Although Josefine promised Oskar that she would no longer travel to Nazareth, she breaks her word. Because Jesus urges them to come to him because something has happened. Josefine hates Christmas because her birthday is on December 24th. And she has to share that with this Jesus. But their suggestions to abolish Christmas or at least postpone it are of course not met with any attention, because everyone else is looking forward to Christmas. And then Josephine is assigned the role of Mary in the nativity play... Meanwhile, in biblical times, due to a lack of other accommodation, Mary and Joseph end up in a stable in Bethlehem, where Mary gives birth to her child.

Josefine is very enthusiastic about this action, but Oskar is beginning to have doubts as to whether it is really a good idea to tinker with the past.

But finally they are allowed to take them with them. Now all they have to do is find Jesus. Will they succeed?
