KAM asks CHEE to check out how Ho Mun Chut is run. Distracted by her beauty, FAI discloses to CHEE that MEI has taken the shop’s money for her own use. KAM scolds MEI for this. MEI is very angry that FAI should betray her. She falls out with him. CHEE is both beautiful and well-educated. KAM regards her to be her future daughter-in-law. Private detective KERRY BUD receives an order to investigate a shoplifting case at a shopping mall. His assistant TUNG FAI brings along a camera to the shopping mall to look for some clues. MA SIU PO, CHAN BONG NI BONNIE, CHU CHU YVONNE and LI CHUN CHUN were good friends at secondary school. They have all passed their prime time for getting married. One day when they are shopping, they see FAI taking pictures secretly at the shop and so believe he is going to steal. A student LAM SZE YAN is caught red-handed in a bookstore by BUD for shoplifting. YAN’s teacher MOP asks BUD to give her a second chance; YAN is released. However, the school comes to know about the incident and YAN is expelled. CHU bumps into her secondary school teacher MOP, whom she used to admire. CHU finds that she is still very fond of him after all these years. MOP visits CHU. CHUN, PO and NI seize the chance to chat with MOP; CHU is displeased. MOP recommends YAN to work at CHU’s cafe; CHU agrees reluctantly. CHU’s diamond ring is gone. Everybody is saying that YAN has stolen it. PO searches through YAN but finds nothing. While investigating in a shopping mall, BUD sees YAN stealing a wallet from a strong man. He therefore asks PO to come and check it out. PO searches through YAN’s belongings and still finds nothing. YAN dies mysteriously. PO and her boss CHAI KWOK YUNG are in charge of the case. They ask for BUD’s help as well……

PO and YUNG lurk in a village in order to arrest a thief who steals female underpants. Their effort proves futile after days of waiting. Requested by his relatives, BUD arrives at the village to look into the case. He finds that the thief is none other than the village head. The village head refuses to be arrested. What is more, he holds CHUN, a villager, under duress and confronts the police. PO is very good at martial arts. She fights with the village head and subdues him with the help of Master KWAN. KWAN’s heroic deeds are highly praised. Many people come to his martial arts school to learn from him. KWAN invites PO to teach in his school. CHUNG and FAI becomes her apprentice. PO finds CHUNG extremely charming and tries to please him all the time. CHUNG finds her unbearable, nevertheless. FAI feels uncomfortable while he is practicing. The four ladies live in different apartments at Chuen Mei Mansion respectively. The pipes at the Mansion are blocked. A plumper comes to carry out some repair work. The plumber, who is both handsome and muscular, helps the four ladies solve many household problems, making them admire him very much. This plumber dies without an apparent cause later. BUD is puzzled to find the four ladies’ jewelry in his pockets. BUD believes that the reason why the plumber was able to steal from the four ladies was that they are all very much attracted to him, to which the four deny. They are speechless when BUD reveals their secrets. BUD doesn’t want to embarrass them in fact. It is only because he has noticed that the person who killed the plumber also lives in Chuen Mei Mansion.

The four ladies run across a common enemy of them in the past, whose name is CHONG MA LEI, at a party. They seize the chance to taunt and jeer at LEI. LEI was their competitor in a volleyball match at school. She played a trick in order to win. LEI challenges them to another volleyball match at the party. In order to retaliate, they accept her challenge. They are vexed about as to where to find enough people to join them. BUD, FAI and MEI agree to help them some help. BUD acts as their coach. The four ladies bruised their faces when practicing. They turn to Dr. YUNG, whom they met at the party, for treatments. NI discovers that LEI has carried out plastic surgery on her nose. She therefore suggests her mates focusing on hitting LEI’s nose in the match. NEI is hurt and has to quit the match. LEI’s dead body is found at the restroom of the volleyball court. YUNG examines her body and discovers that she died of suffocation……

NI is throwing a birthday party for Mrs. CHIN’s beloved dog “Diamond”. Mrs. CHIN gives a diamond to her dog as a gift but the diamond has disappeared during the party. BUD comes to investigate and cracks the case in no time. Mrs. CHIN leaves Hong Kong for a business trip. She asks NI to take care of her dog. Diamond uses luxurious daily commodities. While NI finds it hard to afford the expense, she finds it embarrassing to ask for advance payment from Mrs. CHIN too. Diamond disappears. NI blocks the whole building to search for it. BUD comes to his help and they finally find Diamond. NI brings Diamond to a beauty shop. The shop owner, JACKY, flirts with NI. NI would not refuse his flirting, but she finds him a bit of an eccentric. Mrs. CHIN has returned. She is very angry Diamond will not follow her home. Mrs. CHIN leaves in anger. JACKY has died mysteriously. Diamond has gone missing again. BUD finds the case suspicious……

