam explains the test is negative, but refusing to give up, Viv lists her ‘pregnancy’ symptoms. She is horrified when Adam explains it sounds like she's going through the menopause!

Daz tells Katie that he’ll be watching her and is just waiting for her to slip up. She tells him he better get used to her being around because she isn’t going anywhere and he retaliates by making a dig about all the men she has had. Angrily, Katie slaps him. Elsewhere, Buffy the rabbit gives birth to a surprise litter of baby bunnies. Viv sees this as a positive sign and vows that she is determined to get pregnant, whatever it takes. Meanwhile, Eric sees a happy Rodney with Kelly and Paul, leaving his election victory seeming hollow.

Bob suggests that he and Viv perhaps consider surrogacy. Meanwhile, Donna and Marlon are gutted that they have been refused a mortgage. Viv hits on a plan and propositions Donna - she will pay her house deposit in return for the use of her womb! Over at Butler's Farm, Andy is angry at Daz when he catches him shouting at Katie. Daz gets upset and, when he fails to get in touch with Jasmine, he rings his mother. Elsewhere, Cain tells Jasmine to end her relationship with Debbie.

Edna is furious when she catches mischievous Kayleigh and Victoria in her house rifling through her things. An angry Edna loses her temper and in a lost moment she lashes out, slapping a stunned Victoria. Meanwhile, Viv desperately tries to convince Donna to be a surrogate mother for her and Bob. With Donna unnerved at the thought of carrying her own sibling and Marlon having nightmares, will sensible Bob put his foot down? Daz is shocked when Jasmine confesses to him that she is seeing Cain. Daz reacts badly to the news and when he returns home he takes his anger out on Katie. Expecting him to be violent, Katie is shocked when he kisses her, determined to prove she is a slag. Revolted, Katie agrees not to tell Andy, however, they are unaware that Jo has spotted the kiss from a distance. Meanwhile, Sadie and Perdita are both out riding. Sadie slaps the hindquarters of Perdita's horse and it rears as she struggles to control it. Later, Sadie finds the horse without Perdita. Elsewhere, Debbie sees Jasmine and Daz together and wrongly assumes they are a couple.

Daz is at the end of his tether and calls his mum for a second time. When she visits, he tells her he wants to leave the village and go with her. Andy is upset by Daz's decision, but he is forced to say farewell to his brother. When Katie suggests that Jo also moves out, the manipulative lodger blackmails her, telling her that she saw the kiss with Daz. Before he leaves the village, Daz warns Debbie that Jasmine is not all she thinks she is, leaving her worried about what he is implying. Elsewhere, Ashley is horrified to find a box of condoms amongst Jasmine's stuff and confronts the teenager.

Jasmine tells Cain they must end things before Debbie finds out. As the pair share one last passionate kiss, Debbie appears and is devastated by what she sees. Meanwhile, the Chugspokes, who are staying with the Dingles, send their pig out looking for truffles. When the pig fails to find any, they realises that Belle’s pig, Petal, has a special talent and decide that they need her instead. Elsewhere, Jo continues to blackmail Katie, leaving Katie terrified that Andy could hear about Daz kissing her.

Cain admits to a disgusted Jasmine that he used her to get at Debbie. Their conversation is overheard by a mischievous Sadie and she later confronts Jasmine about it. Meanwhile, Debbie declares that Cain has lost her and Sarah forever and vows revenge. Elsewhere, Katie demands that Jo stops blackmailing her. With Andy oblivious to the situation, Katie fears that Jo could wreck things for the couple forever. Meanwhile, Simon accepts an offer on Mulberry Cottage. But he is the only one celebrating as Ashley, Laurel and Sandy agonize about being made homeless.

Dawn returns from holiday and informs her mum that although she can never be happy for her and Terry, she will accept it for now. Later, she confides in Jamie that her future plans mean that she won’t have to tolerate the situation much longer. Over at the Dingles’, Debbie storms out with a final threat to Cain that she hasn’t forgotten his betrayal. She reminds Cain that the rest of the village will be disgusted to learn of his affair with Jasmine. Debbie is offered a bed at Home Farm with Chas. Meanwhile, Shadrach, Beryl and Barney have a lucky escape as they flee from a truffle hunt. Later, Shadrach secretly plots his revenge when he overhears the Chugspokes making fun of him.

Episode 4393 (Wed 21st June 2006)

After Shadrach fakes a sore leg, the Chugspokes go on the truffle hunt alone. He finds their secret stash before Beryl and Barney are caught by the ground keepers and banished by the Dingles. Beryl is suspicious of Shadrach's scheming but he is thanked by Zak and Lisa. Meanwhile, Bob overhears Jamie telling Scott that Dawn is moving away. He is devastated and heads off to try and change her mind. Scott deviously tells Terry who confronts Dawn in The Woolpack. They argue and later, Terry drops a bombshell that could change everything. Also, Del and Val are concerned that Pearl has lost their money in an internet company. Pearl agrees to show them the website.

Episode 4394 (Thu 22nd June 2006)

Terry and Jean argue over Terry's custody battle with Dawn. Later, Jean tells Dawn who threatens to bring up her mother's relationship in court. When Terry finds out about their conversation he is livid and demands to know who Jean will support in court. Meanwhile, Pearl sabotages the factory computer so Del and Val are unable to check their investments. Pearl hatches a plan and borrows some money from Danny. He is under the impression that the money is for an anniversary present for Len. Elsewhere Belle uncovers Shadrach’s involvement in the truffle scam. After questioning the scoundrel she teases a confession that he planned to steal Petal. After she informs the rest of the Dingles, Shadrach is left with a very fitting punishment.

Episode 4395 (Fri 23rd June 2006)

Pearl is delighted when her gamble pays off, but after the bookmaker convinces her to make further bets she ends up in a lot of debt. Meanwhile, Terry resigns himself to the fact that Dawn and TJ are moving away. Shadrach is forced to wait on Belle hand and foot. Matthew and Tom have a civil conversation; Matthew being pleased at their progress makes Sadie feel uneasy.

Pearl avoids confessing to Len about the trouble she is in, and at the factory things get worse when Val tells Del about the scam. Later, the two of them tell Len everything and he takes Danny with him to find her. Meanwhile, Jack and Zak have to conjure up another plan to sabotage the development after the estate agent returns. She is initially impressed with the tour of the site until she finds a drunken Shadrach relieving himself against one of the houses. Also, Bob is worried about Viv as she considers IVF treatment. However, Viv is adamant and demands that the tests continue.

Jimmy confronts Jack over his involvement in Shadrach’s antics. Jack is pleased to have wound Jimmy up, but denies any part when a digger attacks the show house. The pair exchange words outside The Woolpack and things are about to get violent before Diane separates them. Jimmy tells Carl that the show house will be ready in time. Meanwhile, Viv is told that she could never carry a baby even if she became pregnant. She gets upset, feeling that she has failed Bob. In an attempt to cheer her up Bob resorts to the only option they have left. Elsewhere, Len is angry and upset that nobody told him about Pearl’s problems. Later, he and Danny ring around, desperate to find her.

Viv welcomes Kelly back from Italy but immediately requests for her to be a surrogate for her and Bob. Kelly is horrified and tells Bob about the incident. Bob confronts Viv and they agree to find a more appropriate surrogate. Over at the Kings’, Jimmy lies to Tom and Carl that an engineer has inspected the damaged show home. Jimmy becomes stressed as he tries to sell his prize draw tickets and when Jack winds him up he becomes short of breath and collapses. The worried Kings rally around. Meanwhile, Sadie is stunned when Cain threatens that if she doesn’t sleep with him, he’ll tell Tom that she asked him to damage the show home.

Donna and Marlon discover that they have won a house in the prize draw. However, their joy soon turns to shock when they discover they still have to pay £6,000 as a deposit. After struggling to borrow the money the couple are left wondering where to turn for help. Meanwhile, Viv and Bob are shocked to discover the mammoth cost of a surrogate as well as the slender legal position they would be in as parents. That evening Donna finds Viv drunk and crying. Meanwhile, Marlon is astonished when Donna tells him that she agreed to be Viv and Bob’s surrogate. After he calms down she convinces him that this will help her mother and get them a dream house as well. The couple hand over the deposit cheque to Carl. Also, Debbie is upset when Scott hires an apprentice, Wayne. After Wayne tries to chat her up she uses it to her advantage and shares all of Scott's horror stories with him. Later, she watches in glee when, after Wayne mentions Zoe, Scott fires him. Debbie is thrilled when she is offered the job as Scott's new apprentice.

Sadie receives a text from Cain asking to meet her in a country lane. He blackmails her into kissing him and, as she does, they hear a click and see a flash. A smug Jimmy has managed to capture the moment on camera. That evening, Sadie and Matthew have dinner at Home Farm and Jimmy enjoys watching Sadie sweat as he gets out his camera. Meanwhile, Viv lectures Donna on treating her body with special care in order to prepare for the baby. As she tells Donna what she can and can’t eat and drink, Donna begins to wonder if she's doing the right thing. Ashley is worried about Jasmine. When he witnesses a row between her and Debbie he tries to get to the bottom of the problem. A worried Rodney continues to press Eric about planning permission.

