Dolphins of Indian River Lagoon

Jeff joins scientists and volunteers from Harbor Branch at Florida Atlantic University's Health and Environmental Risk Assessment team to study Atlantic bottlenose dolphin health in Florida's Indian River Lagoon and uncover why these animals are the sentinels for the entire ecosystem. In the process Jeff helps researchers carefully locate and lift dolphins out of the water and onto a research boat for observation and assessment!

Jeff explores Aialik Glacier and visits the Alaska SeaLife Center, where he meets an orphaned harbor seal named Ali. Jeff helps the ASLC staff nurse Ali back to health and prepare for Ali's release back to the wild. Jeff teams up with the Alaska SeaLife Center to uncover the reasons behind the decline of some Steller sea lion populations.