MEI has bought a fake handbag from a swindler. She is very angry. She asks BUD to find the swindler for her. BUD, PO, CHU and NI set up a plan to catch the swindler. It is found that the swindler is YUNG’s ex-wife, WONG MEI YING. YUNG still cares about YING very much. He begs BUD not to pursue any further. BUD agrees to let YING off. YING runs a pub and is heavily in debt. Her creditors come to the pub very often to demand her repayment. In order not to repay her debt, YING lies to YUNG that she has been disturbed by some triad members recently. YUNG believes what she says and asks BUD to kick the gang away. YING stirs up troubles everywhere with YUNG as her shield. She even uses YUNG’s ID card to borrow money at an unfairly high rate of interest. YUNG is enraged upon learning this and has a fierce argument with her over this. YING dies the next day. YUNG becomes the suspect. PO arrests YUNG. YUNG turns to BUD for help……

FAI is carrying out an investigation in a supermarket. His head is trapped between the shelves by accident. KOO SAI YUEN, who is a psychiatrist, happens to pass by. With his help, FAI is able to get away from his awkward situation. FAI lacks self-confidence. In order to tackle his psychological problem, FAI enrolls in a course run by Life Creation Center. YUEN is the owner of the Center. He and SUE, a tutor there, teach the students how to overcome obstacles in their daily lives. With a view to finding their Mr. Rights, the four ladies have also enrolled in the course. SUE asks the four ladies to disclose their weaknesses so as to release their inner pressure. They lie, nevertheless. YEUN wants to build up FAI’s confidence and asks FAI to take part in the stringent training by SUE at the dark room. FAI is really scared. He has no choice but to follow YUEN’s persuasion and writes some words of hatred targeted at SUE. SUE dies……

LOUISE was a schoolmate of the four ladies’. She is holding a press conference for her beauty and fitness center at its anniversary. She asks NI’s PR firm to give her a helping hand. YUKI is the celebrity endorsement of the center. She acts rather intimately with LOUISE’s husband, KEN, at the press conference. NI tells LOUISE about this. YUKI has been arrested for possessing drugs. KEN goes to the police station to bail her out. This makes PO believe that KEN has an affair with YUKI. LOUISE is very unhappy that KEN would like to divorce her. The four ladies take turns in keeping LOUISE company, yet they all fell uneasy as she is acting rather passionately to them. They feel as if being sexually harassed. The four ask BUD to collect evidence that KEN and YUKI are having an extramarital affair. FAI follows KEN all the way to YUKI’s place and asks the four to come over right away……

Although BUD very often helps the four ladies solve all kinds of problems, the four think he keeps causing them troubles instead. BUD sends them presents to apologize. FAI sees this and says BUD is particularly good to them. MUN, the owner of Ho Mun Chut Massage Shop, has discovered that there is something wrong with the shop’s accounts. She asks BUD to check out what went wrong. It turns out that MEI has given 50% discounts to BUD since she has a crush on him. MUN is furious to learn the truth. MEI expresses her love for BUD, who finds her unbearable. CHUN, NI and the others persuade MEI to give up but she refuses. The four ladies bump into a handsome guy named MAN in different occasions respectively. They all have a very good impression on him. MAN, an old friend of BUD’s, pays visit to SII MUN PAO, leader of a triad gang, at the prison. MAN tells PAO his plan to revenge BUD with the four ladies. MAN helps PO caught some thieves……

PO dresses up to meet with MAN. NI, CHU and CHUN follow her all the way and discover that PO is dating with the man they admire. They feel very disappointed. Besides dating PO, MAN also tries to please CHU and NI in every way. CHU and NI do no want to step in between PO and MAN on one hand, but they enjoy the way MAN pleases them on the other. CHUN finds that MAN is going out with CHU and NI. She scolds MAN for being a fickle lover. MAN sidetracks her into talking something else skillfully. He pretends to be innocent and declares that the one he truly loves is CHUN. CHUN is a bit shocked. MAN picks up PAO from the prison. Quite a few of the cases that involve PAO are yet to be cracked. YUNG worries that PAO will commit another crime. He asks BUD to investigate PAO’s cases with him. PAO and MAN work together on their retaliation plan which targets at BUD.

MAN wins the hearts of the four ladies without much difficulty. He lies to them that PAO is his grandfather and invites them to visit PAO separately. BUD asks FAI to follow PAO. BUD is shocked to find that the four ladies are visiting PAO and MAN. BUD questions MAN, who replies that he will use the four ladies to revenge him. MAN further points out that BUD likes the four ladies indeed. MAN used to be a follower of BUD’s when the latter worked as under agent for the police. BUD has disintegrated the triad force and put MAN and PAO behind bars. When he was released from prison, MAN decided to take revenge on BUD. Fearing that MAN will harm the four ladies, BUD decides not to disclose MAN’s real identity to them. MAN has been coveting the large amount of stolen money that has been kept by PAO. The four ladies are fighting for a bouquet of flowers sent by an anonymous person. BUD settles their fight and tells them his past.