Episode 4402 (5th July 2006) (Wed Part 1)

Sadie asks Cain to tell Jimmy that he's got it wrong about them being a couple. Cain refuses and says that if Matthew asks, he’ll say they’ve been at it for weeks. Later on, Sadie gets revenge on Cain by letting slip to Ashley that she has heard that Jasmine has been seeing Cain. Furious, Ashley storms round to the pub and he grabs Cain, slamming him against the bar. Cain snidely insists that Jasmine was gagging for it, so Ashley sends him backwards into the counter with a punch. Meanwhile, Zak and Lisa are appalled by Cain's behaviour and kick him out of the house. Zak tells him that he brings shame to the Dingle name and he disowns him. Cain drives away from the village, but not before telling Sadie that he can’t wait until she loses everything.

Episode 4403 (5th July 2006) (Wed Part 2)

Jasmine apologises to Debbie and tells her that Cain only did it to get at her. She tells Debbie that she feels used and breaks down as she explains that she knows how it feels to lose your family as now Laurel and Ashley are fighting and may split up. Meanwhile, the atmosphere is tense between Laurel and Ashley and, despite Laurel making it clear that she is sorry, Ashley refuses to accept her apology. Laurel protests that she didn’t tell him because she knew he would over react. Questioning Adam’s nurse, Alan is shocked when she tells him that Terence had gone to the surgery on 9th April, remembering the date as it was her mother's birthday. Alan demands to see Adam.

Alan is desperate for Steph to get out of the clinic and he says he will help her to pass her assessment. However, Steph has become institutionalized and isn’t sure she wants to leave. Alan eventually convinces her that she must fight and she gets out by saying she made the whole thing up and only said Adam killed Terence to get his attention. Meanwhile, Jamie asks Katie to do a few night shifts at the café. She agrees, but Andy looks decidedly uncomfortable with his wife's decision.

Episode 4405 (Fri 7th July 2006)

At the B&B, Steph searches through Adam's belongings, sure that Terence had unveiled a dark secret and looking for evidence. Steph eventually finds two passports, one is in the name of Adam Forsythe, the other Peter Jones. Adam comes home and Steph demands an explanation. Steph forces a full confession out of Adam who’ is unaware that she has concealed a tape recorder. Steph calmly kisses Adam, but he grabs her wrists.

Episode 4406/4407 (Tue 11th July 2006)

Steph tries to persuade Adam to let her go, offering to run away with him so they can escape the murder charge. Feeling he can trust her, Adam unties Steph. She checks the dictaphone is still on and then bashes Adam over the head with the nearest heavy object she finds. Steph takes the tape of Adam's confession to the police, but things don't work out as planned. Jo plays on Andy's insecurity by suggesting Katie finds him boring. Dawn tells Donna about the new man in her life and her plans to start over in Newquay. Terry is furious when Dawn's new boyfriend arrives in the village, and soon learns they're leaving for Cornwall tomorrow. Sadie fears rejection by the Kings as Matthew is welcomed back into the fold.

Sadie goes to see Jimmy to ask him to stop blackmailing her. He tells her that he’ll delete the photo of her and Cain if she sleeps with him, insisting it must happen today. Sadie has no choice but to agree to meet him in an hour. She pops home only to find that Matthew has prepared them a romantic meal. He gets out a diamond ring and asks her to marry him.

The villagers gather at the King's show house opening and as Tom welcomes everyone, he takes the opportunity to announce that Matthew and Sadie have got engaged. A frustrated Jimmy is still determined to get what he wants from Sadie and he follows her upstairs and pushes her into the showroom bathroom. As Noreen is waiting for the toilet to become vacant she busies herself by opening the airing cupboard door.

Jack and Andy arrive at the devastating scene and begin frantically searching through the debris for Diane. Meanwhile, Dawn is pulled from the wreckage and a relieved Bob rushes over as his daughter tells him that she is alive. As Dawn is rushed to hospital with Bob by her side, the Kings are still looking for Jimmy. John, a rescue worker, shouts that he has found a hand. Val recognises it as Diane's and when John tells her that Diane is breathing through an air hole,

The entire village is rocked with grief and devastation as they desperately try to come to terms with the loss of lives following the house collapse. Jack, after spotting the Health and Safety Executive in the pub, makes sure they know about the JCB banging into the show house. Meanwhile, Carl and Matthew realise they're going to need to get a solicitor. When the Health and Safety Executive arrive at Home Farm they question Tom and his sons about the JCB incident. Carl tells them that Jimmy got a structural engineer in after the incident. Elsewhere, Sam becomes annoyed with Alice when he finds her planning her own funeral. He tells her that he supported her through the wing walk and has always been there to hold her hand but he just can't cope with this.

Carl and Matthew come to terms with the fact that if Jimmy didn't repair the house properly after the JCB incident, King & Sons are in serious trouble. Later that day, Matthew becomes suspicious of whether his fiancé, Sadie, was having an affair with Cain and he questions him. Cain, however, just cryptically tells Matthew that he should find Jimmy's camera.

The police tell Alan that they have found Terence's body in the foundations of the show home. Alan is scared that Steph will now get blamed for his death. Meanwhile, at the B&B, the police arrive to take Steph away for questioning about Terence's death. Over at the Dingles’, Sam catches Cain taking money from the Dingles’ pot. Eli also witnesses this and wades in, overpowering Cain and getting the money back. Zak, however, is not impressed and tries to reassert his place as head of the family deciding that it is time that Eli moves out. Sam is gutted, but after seeing Sam and Eli say their goodbyes, Zak reneges and allows Eli to stay.

Episode 4416 (Thu 20th July 2006)

The villagers organise a meeting. They want to take the Kings to court over the deaths at the development. Jack begins by filling the villagers in on what his solicitor had said yesterday. Grayson, however, intervenes and informs the villagers that they will need excellent legal advice to bring the Kings to justice and even then it will be a long drawn out process. Meanwhile, at the meeting, Eli lashes out at Tom before squaring up to Matthew when the latter arrives. Marlon tries to convince Eli that violence isn't the answer but, when things at the meeting look doomed before they have begun, Eli tells Marlon that he should take matters into his own hands. Even though her father is adamant that she is innocent, when Steph is released on bail and heads to The Woolpack, the villagers are disgusted to see her.

Episode 4417 (Fri 21st July 2006)

The police discover that Adam had been practicing medicine under his late father's name and question Steph but it is clear that she didn't know about Adam's past. Later that day, the police tell Alan that they believe Terence was blackmailing Adam and that this still leaves Steph and Adam with a motive for his murder. Meanwhile, Danny tries to convince Len to find Pearl but Len just utters that it is better if she stays away as there will just be a lynch mob waiting for her. Danny suggests they could pay off Pearl's debts to her friends.

Eric tells the police that he loaned Adam money so that he could get away from Steph. Meanwhile, word starts to spread about Adam’s illegal practice, prompting Diane and Shadrach to try and convince Alice to sue the health authority. Elsewhere, the police arrive to take Len’s statement forcing Danny and Edna to admit that they have reported Pearl missing to the police. Len admits to Danny that he still loves Pearl. Driven half mad by grief, Bob locks himself inside Pear Tree Cottage and demands that the Kings admit responsibility for the house collapse.

Steph spends the day trying to get on with her life and Alan is proud of her. However, later that day the police arrive at the Woolpack and arrest Steph in front of everyone. Meanwhile, Simon receives a message from Tash, saying she is coming to see him.

Simon is shocked to find that Tash has brought her fiancé Russell along and has only arranged the meeting with him to ask him to give her away. A devastated and drunken Simon is comforted by Diane but embarrassingly misreads her goodwill. Meanwhile, Steph refuses to plead unfit to go to trial at her bail hearing and pleads not guilty.

Episode 4421 (Wed 26th July 2006)

It is the day of Dawn's funeral and Viv feels sick. As the funeral procession head toward the church, Donna goes inside to see what's taking Viv so long and arrives just in time for her mother to faint. Donna takes Viv to the hospital, where she is told that she is pregnant. Meanwhile, at the funeral, Bob gives a heartfelt eulogy to his daughter but can't go on and is led back to his seat by Jean. Following the wake, Bob returns to the graveyard to find Alice paying her respects and he confides in her about his absence from most of Dawn's life. Elsewhere, Ashley and Sandy make Jasmine go to the doctor's when she is too ill to go to the funeral. Afterwards, Jasmine tells Sandy that the doctor told her she has a stomach bug.

Alice is unwell and falls on her way to answer the phone. Once on the floor she realises that she can't move her legs. When the doctor arrives he thinks that Alice would get better care at the hospital. Elsewhere, Matthew takes control of the haulage firm again and admits to Tom that Sadie was having an affair with Cain.

Alice’s cancer is beginning to get the better of her. When the doctor arrives with more bad news, the Dingles realise she only has weeks to live. The doctor suggests she move into a hospice but Alice insists on staying at home with Sam and Samson. Meanwhile, Matthew and Sadie are at loggerheads in the haulage yard office. Matthew threatens Sadie and tells her that he'll tell people the truth about the JCB incident. Elsewhere, when Sandy overhears Jasmine failing to rearrange her abortion appointment, he asks Jasmine outright if she is pregnant.

Alice is feeling weaker and gets upset after struggling to hold her baby. She realises that she hasn’t got much time left and decides that she wants her agony to end. With that in mind she asks Sam to help her die. Meanwhile, Matthew is furious when Sadie allows Ivan and Simon to leave their jobs. He threatens his former fiancée after she criticises his business management and tells her that he could make her disappear. Elsewhere, Laurel returns from her break and promises to be open with Ashley from now on.

