Mitsui takes Megumi to Professor Suenaga's research lab, but the equipment malfunctions and becomes uncontrollable. Maeda begs Mariko to use her powers to save Megumi. "If I cure her, will you turn yourself in?" Mariko asks. Maeda promises. Mariko is given a day's grace and throws a home party. Everyone tries to act cheerful despite the circumstances.
