A Visit at Night

Rüdiger, a bored young vampire, is sent into town and ends up following 10-year-old Anton home. Later that night he shows up at Anton’s window, forcing Anton to keep his nerves (and his room) under control while a babysitter prowls the house. Their strange first meeting turns into an unlikely friendship just as a new handyman arrives at the cemetery with a very specific interest in vampires.

Uncle Theodor is convinced the new gravedigger is a Geiermeier, and the vampires start taking precautions. Anton’s usual babysitter is replaced by Effie, and Rüdiger’s attempt to scare her goes a bit too well, pushing the boys into a late-night dash to the cemetery. Anton gets his first visit to Rüdiger’s crypt, where hiding as a human becomes a real challenge.

Vampire Cloaks Should Not Be Washed

Anton’s mother washes the vampire cloak, then cheerfully tells Anton to return it and invite Rüdiger and Anna for dinner. At the cemetery, Anton tries to fly but cannot, and classmate Udo/Cyril notices everything.