Sam can't come to terms with Alice's request. Marlon talks to him and they discuss how he let Tricia go. After sharing an emotional moment with his wife, Sam tells her that he'll do anything she wants. Alice says to him that she needs morphine so Sam goes to see Marlon again and asks his cousin to help. He is a little reluctant at first but finally agrees and they obtain the morphine from Eli. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the Dingles, Alice says her final goodbyes. When Sam returns home he is left alone with Alice and fills a syringe with the drug. After he struggles to push down the syringe, Alice tells him that she is strong enough to do it herself.

The Dingles are adamant that nobody can ever know the truth about Alice's death. Zak tells Sam about the consequences of his actions and the family relax when the doctor writes a death certificate. Later, when Sam watches Alice's tape with Samson, he is in complete agony.

Sam begins to make Alice’s funeral arrangements with Ashley. However, he reveals too much about her death and the vicar realises that Sam may have committed an act of euthanasia. Meanwhile, Jasmine can’t believe her luck when Ashley gives her a cheque for a school trip instead of cash. Sandy gets his granddaughter a job at the factory to earn her own wage. Also, Ivan has to reassure Simon about their trip to Costa Rica. Later, their leaving party in The Woolpack is a low key affair with Rodney trying his best to embarrass the pair of them.

Jasmine fails to secure an advance from the factory and is forced to tell Cain that she's pregnant. When she asks him for money to pay for an abortion he is convinced that it is a lie and laughs it off. Meanwhile, Ashley confronts Zak about Sam’s part in Alice’s death. Zak firmly denies his son caused her death and tells Ashley that Sam is confused. Later, Sam is angered when Zak and Lisa tell him to lie to the villagers about the death. Elsewhere, Toni reveals her feelings to Paddy. He is embarrassed and thinks that she is joking. That evening she convinces Paddy that everything she said was true, only to be interrupted by Del.

Toni tries to convince Paddy that her feelings are genuine, but he still believes she is joking. After Marlon tells Paddy to stay away from Toni, Paddy confronts her, saying that he's with Del and has moved on. Elsewhere, Debbie takes pleasure in watching Jasmine suffer. After initially refusing to help her former friend she has a change of heart and goes to see Cain to demand the abortion money. Meanwhile, Laurel tries to talk to Ashley about what's bothering him.

Jasmine is shocked when Cain tells her to have the baby and that he’ll bring the child up. Cain later confides in Sadie that he would like the opportunity to be a father again. Sadie sneakily goes to Jasmine and tells her that she knows about the pregnancy, before producing an envelope full of money. Elsewhere, Paddy has a lot of grovelling to do when he sleepily calls Del 'Toni' by mistake. Paddy insists it was an innocent slip of the tongue. Meanwhile, Val toasts the memory of Noreen by buying everybody drinks in The Woolpack.

When Cain can’t contact Jasmine and Debbie he fears the worst for his baby. He goes to ask Ashley and Laurel if they knows of their whereabouts. They are stunned when Cain angrily tells them that they are bound to have gone off so that Jasmine can abort his child. When the girls return Cain angrily confronts them. Elsewhere, an emotional Ashley takes his rage over Jasmine and Cain out on the Dingles who are drinking in memory of Alice. Diane takes the angry vicar outside to calm him down. Meanwhile, after spending the day together Del gives Paddy an ultimatum saying the only way they can be together is if Toni moves out.

Martin tells Louise that he overhead Ashley telling Diane that Sam helped Alice die. He begins an investigation by going to see Dr Abbot. She tells him that there was nothing suspicious about the death. Meanwhile, it is the day of Alice's funeral and Sam wants everything to go as she had planned. The Dingles gather together and remind themselves that a Dingle funeral should be fun, not a sad occasion. But as Belle lays flowers on the coffin the group can’t help but be tearful. Sam struggles to keep it together when the funeral is interrupted by some uninvited guests.

The police turn up outside at the Dingle homestead with a warrant to arrest Sam for Alice’s murder. Zak and Cain tell Martin that Sam isn’t there. As the police become more determined to get into the house, Cain and Zak shove Martin back and bolt the door. Lisa is horrified as she watches them barricade the door with furniture. Ashley is forced to tell a shocked Laurel what has happened. He is in turmoil as he feels he betrayed Sam's confidence. Laurel can’t help but sympathise.

The pressure builds at the Dingles and Zak calls a Dingle Court realising someone is going to have to own up to get them out of the situation. Insisting that Samson needs his father out of prison, both Marlon and Zak step forward. Zak is determined it should be him until, to everyone's shock, Cain insists that he will go to prison for Alice’s death. Elsewhere, Sandy makes it clear to Ashley that he disagrees with his behaviour. The vicar snaps and orders his father out of the house.

The Dingles are questioned about Alice’s murder. Sam and Lisa stay quiet but Marlon lets slip about Cain’s involvement. Later, Cain is interrogated and says that he killed Alice. Zak is the final person to be questioned. Elsewhere, Ashley goes to see Sandy to apologise for the previous day. Sandy tells his son that although his shoulder can be fixed; what can’t be put right is the fact that Ashley has considered him a murderer for all these years. Meanwhile, Kayleigh is proud of her father for tracking down a murderer and as she waxes lyrical, Diane gets increasingly frustrated. Louise tries to defend Kayleigh and Martin.

Episode 4436 (Sun 13th Aug 2006)

Cain is stunned when Zak claims he has the money to pay his £10,000 bail. Meanwhile, Louise defends Martin's role in the Dingle's arrest, prompting a furious Diane to remind her of what happened with Ray but the copper overhears the conversation and demands to know the whole story. Meanwhile, Ashley finds himself the object of the Dingles' scorn, and is surprised when the Bishop tells him that Sam has requested another vicar to officiate the service. He heads over to the cottage to convince Sam otherwise, but Sam is adamant.

Episode 4437 (Mon 14th Aug 2006)

At Alice's funeral, the Bishop surprises everyone when he announces that Alice should have the last word. A tape recording from Alice is played to the congregation and is met with spontaneous applause and cheering. As she is finally laid to rest Sam throws a rose onto her coffin. Meanwhile, Martin feels compromised but admits he loves Louise and so can’t act on the information about Ray. However, he tells Louise their relationship can never be the same again leaving her devastated. Elsewhere, Cain is stunned to discover from Sadie that she paid his bail. She explains she has come up with a plan to fleece the Kings and offers to cut him in on the deal.

Episode 4438 (Tue 15th Aug 2006)

Relations between Diane and Louise are frosty at best and when Diane picks up a phone call for Louise from an estate agent about selling her share of The Woolpack there's no sign of improvement. Later, Louise throws another spanner in the works when she announces that she has sold her share of the pub to Rodney. Elsewhere, Jo privately enjoys the tension that Jamie staying is causing between Andy and Katie. She stirs things up even more when Katie insists Jamie moves in permanently rather than leave for Spain.

Andy overhears Katie and Jo talk about Daz kissing Katie and feels betrayed. Left alone, Jo seizes her chance to seduce Andy by bad-mouthing Katie's lies and implying something's going on with Jamie. Andy succumbs. Meanwhile, Katie pushes off an advance from Jamie and rushes home to declare her undying love for Andy. Meanwhile, things start to get petty at the pub when Louise devises a rota which means she and Diane won’t work with each other. Diane starts to realise that she is losing a good friend in Louise. Elsewhere, Rodney tells a shocked Paul and Kelly that he's buying The Woolpack and needs to sell Holdgate Farm to pay for it.

Episode 4440 (Thu 17th Aug 2006)

Katie tells Andy she’ll do anything to make things work and asks Jamie to move out. When Jo hears from Jamie that he's moved out and sees his shame, she quickly tells Andy something's happened between Jamie and Katie then seduces him for the second time. Meanwhile, Viv’s pregnancy begins to take its toll and she almost faints in the Café. Donna takes Viv upstairs and tries to convince her to tell Bob. Over at the haulage yard, Tom is helping Matthew out. When Tom reveals that he has the death of three people on his conscience, Matthew feels guilty and tells him that Sadie was behind the JCB incident.

Viv secretly books an appointment for an abortion and her dream of another baby is officially over. Meanwhile, Donna breaks down in front of Scott and confesses that Viv is pregnant. Donna tells Scott that she suspects Viv will get rid off it. Katie plans a picnic for herself and Andy, leaving a note for Jo making it clear that she's not going to give up her husband without a fight. Meanwhile, Tom apologies to Jack for accusing him of sabotaging the housing development, leading Jack to the conclusion that Tom knows who was responsible. Later at dinner, Tom tells Carl and Chas that Sadie paid some guy to plough the JCB into the house to mess things up for Jimmy.

Donna and Scott confront Viv who admits she's going to have an abortion. Scott is devastated and ends up confiding in Terry that Viv's pregnant. Terry persuades Scott to tell Bob, convinced he has a right to know. Bob doesn’t believe him at first but when he hears she's gone for an abortion he races to the clinic. Meanwhile, Pearl is working in a grubby pub in Leeds under the pseudonym of Irene. She's quizzed by the landlord who has seen her in a missing persons ad in the local paper. Elsewhere, Matthew delights in telling Sadie the haulage company is moving back to the family portfolio, but Carl starts to feel shoved out now that Matthew is back in the family business.