BUD reveals his past to the four ladies so that they can know by themselves what kind of person MAN is. MAN shows up all of a sudden to defend himself. He puts on an innocent face and turns the whole story upside down. As a result, he manages to win the trust of the four, whom blames BUD for wronging a good person. MAN has gone missing. The four have been out of their minds since. Without talking with each other first, they go to PAO’s home at the same time. All of them have fallen into MAN’s trap and pass out. Before he leaves the house, MAN hand the girls to PAO. When PAO is going to rape them, BUD arrives and saves them. MAN asks PAO to give him the stolen money but PAO refuses. The two entangle in a fight and in the midst of the chaos, PAO is killed. MAN shifts the blame on BUD. BUD has been arrested. YUNG believes that BUD is the murderer; he denies. The four ladies and MAN are invited by the police for investigation……

A button has been found on PAO’s body. PO suspects that it belongs to the murderer. MEI scolds the four ladies for getting BUD to the present situation. Feeling guilty, they try hard to look for evidence so as to save BUD. With the help of MEI, PO gets the key to MAN’s home. The four ladies have found a bloodstained shirt in his place. They confirm that the button found earlier was taken from this shirt. BUD learns that PAO has got a locker at a bowling alley. He suspects that the key found in his pocket is the locker key. In order to get the key, MAN hands in the bloodstained shirt to the police and even defenses for BUD. BUD is released. BUD follows MAN to a warehouse. He is stunned to see the four ladies being locked up there. MAN activates a bomb and demands BUD to hand him the key. BUD has no choice but to do as told. When the ladies have got out of the warehouse, the bomb next to BUD explodes……

BUD disappears after the incident. The four ladies and FAI have no choice but to continue their lives. Not willing to experience the same thing again, the four ladies have decided not to be too good to good looking guys so easily again. Ever since BUD’s disappearance, the four ladies have no luck in love at all. They pray for good luck at temples, as well as hanging around at pubs at nights. Unfortunately, those pubs are either under renovation or being sealed off by the police for investigation. Then they come up with the idea of turning CHU’s cafe into a high-class one so as to attract high quality men. Their plan to place an advertisement for their event, “Men’s Night”, on magazines, but FAI has mistakenly placed it on pornographic magazines instead. Chuen Mei Mansion’s owner, Mrs. KAM, runs across the four ladies, who are wearing sexy clothes, at a temple. KAM knows only later that they are her tenants.

The four ladies dress up for the “Men’s Night”. Believing that they are bad women, KAM accuses them of ruining the image of Chuen Mei Mansion. A group of lechers appear at Chuen Mei Mansion. KAM is taking it very nervously. She reports to the police that somebody is running vice business at her mansion. YUNG looks into the case. He discovers that it is only a mistake caused by FAI’s carelessness in placing the advertisement. KAM insists that the four ladies should be responsible for the mistake. YUNG tries very hard to persuade KAM to let them off. What is more, he gives the four a good telling-off. KAM finally agrees to let them go. After the death of her mother, MEI has been treating KAM in the way as if she was her family. And she has been helping KAM in managing Chuen Mei Mansion over the years. KAM requests MEI to kick the four ladies out, while they point the accusing finger at KAM. MEI doesn’t know what to do……

KAM asks about the four ladies’ weaknesses from MEI in order to attack them. As for the four, they are ready to fight back, too. KAM hates durian. The four places one in front of her. Kam cannot stand the smell and faints. Mistaking that she has died, the four are scared to death. To their huge surprise, KAM wakes up and eats the durian cheerfully. They realize then that they’ve been making a fool of. After some thorough analysis, they have thought of another plan to attack KAM. They know that KAM cares a lot about her hair style, so they deliberately throw some cakes onto KAM. In the middle of the chaos, KAM’s son, KAM KWAI CHEUNG, turns up. The four are shocked to see that CHEUNG looks exactly like BUD.

The four ladies suspect that CHEUNG is actually BUD. They ask MEI about this but she does not remember how CHEUNG looked when he was young. As a matter of fact, MEI suspected that CHEUNG is BUD as well at first, but she later knew that it was only a mistake. As for FAI, although he also thinks that CHEUNG and BUD look very similar to each other, he believes they are not the same person as they have entirely different personalities. The four, nevertheless, hold on to their views. They test CHEUNG with BUD’s likings, but their effort proves futile. PO knows that BUD enjoys investigation and if there is a crime, he would certainly look into it. YUNG is informed of a murder. PO draws KAM’s attention away and brings CHEUNG to the crime scene.

