Antiques Road Trip Season 17, Episode 14: Episode 14
It is the fourth day of the trip for experts Catherine Southon and Paul Laidlaw. A visit to Birmingham reveals there are more canals in there than in Venice. Paul takes a water taxi to uncover some antique goodies, including one grisly find that features gallows and a hanged man. Catherine picks up a Cartier-branded lighter at a bargain price, much to Paul's annoyance. The programme breaks from the shops to discover the story of the real Peaky Blinders and seeks out the Elizabethan carpenter who was canonised for his crafty priest hides. Tim Medhurst and Christina Trevanion squeeze into an MG Midget and hit the puddles of a rather rainy south west England. Christina travels at high speed on a historic rescue boat developed by Lawrence of Arabia, while Tim aims for the sky to tell the story of unsung hero, early aviator Bertram Dickson. Christina makes some canny speculative purchases, but Tim, all guns blazing on his first ever road trip, blows more than half his budget on a rare collection of military memorabilia. Who dares wins?
Episode 2
Experienced road tripper Christina Trevanion and her new travelling companion Tim Medhurst continue round the south west of England. A classic car and a historic boat help them advance their adventure in antiques. Christina goes caving to uncover the little-known story of maturing cheddar cheese before setting her sights on a very old egg. Tim, meanwhile, has a lesson in firefighting. An emu, a kangaroo and a frog all head to Exeter to go under the gavel. Excitement around one lot leaves an expert with a very fat piggy and loads of cash to take on the next trip.

Tim Medhurst and Christina Trevanion's road trip reaches its third leg. While rookie Tim continues his tobacco habit with a Boer War pipe, Christina offers a sermon from behind a Victorian lectern. Touring the counties of Somerset and Devon, Tim scales a 500-foot cliff while Christina climbs a wardrobe. Which of them will reach dizzy heights at auction?

After an encounter with some wild ponies in the New Forest, Christina Trevanion turns farrier while Tim Medhurst buys a horse, hoping to gallop after her. Will a George III commode help Christina her along or prove to be an obstacle? And will Tim's soggy bottom slow him down? The joys of driving a convertible classic car are revealed! In the spirit of the Auld Alliance, Christina spies some Scottish treasure while Tim fancies some French fashionistas of a bygone age.

It is the final stretch, and Tim Medhurst and Christina Trevanion head through the Cotswolds and on to Wales. Tim gets to ring some very big bells while Christina calls in on a design museum and harks back to the utility furniture of the war and postwar era. Coin expert Tim finally buys a coin - it costs him a mint. Jewel magpie Christina stocks up on silver, diamonds and rubies. Whose treasure trove will be worth a king's ransom at the final auction? And who will be crowned winner?

Charles Hanson and Margie Cooper begin a new road trip in the Scottish Highlands. Charles chooses between a 19th-century winged angel's head and a huge bronze bear, while for Margie it's a large majolica cheese dome. Will it be a stinker at auction? Charles traces the family tree of a dog, while Margie hears about a precursor to the NHS set up to help deprived people in Scotland's remote highlands and islands. At auction in Aberdeen, Charles's Edwardian teaspoons go up against Margie's Victorian mirror. Who will be crowned the winner?

Charles Hanson and Margie Cooper continue their road trip in Scotland, pointing their classic car towards an auction in the Borders. Deep in the Trossachs Forest Charles finds out about axe-wielding women, including one 94-year-old with a tale to tell. Margie heads to the River Clyde to learn about a local firm who revolutionised how ships were built. A pre-Raphaelite woman catches Margie's eye, and a Russian hallmark attracts Charles - could it just possibly be Faberge?