In Leeds, Pearl is working in a pub called the Rising Sun. Meanwhile, Daz is being chased throughout the streets of the city by police officers. He jumps over the wall, losing them. Pearl walks over and recognises him. In the pub, Pearl urges Daz to return to the village - but the youngster says he won't go back because he messed things up with his mum. However he cuts her a deal - he'll only go if she accompanies him. Back in the village, Len, Edna and Danny wonder whether they've heard from Pearl. Edna, worried for her friend, suggests that she and Len go to Leeds.

Andy decides to throw a barbecue at Butler's Farm. As the drinks flow, Jamie can’t help being honest with Andy and admits he made a move on Katie but makes it clear she knocked him back. Andy immediately feels sick with guilt for sleeping with Jo, given Katie's loyalty to him. Later Jo tries to seduce him again. Meanwhile, Edna takes it upon herself to help find work for Pearl to help clear her debts and gets her an interview with Tom. The interview goes well until he asks for a reference from her previous employer, Eric. Elsewhere, Jack goes to see Denise to let her know that Daz is safe, only to find out Daz hasn’t been telling the whole truth about why he ran away.

Chas taunts Sadie that she knows she was behind the JCB stunt. Sadie gives as good as she gets but Chas's anger boils over and she ends up attacking Sadie. Everyone watching is shocked and Chas demands Sadie enlighten Bob about who is really responsible for the house collapse and Dawn’s death. Meanwhile, Daz feels the heat for crashing his mum's boyfriend's car. Things get worse when Denise turns up demanding he pay the £500 to repair the car and blames him for her boyfriend leaving her. Elsewhere, Danny gives Pearl cash to pay off all her debts. Pearl returns Len’s money.

Latisha returns to the village to see Danny. He's pleased to hear his family business is thriving in Portugal and there is a job for him as Entertainment Manager there. Meanwhile, Terry, Bob and Jean are shocked to learn from Dawn’s solicitor that because she was still married to Terry all her assets will go to him. Bob insists that Terry agree to put it all in a trust for TJ. Later Jean tries to convince Terry that he should invest the money in the B&B for TJ's future instead. There's a disaster over at The Woolpack when the toilets flood. Louise refuses to help and Rodney’s unwilling to get his hands dirty, leaving Diane to cope on her own. Rosemary refuses to continue helping Grayson with his gambling debts. Sam is concerned about Cain's upcoming court case.

Chas tells Diane that Sadie was responsible for the house collapse but she can’t call the police because it would wreck her relationship with Carl. She implies that there is nothing stopping Diane from calling them instead and later the police arrive to take Sadie away for questioning. Meanwhile, an irate Bob bad-mouths Terry in the pub for robbing TJ of his inheritance. Terry gives in and suggests he put half the money in a trust for TJ and invest the other half as originally suggested. Elsewhere, concerned with how much it would affect Pearl if he moved away, Danny offers her the chance to take up a job in Portugal.

Rodney declares his intention to expand the Woolpack, leading Diane to criticise Jack for not bidding sooner. Not wanting to be upstaged by Rodney, Jack starts a bidding war. Also, Rosemary rages at Rodney for buying the paintings from Grayson under value. He is dumbfounded, and after Danny confesses that he made a personal profit on the sales, Rodney disowns him. Meanwhile, Cain learns a painful lesson about how to treat women after Latisha attacks him during one of their liaisons. After securing her revenge on Cain she says goodbye to Danny and Toni and departs for her life back in Portugal.

Rodney rebuffs Danny’s attempts to reconcile and sees his impending move to Portugal as a sign of his guilt. After Pearl takes the blame for Danny's deception, Rodney forgives him but insists that he honour his business obligations in the village. Meanwhile, Jean confides in Jamie that she hasn’t got enough money to buy the B&B. Jamie advises her to tell Terry before his business plans become too advanced. Elsewhere, Diane begins to have doubts about going into business with Jack when he outbids Rodney. As the two men go back and forth with their offers, Rodney demands that Diane choose who she wants as a business partner.

Katie and Andy suffer more money problems when the bailer breaks down. It comes as a great shock to them both when Jo hands over two months rent to help with the repair bill. Katie, however, sees that Jo is playing games and gives her a warning. Also, Paul tells Rodney not to stand in Danny’s way and eventually he presents Danny with some money for his flight to Portugal. With his bags packed the residents gather to wave goodbye as Danny makes his departure. Meanwhile, Terry celebrates the re-opening of the B&B with a champagne party. But his dreams are shattered when Jean admits that she can’t be his business partner but it's too late to stop the opening.

When Jo spoils Andy and Katie’s evening plans, Katie attacks her and they fight in a mud puddle. Andy, worried that Katie has discovered the truth, breaks them up. Later, Jo confides in Hari about the affair and he warns her to back off. Elsewhere, Sadie and Cain make plans for the robbery at Home Farm. After discovering that many of the Kings will be away on Sunday they set a date. Also, Jamie notices Bob and Donna are having trouble managing the café and attending to Viv. He volunteers his services but his pleas fall on deaf ears. Later, he drowns his sorrows visiting Dawn’s grave and passes out in a drunken stupor. Bob arrives to find his daughter's grave in a mess and Jamie responsible.

Zak tells him to go on the run. Also, when Jo seduces Andy again they are caught by Daz. He is forced to cover for his brother when Katie arrives. Later, when they are alone Daz demands an explanation from Andy. He insists that the affair is finished. Meanwhile, Bob is concerned that Jamie has left the village but is relieved to find his son's ice cream van in a lay-by. Bob urges him to come home and help him get justice for Dawn.

Paddy comforts Toni when Cain stands her up but Del turns up and is frustrated to see Paddy and Toni together again. Can Del trust Paddy? With money being tight, Zak holds a council to discuss everyone's contribution to the Dingle pot. There is some hope when Val offers Lisa work at the factory but Zak begins to feel guilty about not being able to support his family.

Sadie secretly records Cain admitting to the sabotage on the show home that caused the house to collapse and heads to Home Farm to play it to Tom. Sadie arranges a meeting with Tom for later that day. Meanwhile, witnessing that Cain and Sadie have been spending a lot of time together, Debbie stirs things up by revealing to Cain of Sadie's involvement in Jasmine's abortion. Cain is livid and when Sadie returns home she finds that he has trashed her place. He attacks her, accusing her of killing his baby, before cancelling the kidnap. Meanwhile, during the shoot at Home Farm, Rosemary catches Zak just as he is about to seize the kill.

Tom seizes his chance to escape and grabs Cain’s gun to reverse the roles on his captor. After demanding his phone back, Tom realises that the gun is empty and Cain overpowers him. He drags both of his hostages into the car where Tom tells a now conscious Sadie that he knows she is allied with Cain. Elsewhere, Carl convinces Chas not to leave him and they go to look for Tom.

Matthew and Carl guess that Cain is the kidnapper, but Chas asks them to let her deal with it. She finds Cain who denies that he is involved. Unconvinced, Chas heads back to Home Farm where the Kings receive a phone call from Sadie. Cain forces Sadie to demand a £5 million ransom and the brothers hear Tom and Sadie's screams as the line goes dead. Meanwhile, the police turn up at the Dingles' looking for Cain. Zak and Lisa rush to Home Farm to find out the problem and are told about the kidnap. Zak is alarmed to discover that Chas called the police.

Tom infuriates Sadie by bargaining with Cain and telling him to leave, insisting that he will identify Sadie as the sole kidnapper. Cain is forlorn and after hearing a helicopter close by he drives off with both hostages, unsure where he is going. As panic takes over, has Cain blown it? Meanwhile, back at Home Farm, the Dingles and Kings all wait on tenterhooks for news. Zak insists that Cain isn't responsible but Matthew and Carl make arrangements to raise the ransom.

Tom notices that Cain has disappeared and takes the opportunity to untie Sadie and himself. Sadie is unable to move her legs and begs Tom not to leave her. Debbie and Chas are out to it on the couch whilst the Kings worry about Tom.

As the village struggles to come to terms with the outcome of the kidnap, the police accuse Carl of the kidnapping being an insurance scam. He reacts by shoving an officer into a wall and the situation worsens when he begins to suspect Chas played a bigger part in it. The pair are also lashed out by Tom when he refuses to rest at their urging request and he later blames Matthew for bringing Sadie back into the family.

Meanwhile, Toni is still in pain after her operation and is inundated with unwanted visitors.

Intent on showing willing, she heads over to the B&B and walks into the middle of the murder mystery evening and quickly leaves, feeling hurt and betrayed. Meanwhile, Perdy invites Andy and Katie over to Oakwell Hall to discuss her investing in Katie's business. Perdy suggests they go into partnership but is only offering guidance and support rather than money. Elsewhere, Rodney hits a new low when he is kicked out of the B&B. His humiliation is compounded further when he has to spend the night sleeping on Viv’s sofa.

Alan is relieved to awake to find Steph safe and sound after spending most of the night wandering the streets. Ashley offers Steph support and suggests she move in to Mulberry Cottage with them. Meanwhile, Scott continues to kiss up to Jasmine to gain her trust. Jasmine is endeared but Debbie tells her that Scott stole some of the cash at the monopoly game the night before. Believing she can trust Debbie, Jasmine checks the money in front of her and finds some missing. Elsewhere, Betty uses her speech at Seth’s headstone ceremony to imply Len and Pearl should put their differences aside as they may not have long left together. At the after dinner they appear to be getting on well.

