A tour of the room and a style diagnostic help Emily get started. The design plan: trasform the Lus space, layer-by-layer, using coastal inspirations. Her first look is a west coast beach theme. Traditional sand and sea colors, and lots of reclaimed wood, transform the Lus bedroom in to a pacific escape. For her second look, Emily infuses a bit of cape cod class.

Emily helps the Duanes transform their spacious, ranch-style home. Kevin and Michelle Duane have been living in their north LA home for about a year now and their finally ready to make it their own. While they love the size and layout of their living/dining area, both agree that the space is completely void of any character. She concludes that the perfect space for this pair ? and their guests ? would be a combination of playful, adventuresome, graphic novel, and antique. With a concept in mind, Emily heads for one of her favorite furniture shops to find the perfect bed to center the space.