It is the third leg of Charles Hanson and Margie Cooper's antiques adventure. This time they take their classic car for a cruise through Northumberland, and Tyne and Wear. Charles buys a straw pipe from the Napoleonic era, while Margie goes for a mysterious brass object - but it's a gamble as no-one knows what it actually is. Even a call to knowledgeable Paul Laidlaw draws a blank. In a Gateshead pub Charles is advised how best to use a sword when dancing, and Margie appreciates unlikely works of art produced by coal miners in the 1930s. It's a busy auction in Burnley. Will anyone know what Margie's brass thing is? Can Charles's Qianlung-period dish attract big bids? And who will celebrate with a bottle of 1966 champagne?

Margie Cooper and Charles Hanson go on an antiques escapade through Yorkshire. Feeling the heat in Harrogate, it's time to strip off and cool down like a Victorian. Charles uncovers some legal papers dating back some 400 years - will £200 spent on a toss of a coin prove a costly mistake? Margie hopes a large album of Second World War maps will find her a big profit at auction. Margie detours to end up in a very, very dark barn before enjoying some tasty rhubarb crumble. Then it is time for the all-important auction in Leeds.

Margie Cooper and Charles Hanson reach the final leg of their trip and steer their classic car through Yorkshire. Charles decides to spend as much of his kitty as possible, hoping a bigger outlay will result in huge profits. He goes for age, too, finding a pair of expensive 17th-century oak chairs. Margie also goes 17th century but finds a crib that's much more within budget. Off the beaten track, Charles plays a game known as the poor man's golf, though he struggles to score any points. Margie learns about a local glass manufacturer with a royal seal of approval. The final auction is in Harrogate. Will it be the U-boat binoculars or the Victorian lamp that decides the winner?

Catherine Southon and Paul Laidlaw squeeze into a very small classic car on their latest antiques-hunting adventure. These two treasure seekers are old chums who have battled it out before. Road Trip record holder Paul usually wins, of course, but maybe this time it will be differen.? Can Catherine's cold-painted peacock attract higher bids that his porcelain god of Mars? On this first leg they start out deep in Sherwood Forest and manoeuvre towards a tense auction in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. En route they visit the Museum of the Horse and find out all about the 17th-century Siege of Newark.

It is day two, and Catherine Southon and Paul Laidlaw are motoring their open-topped roadster along the byways of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Powys and Gloucestershire. Paul plumps for some handcuffs, while Catherine picks up some cute puppies. The pair also take in a tour of one of Britain's finest little Norman churches and discover the story of the lost art of Worcester glove manufacturing, before whizzing off to an exciting auction in the Shropshire town of Newport.

It is the halfway point of the trip for Catherine Southon and Paul Laidlaw, and their shiny red roadster called Mog, who are shopping their way from Wrexham to the black country - a few minor motor repairs notwithstanding. Paul bags himself a piggy bank, while Catherine opts for something distinctly oriental, but will their plans pay off at the auction? On the way, they take a trip across the world's tallest aqueduct at Pontcysyllte and find out about the incredible Victorian tile boom in Jackfield, before heading to the Penkridge auction.

An extremely circuitous open road has somehow brought them all the way from Sherwood Forest to a corner of Worcestershire. They now visit antique shops in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire, but who will win at the thrilling final auction in Middle Littleton? They also visit Shakespeare's birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon to find out about a 19th-century, Bard-inspired American actor. Expect mind games, French games, rugby football games and drama.

Experts Arusha 'Roo' Irvine and James Braxton brave the snow to find the choicest antiques, travelling up the east coast from Northumberland to Edinburgh. Roo falls in love with one of her purchases and decides to wear it, while James plumps for something distinctly lavatorial. But will they be feeling flush after the auction in Leith? En route, they investigate a smuggler's very palatial hiding place and get a taste for some local delicacies.

Antiques experts Roo Irvine and James Braxton journey from Cumbria to Liverpool in their 66 Mustang. Roo has a hankering for some curious military items and some of her favourite glassware, while James finds something that will help him attain the perfect physique. But will they be feeling buff at the auction in Liverpool? On the way, they head to the pub to find out how excessive drinking was curbed during World War One, and discover the women who scaled great heights in the pursuit of equality in the Lake District.