Jasmine is still feeling guilty and decides to return the money anonymously to Rodney. However, just as Jasmine is about to head out, Debbie turns up in tears with a bruised cheek claiming Scott has hit her. As Jasmine sympathetically makes tea, Debbie sneaks off with the cash. Meanwhile, determined to make back his money, Rodney decides to go into business with Zak selling scrap. Kelly is horrified at the thought of becoming the scrap queen of the Dales. Over at The Woolpack, Steph starts work, much to Val and Diane’s dismay. Steph enjoys winding them up but after a series of mistakes Diane puts her foot down and insists Val tell her the truth about her job.

When Debbie witnesses Kelly trying to seduce Scott she is amazed to see he knocks her back. Rodney is furious when he finds out what Kelly's been up to and demands an explanation from her. Later Debbie pretends to Scott that she doesn’t care when he tries to explain what happened. However, when he admits to Debbie that he turned Kelly down because he likes her instead. Elsewhere, Daz is dumb-struck when he discovers a toddler in a push chair at the door. It isn’t long before Andy works out it is his daughter Sarah. Andy and Daz are overjoyed. Meanwhile, at her welcome home party, Toni is lapping up the attention until she checks on her scar in the mirror and it's clear she's not as strong as she is pretending to be. Del turns up to apologise.

Elsewhere, still hell bent on revenge for Del, Toni visits the police to see what is happening with her case against her.

Del is relieved when the police let her off with a caution, but worries about how Toni will react. She goes to see Toni to apologise again but Toni is livid at hearing she's off the hook and even more eager to settle the score once and for all. Elsewhere, Katie unburdens the secret of Sarah to Perdy who is sympathetic and offers to find her some legal help on the cheap. Andy is angry when Katie confesses that she's told Perdy about Sarah as he fears the Dingles will soon find out about her return. Meanwhile, Rosemary implies Grayson is having an affair, after Perdy finds a brochure for a luxury hotel. She points out that it's only a few miles from where Grayson is staying for his ‘business trip’ but Perdy refuses to take the bait saying she booked the hotel for him herself.

After spending all day cooped in Butler's Farm struggling to look after baby Sarah, Katie finally snaps and takes her frustration out on Daz. A sympathetic Diane suggests Katie takes Sarah for a walk to get some fresh air. When Andy sees them, he is livid with Katie for taking her out in public. Elsewhere, Toni thanks Del for not going to the police and admits she knows Del didn’t hurt her intentionally. Toni confides to Del that Paddy is only with her because he pities her. Meanwhile, Tom is furious when he finds out about the Hunt Ball and tells Matthew he wants nothing to do with it. Matthew argues that given the financial position they find themselves in at the moment they can’t afford to turn away business.

Tom rejects his accountant's advice to sell Home Farm and then doesn’t show up for the ball. An infuriated Rosemary rages at Tom before surprising him with a kiss. The ball is deemed a big success and Tom and Rosemary decide to toast the evening. Elsewhere, Perdy and Matthew agree to accompany one another to the ball, to Rosemary's chagrin. The Champagne flows at the party and their loud behaviour leaves Rosemary seething. Later on, Perdy discovers Matthew alone in his office and the pair flirt before having sex. They sneak back to the party unaware of Hari’s presence. Also, Toni agrees to move in with Len but he is shocked at the severity of her scarring. Paddy is still wallowing in self-pity until Len reminds him that Toni is the one who will be scarred for life.

Eli makes his return to the village and succeeds in stealing Shadrach’s new piglet. Shadrach sets off to find it and discovers baby Sarah in Butler's Farm. The Dingles confront Andy who convinces them to keep Sarah's return a secret. Meanwhile, Rosemary and Tom arrange a dinner date, but food is the last thing on their mind as they end up in bed together. Tom offers Rosemary a job at Home Farm and after some deliberation she is delighted to accept. Elsewhere, Viv believes that the new pram bought for her by Jamie is stolen. Bob tries to calm her down and mentions that Jamie could prove his innocence by providing the receipt.

Debbie interrupts a conversation between the Dingles and Sugdens and is incensed when she finds that Sarah has returned. Her rage is compounded further when Scott sides with Andy. Debbie packs her bags and heads to the bus stop, but Scott tries to stop her and make her see that Sarah is better off with Andy. They head back to the farm, and Debbie tells Andy that he can have Sarah, as long as she has nothing to do with her. Meanwhile, Viv decides to abandon the pram in the countryside to hide the evidence. She is shocked when the police turn up later and accuse her of fly-tipping. When forced to explain her actions the truth slips out. Elsewhere, Sam’s determination to find the piglet thief leads to the discovery of a familiar face.

Debbie moves out of the Dingle homestead after hearing what Lisa thinks of her and asks to move into Scott's. Victoria is due back from Spain causing Jack to be a nervous wreck. Meanwhile, Paul is going through ideas of how to reclaim some Woolpack business from the B&B. Elsewhere, Edna is adamant that she doesn't want to attend Eve's blessing, but Tom convinces her otherwise.

Also, Tom and Rosemary are taken aback to discover that Peter is Edna’s son. Their questioning, however, disturbs Edna and she dashes out of the pub.

Later when Sam warns Eli they are onto his whereabouts Eli is panicked. Meanwhile, in Ashley’s absence, Laurel agrees to do an interview for the Hotten Courier on his behalf. Steph however starts to regret encouraging Laurel to do it when she witnesses her explaining to the journalist why she’s staying at the Vicarage. Later that day Laurel is concerned that it is Emily living up at Wylie’s Farm and she questions Daz and Victoria about what they saw.

Eli, wearing a balaclava, bursts into the Post Office with a gun, taking Viv and Kelly hostage. After Viv empties the safe he fires a warning shot and escapes with the cash. A short time after, Eli meets Nick and Gary and hands over the cash. Eli sneakily hides the shot gun under their car, and he disappears into the bushes. As Nick and Gary are about to leave they notice the gun under the car and pull it out as the police swoop and arrest them. Meanwhile, Ashley and Jasmine get a shock when they arrive home to see Laurel, Ethan and Steph having lunch together. Ashley is furious to see Ethan back and demands an explanation.

Zak becomes suspicious of Sam and follows him to Eli’s hideout. At Seth’s hide, Zak pounces on Sam who confesses all about Eli’s reappearance and connection to the heavies that beat up Marlon. When they stumble upon Eli, Zak attacks him, pinning him to the ground. Eli begs forgiveness, explaining he knew he would be killed by the thugs so set them up with the Post Office raid and tipped off the police to ensure they went to prison.

By the side of the lake, a heartbroken and hysterical Emily contemplates suicide to escape her desperate situation. She fills her pockets with rocks and wades into the water. Sam is poaching nearby and is shocked to see a body disappear under the water. Viv can’t settle back into work at the Post Office so Bob and Jamie try numerous ways to help her relax. Jamie gives her a spray can to ward off any potential intruders, but she's unimpressed. Meanwhile, Bob buys her massage balls to calm her down. Elsewhere, Eric’s unnerved to hear from his solicitor that Steph has a strong case for her share of the business.

Left alone in the shop Viv panics when Victoria and her friends hurl eggs at the window. A distressed Viv begins to hyperventilate and collapses. Eli sees and calls an ambulance. When the ambulance arrives Bob is anxious when he hears both Viv and the babies are at risk. Meanwhile, Sam takes Emily to the Dingles but Lisa attacks her and Zak is equally appalled and does nothing to hold Lisa back. It's left to Sam to break up the fight. Later, Sam and Emily run into Paddy. Elsewhere, Val offers Paul a huge wage to spy on Steph at the factory until she is safely behind bars.

Carl and Matthew are surprised when Jimmy returns, hell-bent on telling the truth about the house collapse. When Carl has to break his date with Chas, she and Eli scope out Home Farm; after realizing Jimmy is back, they sneak off to get drunk, unaware that Matthew has seen them.

Matthew organises a forged report on the house collapse while Carl tries to persuade Jimmy to keep quiet. As the HSE inspectors arrive, Matthew confesses everything about Tom’s kidnap to Jimmy, who finally agrees to side with his brothers. Meanwhile, Chas is upset after she stays the night with Eli and Carl fails to notice. Val advises her to use Eli’s attraction towards her and make Carl jealous. Elsewhere, Rodney adds to his collection of “classic” cars by purchasing an old tow truck to dispose of the van. When Shadrach borrows the truck to tow one of Scott’s customer's cars, Scott retaliates and exacts the ultimate revenge.

Chas and Eli indulge in a cheeky game of strip croquet at Home Farm. After she defeats him, Chas is chased around the grounds by a naked Eli before they are caught by Rosemary and Carl who are furious. Also, Bob storms into Pear Tree Cottage to berate a broken Jimmy. Drowning in guilt, Jimmy's saving grace comes when Matthew escorts Bob off the premises. Elsewhere, Matthew has a problem with his car and takes it to the garage. While Scott and Debbie are sidetracked, Rodney tinkers with the vehicle, causing further damage. Matthew returns, fuming at the delays and decides to cancel Scott's contract with the Kings.

