Erika, while having a bite to eat with her friend Ross, meets her so called new ""friend"" Frankie. Frankie is an obnoxious L.A. rocker in the fictional band ""Death Envy."" Immediately Frankie begins playing air guitar and screaming lyrics to his songs. Erika begins to feel embarrassed and wishes that their meal would come to a quick end. Frankie offers to pay for their food with his credit card. Unfortunately, Frankie's credit card is declined and Ross is left to pick up the tab. Frankie and Erika enjoy a miserable drive home from the restaurant after sticking Ross with the bill. Later, Erika invites some friends over to her place for the evening. Jayson is a 21 year old aspiring actor living in Los Angeles, California. His life was going smoothly until he decided to try his luck for $15,000 dollars. Jayson's new ""best friend,"" Jack, is going to make his life a living hell. Jack first enters Jayson's life when the young, Hollywood wannabe is having lunch with his girlfriend, Michelle, and another female friend. Our man Jack regales the two real friends with extremely embarrassing and (completely made-up) stories about Jayson's youth. Jason's so-called ""friend"" Pauline shows up at Jason's house, saying that she's an old friend from New Orleans. His friends Kien and Eric are already there and are shocked that they haven't heard of Pauline before. Pauline then asks Jason to massage her feet in front of Kien and Eric. Teri is a 22-year-old Los Angeles teacher with a lot of attitude. Her new ""friend"" Pauline is a self-proclaimed clairvoyant that can read people's auras and talk to dead relatives. Teri first meets Pauline while she is having lunch with a friend at an outdoor cafe. When Pauline shakes Teri's friend's hand, she feels bad vibes coming from her.
