Chapter 1

Adriana expresses concern about the rain and asks Carlos for help. Pedro questions Ademir's ethics and refuses his father's invitation to work together. Adriana is fired from the clinic. Cleber suspects Pedro's feelings for Bruna. Pilar informs Ulisses that the lawyer assured her Arthur will be made aware of the guardianship request. Adriana risks everything to help her family.

Adriana begs the boatman to rescue her husband. Rafael and Ingrid worry when they learn that their mother has filed for legal incapacitation for their uncle. Ademir fears Arthur's confused behavior in front of the Judge. Diná threatens to fire Adriana. Tilde drinks Arthur's orange juice, unaware that Pilar put a tranquilizer in it. The Judge accepts Ademir's request to postpone the hearing. Otoniel tells Elisa about the woman who appeared at the flower stall. Adriana realizes that Pilar sabotaged Arthur's juice. Arthur fires Ingrid in order to get back at Pilar.

Tom apologizes to Elenice. Pilar goes to the jewelry store and accuses Adriana of killing Arthur. Ulisses feels guilty. Due to Fábia's insistence, Ulisses lies to his wife about his whereabouts.

Adriana feels uncomfortable in front of the police chief. Elisa shares her concern with Tilde. Otoniel visits Arthur's grave. Rosa warns Elenice about Tom. While talking to Adriana and Mau Mau about the deposition, Elisa feels unwell and faints. Pedro catches Brigitte and Cleber together in the office and is incredulous. Pilar breaks into Adriana's apartment, which used to belong to Arthur, and starts collecting belongings.