Elsewhere, Chas is angered when Rosemary’s theft accusation is proved to be false. After Chas warns her to keep out of her relationship with Carl, Rosemary acts as if Chas attacked her. Tom orders Chas out of Home Farm, only for Rosemary to stop him. Also, Rosemary taunts Edna over her feelings towards Tom. As they leave for Eve’s blessing, Rosemary spies a small jewellery box on her desk. It appears to contain a ring.

Edna attends Eve’s blessing and is surprised to see her sister Lily. Peter tells them that the time is right to make amends for the past and the sisters talk. Lily asks Edna how she has lived with such a terrible secret, before Tom interrupts them. Edna rushes off and is questioned by Tom. Her revelation leaves Tom shocked to the core. Meanwhile, Chas reveals her concerns about Rosemary to Debbie. Debbie has an idea and tells Chas that setting a wedding date with Carl would be the ideal way to silence her. When she discusses the matter with Carl, he understands her concerns. Elsewhere, Debbie and Scott team-up with Rodney to fix his classic car. Both are astonished by Rodney's readiness to work with them.

Meanwhile, outraged over the closure of the Post Office, Len starts a petition for it to be re-opened. He manages to recruit a few protesters including members of the press. Elsewhere, Hari continues to have problems with his leg. He refuses to have time off work and takes veterinary pain killers before heading off on his date with Louise.

Tom plays peacemaker and forces Edna and Lily to talk to each other. Lily berates Edna for not letting her have Peter back, especially as she was unable to have anymore children. Alan is less optimistic, worried what the media will make of the trial and how his daughter will cope. Meanwhile, Jamie’s illegal meat suppliers give Marlon pork instead of veal, ruining his veal stew that he’s prepared for the Gastronomic Society lunch. Marlon tries to serve the stew with pork but Val becomes suspicious when they begin to get complaints.

It's the day of Steph’s trial and Alan is worried to hear from a journalist that the prosecution have something up their sleeves. The trial begins well for Steph but she gets a shock when it is announced that a new witness has come forward. Meanwhile, Rosemary is irritated by the relationship that has developed between Edna and Tom since their trip away. Rosemary pushes Tom for details about his trip with Edna and teases him about their relationship, but Tom warns her to back off. Elsewhere, Donna decides to use some savings to take Marlon away to a hotel in Leeds to try and cheer him up. As they are about to leave, Lilith turns up on the doorstep with her four kids.

Steph is nervous when Adam takes to the stand. He is the picture of serenity until Steph's solicitor tells the court that he practised without a license after being struck off. Rattled, Adam plays his ace card saying another witness can confirm Steph confessed to killing Terence. Elsewhere, feeling guilty about the previous day, Tom invites Rosemary round for a romantic dinner. She knocks him back but Tom goes ahead and arranges the dinner anyway. Meanwhile, Marlon and Donna are horrified when the kids come down with chicken pox. Marlon begs Val to let them stay, as they need to be in quarantine for seven days.

Steph is anxious as a nervous Isla takes the stand. The court is stunned when Isla claims that Steph admitted to her that she killed Terence. Things don’t look good for Steph but Isla breaks under questioning from Steph's solicitor and admits she's lying. Rosemary has stayed overnight at Home Farm but when Chas bumps into her raiding the fridge she claims she just started work early. Chas isn’t convinced as Rosemary is wearing no shoes and has more than enough food for one person. Confined to The Woolpack backroom, Donna and Marlon struggle to entertain the kids. Toni suggests they throw a chicken pox party to cheer them and the kids up.

The police ask Alan to identify Shelley’s suitcase and belongings. He is adamant that they have no proof Shelley is dead but they tell him her bank account hasn’t been touched for 18 months. Horrified, Alan emotionally asks Steph if she killed Shelly. Elsewhere, Marlon and Donna’s chicken pox party is a big success. Exhausted they crash out on the sofa and Donna suggests it won’t be long until they have children of their own. Meanwhile, Edna tells Rosemary they should try to get along for Tom’s sake and invites her for lunch at the cafe. Over lunch Rosemary takes great pleasure in telling Edna the building work could take months and she could be staying at Home Farm for some time.

Meanwhile, Turner is alone in the aftermath of the trial. Seeking vengeance he goes to see Adam in prison, but a shocking surprise awaits him on arrival. Also, Donna and Marlon continue to struggle in their attempts to find a home. Jasmine suggests that they consider building a cheaper eco-home but Marlon is unsure. After Eli taunts his brother's masculinity, Marlon is forced to change tack. Can the young couple afford to take another gamble?

Also, after losing more business to The Woolpack, Louise gets her own back by reporting Jasmine's underage drinking to the police. Val is on the verge of completing a dodgy wine deal with Jamie when the officers arrive.

Edna informs Tom of her discovery but he is quick to dismiss her fears. Undeterred she goes to question Jimmy and he quickly becomes angry. Tom enters and is furious with Jimmy's blatancy, before turning his attention to Edna. She insists that she will go to the HSE, but becomes horrified when Tom ultimately reveals his true colours. He then threatens to reveal her secret to Peter before departing from her house, leaving a betrayed Edna shocked and worried. Meanwhile, Val receives a summons from the police and is quick to bar Jamie and Jasmine from The Woolpack. Jack is incensed by the previous day's events and tells Val that Diane is due back tomorrow. Elsewhere, Eli tries to convince a hung-over Jasmine that they can work together to take Debbie and Scott’s money. She dismisses him though, insisting that she would never trust another man to help her, particularly another Dingle.

The family is confused when she organises an impromptu party and then laughs uncontrollably at the news of Val’s problems with the police. Elsewhere, Edna hands in her resignation and sets about convincing Jimmy to tell the truth. They are interrupted by a furious Tom who orders her away from his son. But after Edna persists with her moral quest, Tom takes matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Grayson mistakes Perdy’s illness as a sign she might be pregnant. Unable to hide her guilt she blurts out that if she was pregnant the child might belong to Matthew.

Edna is horrified to see Peter back in the village, accompanied by Tom. Afraid of what Tom might do, Edna admits to Peter that she isn’t his mother. Peter demands to know why it has taken so long for her to tell him and is angry when she says it is because of Tom's blackmail. Unable to cope with her deceit, Peter leaves the village forever. Also, Tom is livid when rumours fly around that the Kings are almost bankrupt. Matthew promises his father that incoming capital from the housing development will soon ease their worries, but Tom wants to use the pension fund instead. His anger grows when he finds it to be empty and turns on his sons. Meanwhile, the villagers are concerned when news spreads of Billy Hopwood’s impending release. Bob and Kelly agree to keep the information from an already fragile Viv, while Daz and Jack visit Billy in jail. An emotional Daz warns his father to stay away and pledges his loyalty to the Sugdens

Edna presents the forged report to the HSE and their officials turn up at Pear Tree Cottage. The house is searched and Jimmy is questioned again, but no evidence is found. Later, Matthew blames his father for their problems and a vote is taken on Tom’s future. Elsewhere, Bob learns of the forged report and his hopes are raised that the Kings will face justice for Dawn’s death. He is aghast, however, to learn from the HSE that Edna's evidence is insufficient. This prompts Bob to turn on Edna, particularly when Rosemary gets involved to expose her crush on Tom. Shortly afterwards, Edna slaps Tom across the face when he insists to generally caring for her. Meanwhile, Diane and Val use their charms on Inspector Watkins at the police station and are relieved to escape with a warning. Jack is annoyed by their childish behaviour, but the sisters continue to celebrate in The Woolpack. However, an unexpected visitor soon wipes the smiles from their faces.

Potential buyer Chris Horton informs the Kings that he is only prepared to buy the housing development on the condition that there is no further legal action. Realising that he's at risk of losing the sale, Tom falsely claims that all civil action has been agreed out of court, much to Matthew’s concern. After learning that the Kings will go unpunished for the house collapse, a drunken Bob storms round to Home Farm with Jamie and Jean, determined to force a confession. Tom instead offers compensation on the condition that no future civil action is taken. Elsewhere, Edna is talk of the café, Len’s concern for her prompting Betty to joke to Pearl that there's something between the two friends. When Len finds Edna in church she expresses her devastation that everyone believes she covered up the report, revealing its existence as a woman scorned.

Bob feels betrayed by Jean’s suggestion that they accept the Kings’ compensation. When Jimmy hears from Bob that Tom has offered the Hopes £100,000, he is amazed and under pressure from Bob admits that he was accountable for the accident. After coaxing from Bob, Jimmy leaves with him to confess all to the HSE. When they bump into Tom en route, he's stunned to discover Jimmy's intentions and puts a stop to it. When Bob's lone protestations at the HSE are dismissed, he drives back in a rage and upon seeing Tom in the road, sees red and puts his foot down. Meanwhile, Ashley is quick to dismiss Betty’s claim that Edna only brought the report to attention as revenge for Tom's rejection, and goes to see her. Elsewhere, Paul speaks to Matthew about the availability of Victoria Cottage and when he suggests to Emily that they both move in, she worries about Viv’s reaction to her involvement with the Kings.

When Len hears from Pearl that Edna has been increasingly upset. he seeks her out in church. Though Edna insists on being left alone, she unintentionally confirms Len's theory when they slowly discuss her situation with Tom. Knowing that he's the cause of Edna's isolation, Len storms over to confront Tom at Home Farm where Pearl is forced to leave the duo alone. Tom belittles Len and reveals the truth about Edna's son.