Antiques hunters Roo Irvine and James Braxton scour the shops of Liverpool and Manchester, on the lookout for beautiful old things. En route, they hear the David and Goliath story of women's football at the turn of the 20th century, and in Liverpool, they uncover the history of black seafarers. James makes a beeline for some brass and copper tea-making equipment, while Roo is smitten by an enormous piece of ceramic. But who will be victorious when the hammer falls at auction in Rotherham?

Antiques hunters Roo Irvine and James Braxton meander through the Midlands on their way to auction in Lytham St Annes in Lancashire. On the way they discover hidden talents and scary shops. Roo has to make her money go a long way this time and takes a shine to some carriage lamps, while James meets his namesake and haggles over a box of fossils. Roo finds out how Stockport became a major producer of hats, and James gets has a go at the fast-paced sport of harness racing.
Episode 20
It's the final leg of the jaunt with antiques experts James Braxton and Roo Irvine as they head back up the north west coast on the hunt for precious artefacts. En route, Roo heads far out into Morecambe Bay to look for a local delicacy, and James runs away to Blackpool to join the circus. James spends big, picking up some furniture made from his favourite material - and a Michelangelo! Comeback kid Roo finds an object with equine interest, but will it make enough cash at the York auction for her to pip James to the Road Trip title?

Long-time expert Philip Serrell is joined in the classic car by newcomer Louise Gostelow. They are travelling around the east of England on a hunt to find the most profitable antiques to take to auction. Phil fishes out some distinctly coastal clobber while Louise sticks with the nautical theme and buys a little yacht. But will it be plain sailing at the auction in Colchester? Along the way, Louise learns the little-known reason why piers exist, and Phil hears the story of one brave fisherman's contribution to the war effort.

Experts Phillip Serrell and Louise Gostelow motor their classic car along the B roads of Essex and Suffolk. Road Trip newcomer Louise gambles every penny of her kitty in a valiant effort to unseat her rival, but Phil sees value in a lady's head and a very gruesome torso of a man. What will bidders in the Norfolk town of Acle make of these grisly finds when they go under the hammer? Phil trades in the classic car for a steam-powered vehicle, while Louise visits an Essex farm that changed social care around the world.

The third outing for Philip Serrell and Louise Gostelow sees our experts travelling the Lincolnshire countryside in an effort to find the best antiques to take to auction. Phillip finds an antique that's been around the world, as well as an antique globe. Dog lover Louise find a very rare King Charles Spaniel - a jelly mould like no other. It all makes for an exciting auction in Lincoln. En route there's time for Lou to enjoy some fish and chips and hear an intriguing story to accompany her tasty supper. Phil chooses lamb - the woolly kind - to learn why a particular rare breed was once the most expensive livestock in the country.

Experts Phil Serrell and Louise Gostelow are scouring the antiques emporiums of Lincolnshire looking for very old things that will make a profit at auction. Louise learns why Bomber Command pilots kept knives in their boots and always carried handkerchiefs. Phil detours from the shops to meet a noisy man in Skegness. True to form, Phil is drawn to rust, picking up a pig trough. Louise finds time to help a farmer cross a river with a fox and goose - it's an incredibly complicated riddle. Journey's end is in Battle, where Lou and Phil go head to head. Who will come out of this one as winner?

It's the final outing for Philip Serrell and Louise Gostelow. They've ended up in Sussex, and their classic car in pointed towards that last auction in Brighton. Louise ends up in a beret and, with brush in hand, recreates a very old form of English art. Meanwhile, dog lover Phil shows some serious cat-titude when he ends up learning about the history of some the country's favourite felines. At the last auction it's the battle of the dogs. Which will attract the biggest bid - Phil's silver boxer or Louise's bronze puppy? And who will be crowned champion road tripper?
