Heart of Gold - UP Adventure

It’s another grade-A Upper Peninsula journey for Team UTR!! If you haven’t been to Michigan’s beautiful upper peninsula yet … what’s your excuse this time? You’re afraid of bridges … you don’t like clean air … your dog ate your driver's license. “I Wanna Take You Higher” Pentwater, Manistee

In Michigan, we have more great beach towns than you can shake a sand-filled shoe at, so we decided to show you two more great ones. First, we head to beautiful Pentwater and stay at a B&B with extra walls … that’s extra nice. We even show you how to learn a new skill with new friends and a great place to eat and relax that will satisfy “all” your senses. Then we travel up the coast to Majestic Manistee for a flight that will get you high on this great town. We also show you how some enlightened folks are using an old ironworks to put a new spin on eating healthy. And, last but not least, we take you to a historic hotel that even has its own happy place right in the basement. Oh yeah… we’ll even show you the beaches in these towns. Well, thank goodness Detroit isn’t a million light years away, because right now it’s lighting up with so many awesome things to see, do, and eat … you just might need a Star Trek transporter to get yourself home. So, set your coordinates for the Motor City, put your vehicle in drive, and set your phaser to fun. Because we’re landing in Detroit in 3 …. 2 …. 1!

“Silver Twinkies – – YUM!!!” Flint, Eaton Rapids

On this action-packed episode of UTR it’s back to a tale of two cities. First up, we hit Flint for a new place right downtown that’s reconnecting urbanites with real food. Then we find a better burger that’s so good … the name of the place says it all. We’ll even take you to a park where you and your favorite off-road ride can get down and dirty in the mud. Then, it’s off to the Island City of Eaton Rapids where a team of Airstreams take over the entire town. We’ll also meet a cool young couple who are teaching the old hotdog some delicious new tricks, and do some fine dining at an English Inn that has its own party pub right downstairs. “Three Little Kittens….” The Middle of the Mitten

When was the last time you made your way down the middle of Michigan’s magnificent mitten … I thought so. Well, fear not … because Team UTR is gonna do it for you. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the wild ride. We start our awesome adventure at a diner in Grayling that has a collection of bottle caps that will captivate you. Then we head to Mt. Pleasant for a lesson in America’s original human history. We’ll also take you to St. John for a Cider Mill you can see from space; Lansing to meet a real Michigan princess; and finally to Dimondale for a bona fide Beatles collection that will melt your mind. Get to know the middle of the mitten like the “front” of your hand on Under the Radar Michigan. That’s right, it’s time for another patented UTR special adventure … and this time we hit Michigan’s Middle Earth.

Romeo

On this special episode of UTR, we spend the entire half hour in a city with so much history … you just might forget what century you’re in. Romeo literally runneth over with passionate people and fascinating artifacts from Michigan’s illustrious past. And the incredible classic and victorian homes here will absolutely amaze you. But’s it’s also a great place for people to enjoy these here modern times as well. They’ve got an Asian-influenced eatery that will knock your sakes off … A fascinating barn tour that shows you firsthand what some very creative people are doing with Michigan’s most iconic structures; and they even have a street where Halloween is so incredible every year … you might just want to be a ghost. On this awesome edition of UTR, we bring you two more on Michigan’s top-notch towns. First, we float through Lake Orion and show you how the lake and the town make up one great place to be. We’ll also take you to a place where you can eat drink and even play like an Italian Aristocrat. We’ll even take you to a fantastic festival full of dragons. Then, it’s off to Gaylord where they’ve got tons of that other G words … golfers. We’ll take you to a place that continues to make classic family vacation memories; to a cool, funky restaurant where you can also buy cool, funky stuff; and we’ll even show you an incredible elk herd you may not have heard of. Then we introduce you to Michigan’s very own Iron Man. We’ll even play some links-style golf at The Gailes and hit Lake Huron for a heapin’ helping of Walleye. It’s all in this Sunrise Side special!