After Kelly is jilted by the property developer and then rejected by the Hopes, she fixes her attention on Jimmy. The lonely pair go for a drink where Bob berates his stepdaughter for associating with Jimmy and warns her to keepy away from him; although reminded by her step-father that his family caused the death of Dawn is loud and clear, Kelly continues to console with Jimmy anyways until she proceeds to explain her true intentions to Scott.

Tom confesses that he will miss Rosemary and she engineers a permanent invite to stay at Home Farm. The announcement is greeted sourly by the Kings and Sinclairs so Tom proposes to a shocked Rosemary. Also, Jamie uses his new job with the Kings as a way to find evidence linking them to the house collapse. After rooting through their files he is caught by Chas who wants to help him. Jamie fires an insult at her before their argument is stopped by Carl. He fires Jamie outright. Meanwhile, Betty continues her attempts to lift Alan’s spirits but is frustrated by his bickering with Sandy. After hauling him to the Woolpack, Sandy jokingly tells Alan to lighten up. He is taken aback when Alan reveals the extent of his recent turmoil.

Rosemary and Tom arrange some engagement drinks to celebrate their engagement. Both families are suspicious and Chas wonders why Rosemary would leave Oakwell for Home Farm. Rosemary is defiant that she loves Tom and is moving for him, but Matthew is quick to warn her away from the family business. Meanwhile, Sandy is a constant source of irritation for Alan and asks why Betty tolerates his disgusting habits. After Betty is non-committal to his queries, Alan is forced to find solace elsewhere. Also, Paul is relieved to finally escape Val as he moves into Victoria Cottage with Emily. His joy is short-lived however, as Kelly barges in with her belongings. Paul insists that there is no room for another body.

The women of the village stop and stare as David Metcalfe arrives in Emmerdale. Val gives him 20 questions, curious about where he's come from and his marital status. Del spots him in the pub and Val encourages her to make a move. David buys her a drink and they hit it off straight away. He confesses to Del that he's in Emmerdale to find his dad. After a night on the tiles, Sandy is shown the door by Betty. Later Alan’s annoyed when Sandy turns up drunk and disrespectful towards Betty. Sandy jokingly puts his fists up to Alan and accidentally smashes Seth’s glass tankard. Betty is heartbroken and as Alan comforts her he tries to kiss her. Elsewhere, Jo is amused at Louise’s desperate attempts to woo Hari and makes fun of her not having any one to spend Christmas with. Jo implies she's not going to be alone at Xmas, but she hints at too much and Louise jumps to the conclusion that she is having an affair.

Paddy finds out the sample he took of Andy’s sheep is useless. Concerned about the welfare of his sheep Andy is annoyed with Paddy for the mistake and accuses him of being incompetent. While Paddy is at the lab getting the second test results done one of Andy's sheep dies. Elsewhere, Alan confesses his shame over Betty to Marlon. Marlon insists he stay at the pub with him and Donna. Marlon collects a few of Alan's things and reassures Betty that Alan is safe and well. Betty tells him she’ll smooth things over with Alan but Marlon suggests she give him a bit of time. It's moving day at Victoria Cottage and Kelly dupes Emily by claiming Paul said she could move in with them. Emily's dumfounded by Kelly's cheek when she moves her things into Emily's room.

Del’s list of David’s potential fathers grows by the minute. Del takes David to The Woolpack for dinner and after he forms an instant bond with Zak, she think Zak could be his father. Eric notices David's closeness with the Dingles and is convinced they are colluding to stitch him up. Eric aggressively approaches David outside the pub thinking he's a tax inspector but Zak steps in, telling him to leave his son alone. During an operation Paddy loses his confidence as a vet and walks out of the surgery. He decides to take a back seat at the surgery and takes the rest of the week off asking Jo to get a locum in. Marlon tries to cheer Paddy up by taking him, Donna and Toni Christmas shopping but there's more bad luck in store for the inauspicious vet. Meanwhile, Kelly’s not impressed when Emily insists they all pull their weight with the cleaning and draws up a rota. When Kelly won’t help clean the windows Paul reverts to school boy tactic to get her to pitch in.

Nursing a bloody nose, Eric refuses to accept that David is his son, and that only concrete evidence would convince him otherwise. Meanwhile, David tells Del what a disappointment his father turned out to be. Later Eric admits to Val he stole £20k from David's mum and fears David's is only claiming to be his son to get the money back. Elsewhere, Toni and a claustrophobic Paddy are stuck in a lift in the shopping centre. Paddy tells Toni that he has lost his confidence as a vet but there's a bigger shock in store when Paddy reveals all about his father. Meanwhile, Belle begs Shadrach to go to a disciplinary meeting with her teacher, to keep up the pretence that he is her father. Having taken a fancy to the teacher, Shadrach agrees, but Belle must come up with a bottle of whiskey to secure the deal.

Suspicious Eric decides to keep David on side to stop him claiming the debt back. He makes a real effort with him by giving him his job back at the factory. Meanwhile, he looks into getting DNA proof and steals a hair from the back of David's jacket. Eric gives the sample to one of his dodgy council connections to get the DNA test. Keen to make amends with Andy, Paddy invites him and Katie to a new night club. Meanwhile, Paddy secretly buys Toni a strappy dress that she likes in a magazine and insists she wear it the following evening. Elsewhere, Belle drags an inebriated Shadrach to the meeting with her teacher. Shadrach pulls off the meeting with Mrs Burgess but spots an old photograph on her wall and recognises her as an old flame from years ago.

Toni and Paddy enjoy a night out on the town with Katie and Andy. Paddy’s jealous when Toni pulls another guy. However, when the guy loses interest in Toni due to her scar she's devastated. Paddy ditches an old flame he's met to comfort her and they end up sharing a passionately embrace. Elsewhere, Eric asks David to move in with him and later offers him a part of the business. Val is suspicious of Eric's sudden change of attitude towards David. While searching for her missing purse, Val comes cross the DNA results envelope and figures that Eric had a dodgy test done. Eric takes it from her and admits that he did the test behind David's back. Meanwhile, Perdy leaves Katie in lurch when she's pulls out of a meeting with a potential customer for the stables. Jo agrees to step into the breach and meet the client on Katie's behalf.

Jo feels heartbroken when the Sugdens decide to spend Christmas as a family and her anger boils over later in the day when Katie ridicules her input in the livery business. When Katie mounts her horse, Jo startles the animal causing it to throw its rider to the ground. Meanwhile, Paddy is devastated when he wakes to discover Toni has vanished after spending the night with him. Emily encourages him to seek religious counsel and after some kind words from Laurel he leaves a romantic message on Toni's mobile. Elsewhere, Belle is handed a telling off when Zak and Lisa realise that Shadrach posed as her parent. She protests that the school are constantly making her sit tests, although she agrees to try harder.

Andy frets when the doctor reveals that Katie will be bed-ridden for a while. Jo secures two weeks compassionate leave from the vets and tells a grateful Katie that she’ll devote her time to helping at the farm. Elsewhere, Marlon and Donna’s house building is derailed when Lilith is arrested and they are landed with her kids. Also, Jasmine is worried for Laurel’s party when Eli buys some alcohol for Daz. She accuses Eli of being a bad influence but Daz defends him and insists that she needs to trust people again after Cain.

Elsewhere, Donna and Marlon warmly receive Lilith’s children but are puzzled by the change in their mood. Meanwhile, Jo multitasks to perfection at Butler's Farm, earning Andy’s gratification. He offers to accompany her to Laurel's party and Jo sees the opportunity to dress glamorously. The pair head off for a good night.

Laurel tries to reconcile with Emily over at the café. They talk and Laurel shares her worries about Ashley’s behaviour, before revealing she's pregnant. Intending to share the news, Laurel reconciles with Ashley and they look towards the future. However, his desire for stability throws everything she hopes for into doubt. Elsewhere, Kelly cooks up a cunning scheme after Paul mocks her relationship with Jimmy. She announces that she's listed Paul and Emily on a dating website and both are aghast. Meanwhile, the Dingle kids cause more problems for Donna and Marlon. Donna admits to Lisa that they are struggling and things continue to spiral out of control when the boys disappear.

Victoria taunts Luke about his mum leading to a fight at school. Marlon marches Luke round to the Sugdens’ to apologise but it descends into chaos once again. Jack warns Marlon that the pressure of caring for children only increases as time goes on. He is proved correct, leading Donna to make an important decision about her future. Meanwhile, Paul and Emily arrange dates with individuals from their dating website. Both are hugely disappointing and Paul is ashamed when his date leaves him with the bill. They return home intent on deleting themselves from the site. Elsewhere, Diane decides to amuse herself when Jack won’t join her on a day of fun. She ropes in Rodney and Ashley and the trio park themselves in The Woolpack for an all-day session.

Marlon notices that Donna is under pressure, despite her protestations. Not wanting his wife to abandon her career, he secretly invites the social worker round to discuss the kids. Donna implores Marlon to keep the children, but he disagrees. She is crushed and blames Marlon for everything. Also, Perdy investigates Rosemary’s financial status when the latter tries to hire her former maid at Home Farm. Rosemary dismisses her questions but Grayson is far more forthcoming. Meanwhile, Jack struggles to contain his errant wife and demands an explanation. Diane explains that she's decided to live life to the full after her problems in the last few years. Full of remorse, Jack has no counter argument and offers Diane an apology.

