When a hospital's record system is hacked and held for ransom, the inspectors step in to help with a new tech-savvy member of the team; Veronica auditions as a weather reporter for a local news station.

The inspectors call in a tech services expert who can potentially help them trace the individuals who attacked a letter carrier; Veronica teaches a university class and notices one of her students being negatively influenced.

When Veronica's grandmother becomes a victim of a foreign lottery scam, the inspectors step in to help, but Veronica worries that her family may be facing another challenge when her grandmother continues to believe that big winnings are on the way.