YUNG is completely at sea about the case. Therefore he is overjoyed to see PO show up with a BUD-looking guy. PO asks CHEUNG to have a look at the scene. But he becomes panicky when he sees the dead body. Not long after, he passes out and is sent to hospital. KAM is very angry. She scolds the four ladies for frightening CHEUNG. YUNG tells them off too for what they have done. In order to take revenge, KAM orders MEI to harass the four; MEI finds uncomfortable about the idea. CHEUNG gives her a hand. Fortunately, the four see through their plot. They report this to the police, claming that they have been harassed by the proprietor of the mansion that they live in. KAM remains silent. YUNG seals the mansion for investigation. Not wanting to cause any more troubles, the four decide to let go of the complaint. YUNG gives KAM a verbal warning and leaves. FAI is fond of MEI. He helps her clean up her message shop……

FAI has bought breakfast for MEI. He is sad to see her share the breakfast with CHEUNG. Insects have been found in the storeroom of Ho Mun Chut. KAM asks MEI to clean it up. MEI does not want to do it. FAI volunteers to do it for her. MEI is grateful. MEI wants to overcome her fear of insects, so she does the cleaning with FAI. KAM locks the storeroom door. KAM misleads FAI into believing that he has had sex with MEI. She also demands him to take the responsibility. FAI denies that he has done so. MEI leaves with a broken heart. After careful analysis, the four ladies discover it is a plot of KAM to set FAI and MEI up. KAM is speechless. FAI doesn’t want to ruin MEI’s reputation and integrity and so decides to be responsible for her. He declares his love for MEI by singing love songs in front of her. MEI is deeply touched. The two finally become lovers……

They are annoyed that the instructor is so into CHEE. They blame CHEE for bewitching men. CHEE retorts; they end up in a fit of argument. Finding that CHEUNG is an honest guy, the four ladies all regard him as their potential Mr. Right. KAM is very nervous about this. She asks CHEE to fight with them. CHEE, who is KAM’s appointed lawyer and surveyor, conducts a site inspection at the four ladies’ homes. The four ladies’ disgraceful manners are inevitably disclosed. CHEE claims that their behaviors are affecting the infrastructure of the building and requests compensation from them. The four ladies are displeased. After the disappearance of BUD, FAI has been working at Ho Mun Chut. The four ladies are jealous to see that he listens to whatever MEI says. CHEE has hurt her ankle. CHEUNG carries her on his back down the hill. The four ladies, who are following them from a distance, are burnt with jealousy. CHEE requests to spend the night on the island to rest her ankle. The four ladies dress like ghosts to frighten CHEE but CHEE recognize them. In order to get rid of the four, CHEE borrows money with fake identity documents which bear the four ladies’ information from a finance company. Staff from the company threatens to harm them if they do not repay their loans. The four are in danger. Meanwhile, a mysterious man appears to their rescue. YUNG believes that the threat is merely a mistake. He promises the four he will look into it and find the man. The four ladies suspect that the man is BUD. To find out the truth, they questions CHEUNG.

CHEUNG repairs CHEE’s computer for her. She gives him a Mickey-Finn and he passes out. CHEE foresees that the four ladies are tailing after CHEUNG and so plan to drug them as well. As a matter of fact, CHEUNG is just pretending to have passed out so as to check if CHEE has used her computer to produce fake identify documents of the four. Meanwhile, all of a sudden, CHEE returns. CHEUNG is caught red-handed. CHEUNG admits he is BUD. He wants to arrest CHEE, but she threatens to kill the four ladies if he does not take the drink with a Mickey-Finn. CHEE locks CHEUNG and the four ladies in the villa then visits KAM. She gives her a glass of water with some Mickey-Finn. After KAM has drunk the water, CHEE forces her to sign an authorization letter which states that the ownership of Chuen Mei Mansion will be transferred to CHEE. And if KAM refuses to do so, she will kill CHEUNG. KAM has a fit and hits her……

BUD reconstructs the case. He deduces that KAM has mistakenly poured some Mickey-Finn into the soup. CHEE, who was trying to destroy evidence, had taken in the toxic substance in the steam coming out from the boiling soup. So the case has been solved. The four ladies are overjoyed to see BUD again. They ask BUD why he has to hide his true identity and so he tells her the whole story. KAM can see that BUD likes the four ladies. She encourages him to make a choice among them. Nevertheless, they do not want to fight for men again and decide to choose friendship over relationship. They leave a letter to BUD and leave Chuen Mei Mansion. BUD plays a little trick and the four decide to stay eventually. Facing the four ladies again, which one of them will he choose in the end?