Paul goes on a second blind date that's just as disastrous as the first. On his way home he stumbles across an altercation in the park and hears some youths attacking a man and hurling homophobic insults. Paul rushes over and is shocked to discover that the victim is Grayson. Meanwhile, Donna is still angry with Marlon for taking the lone decision to give up the children. Jean encourages her not to be so hard on Marlon as he had her best interests at heart. Elsewhere, Jack arranges a family outing to Hotten. Later that day, he turns up to the Woolpack where Diane’s forgotten about the arrangement and is wildly engaged with decorating the pub. Stone cold sober, but bubbling over with excitement and energy Jack is mystified by her erratic behaviour.

When Rosemary hears Grayson's story she is sceptical and lets him know that she's well aware of the probable truth and warns him that Perdy will work it out too. Elsewhere, Chas torments Rosemary over her engagement, explaining that Tom ditched her cousin Charity at the altar and will do the same again. Meanwhile, Lisa and Zak are once again summoned to school over Belle’s behaviour, this time to see the head teacher and are astounded when Belle is suspended for infiltrating the school computer system.

Grayson unsuccessfully tries to convince Perdy that his indiscretions will never happen again. Rosemary reminds Perdy that she knew what she was signing up for when she married him. When Perdy angrily accuses her of being jealous of Grayson's love for her, the two argue with Rosemary insisting that Perdy will never be able to trust Grayson again.

Episode 4543 (Wed 13th Dec 2006)

Matthew tells Chas to organise a family lunch as he has something to reveal about Rosemary which will put an end to the wedding plans. Everyone turns up for lunch bemused as to what's going on, especially Tom, where Matthew reveals that Rosemary was kicked out of Oakwell Hall by her nephew, who sold the estate to the Yorkshire Historical Trust; a sale which took place a while back, that Rosemary had forgotten to mention.

Episode 4544 (Thu 14th Dec 2006)

Tom realises that time's running out in order to preserve the sale of the housing development. Jamie agrees to talk to Bob and Jean again about the offer. Knowing that money talks Tom doubles the offer to £200,000, but they only have 24 hours to make a decision. Elsewhere, Jimmy tries to cheer Kelly up by sending her a dozen red roses and an invitation to lunch. He books caterers including a butler, to make lunch at home. Whilst Jimmy sees off the caterers Bob arrives. Rosemary remains worried that Tom still doesn’t trust her. He insists that he does and will find a way to prove it to her. Matthew is concerned when the two of them plan a visit to the solicitors.

Episode 4545 (Fri 15th Dec 2006)

Jamie arrives at Home Farm to tell Tom that the Hopes won’t be accepting the compensation money, only to find out from Tom that he's too late as Jean had already accepted the offer; thus, no civil action will be launched against the Kings in the process. Jamie is shocked and confronts his mother, who is in the midst of packing her bags, where the two gets into an argument.

When Jamie asks Chas to help him in his plight to reprise against the Kings, she suggests that tracking down the foreman will provide them with the evidence they need. After careful prodding, Chas learns from Jimmy that the foreman is currently in St Tropez. Over at The Woolpack, Jack is furious to discover Victoria flirting outrageously with an 18 year old. He quickly sends her home and berates Diane for neglecting to watch over her. Meanwhile, a desperate Terry books a flight to Morocco in a bid to track down his son TJ. The police later visit Terry and warn him that he’d be wasting his time trying to track down TJ.

As Chas prepares to see Jamie off, his plan to track down the foreman is destroyed when it becomes clear that Tom and Rosemary have got to him first and he's no longer in St Tropez. Tom lays into Chas for her part in the betrayal and, warning that Carl will never forgive her, suggests she pack her bags and end the engagement. Tom makes a snide comment and Chas lunges at him, only for Rosemary to stop her, but Chas turns the tables on Rosemary instead.

When the village awake to find the burned remains of the Kings billboard, culprits, Jamie and Bob, are thrilled to discover that it's got tongues wagging and gossip is rife as to the perpetrators responsible. Tom and Jimmy are convinced that it's Chas who, whilst denying all knowledge, warns that it's less than they deserve. Marlon and Donna are disheartened to discover that the quote for building their new house is above and beyond what they can afford.

Besides themselves with worry, Donna and Marlon wait anxiously as the police try to track down the kids. When Eli finds them in Seth’s hide, he takes them back to a much-relieved Donna and Marlon. They remain concerned however that the kids were keen to escape from their Uncle Tony.

Episode 4550 (Thu 21st Dec 2006)

Holed up in a B&B, Donna and Marlon are horrified to see their faces on the news wanted for kidnap. One overheard phone call to the police from the landlady at the B&B, and the couple are back on the road with kids. The sight of a police car causes more panic and they quickly realise that they have no option but to give themselves up at the station. Over at the Dingles, Lisa is aware that Belle is missing her school mates, and so throws a makeshift Christmas party for her. When the family jump out and surprise her, Belle is suitably underwhelmed to discover none of her friends are there and later begs to go back to school. When it's announced that Carl is returning to Home Farm, Tom warns Matthew and Jimmy to keep schtum about the reasons for Chas’s absence.

Carl is stunned to return home and discover that Chas has moved out. When Carl presents her with tickets to Vegas for their wedding, she tells him the wedding is off. Seeing his hurt, she almost reveals all and suggests they leave the village for good, but when he defends his family she concedes that the relationship is over. In a bid to keep his son onside,

Episode 4552 (Sun 24th Dec 2006)

Carl is stunned when Chas admits that she conspired with Jamie to find evidence to incriminate the Kings over the house collapse scandal. Carl and Chas sadly agree that their relationship is over after her betrayal, but after learning of Tom’s role in the break-up, Carl furiously confronts Tom at Home Farm and, ignoring his pleas that Chas would've ruined his life regardless, tells to stick his offer to hand over the business to him. Jimmy, who had been overhearing the whole conversation during his attempt to get Tom's attention, is shocked about the news and proceeds to reveal this to Matthew, leaving the duo betrayed and angry as they believe Tom has disowned them both.

All is prepared for his wedding day as Tom King heads down to the church to marry Rosemary; who is already on her way to the church as well. Terry is an emotional wreck looking at pictures from last Christmas of Dawn and TJ. Upon seeing Tom's wedding car arriving at the church, Terry snaps and attacks Tom; swearing revenge on him whilst inadvertently hitting Ashley in the face.

Episode 4555 (Tue 26th Dec 2006)

Tom is pronounced dead by paramedics. Meanwhile, Jimmy holds Bob in the Home Farm kitchen until the police turn up. When they arrive, Jimmy tells CID about seeing Bob climbing down a drain pipe after Tom's murder. Bob claims he was at the wedding to pass a message to Donna. Jamie arrives at The Woolpack Christmas dinner late. Viv demands to know where's he's been. Lying he tells her he was with Bob at Dawn's grave. When they ask where Bob is, Jamie's alarmed that they've not seen him. Hearing sirens passing The Woolpack everybody becomes concerned. Elsewhere, Louise and Hari are puzzled by Terry's strange behaviour when he claims he's been out walking and he's glad to hear that Tom is dead. Terry packs a bag and leaves the village.

The police put pressure on Bob to admit he had something to do with the murder when he's taken in for questioning. Bob is on the defensive and insists that he was only at the wedding to pass a message to Donna. The police note that Bob was accused of trying to run over Tom only a few weeks before.

Episode 4557 (Thu 28th Dec 2006)

Bob returns home after being released on bail and returns to face the wrath of Viv. Viv demands to know what he was doing at Home Farm in the first place. Bob denies he killed Tom and later questions Jamie about his movements on the night of the murder. Carl is convinced Bob killed Tom and goes to the café to confront him. Jamie answers the door and is on the receiving end of a knuckle sandwich – just as the police arrive. Toni announces she and Paddy are engaged, much to the dismay of Del, who decides on a glamorous new image to show the vet what he's missing. Spurred on by Lisa, she fills a bag with material from the factory - but David catches her in the act.

Bob goes to the police station and confesses to Tom’s murder. The Kings are stunned at the news of Bob's confession. Carl revels in being the bearer of bad news as he tells the Hopes that Bob has confessed. Jamie is adamant that Bob couldn’t be the killer. Meanwhile, Eric slyly tries to get David to invest his inheritance money in a new specialised cleaning service. Eric claims he's been struggling to find a trustworthy business partner up to now. Paddy begins to convince himself he does want to marry Toni and asks Marlon to be his best man. Marlon's incredulous but Paddy's determined to go ahead with the engagement. Toni admits to Diane she's having doubts about spending her life with Paddy.

Episode 4559 (Sun 31st Dec 2006)

Following a catty war of words at the engagement party in the Woolpack, Kelly takes the opportunity to burst Toni'’s bubble, when she implies that Paddy didn't actually propose in the true sense of the word. Horrified, Toni’'s fears are confirmed when she overhears a conversation between Paddy and Marlon. Later in a distressed state, Toni sees Del with David and sees red, blaming her for all her woes. Over at the post office, Viv and Jamie are in a daze from the news that Bob hasn't been granted bail.
